Not having me or her father there to advocate for her, she had to attend this appointment by herself. She explained to him that they get so terrible that she often throws up and passes out. We instructed her to ask for an MRI, which she did. She was told no way is he sending her for an MRI for just migraines, gave her pills and told her to take for the rest of your life. That was it. When she was back in NYC for Christmas break we took her to a neurologist here. Two serious issues were found on her scan, both of which we will be following up with in New York. I'll start by saying Dr. Benda's bedside manner while treating a very nervous 19 year old girl was atrocious. Shame on this situation and you Dr. Benda, do better for the people that place their trust in you.

He checked my chart doors a one over on my leg and says oh it's not that bad! I can't bend my toes or ankle it's so swollen and has different areas that are red and painful.. long story short, he commented the er isn't really equipped for a swollen ankle, and he didn't think it war summing to worry about!!' His time and demeanor was absurd and in a way like I was interrupting and bothering him. Didn't care what I was telling him about my concerns, so after I felt I was being insulted and judged, I told him thank you and hobbled out the doors!! Felt insulted and confused as to why adr wouldn't have recommended double checking labs or ultrasound eliminating the main possibilities?

Garbage! Here is…read morewhy: if you are interested in getting a work out, go somewhere else. People coop the machines; sometimes they will sit on a machine for over a half hour. During this time they will be talking to their friends, texting, or talking on their cell. Not much by way of exercise, but they run their mouth interminably. Most of the clients are over 60 years old. But they play twenty something music which is lame to a senior. Employees of Stonehill also coop the immediate parking. I have entered the fitness center with maybe less than 8 people using the equipment but the parking lot closest to the entry door is full. Because of what I just described above, I asked for a refund and was told by the woman--Mary-- who 'runs' the place, asserted that they would not provide a refund. Since I paid for an entire year, I questioned why if one pays monthly they are given opportunity to cancel provided they give one month notice. No satisfactory answer was provided. I asked for a copy of the contract and after reading it, it was clear that not a 'single' sentence asserted denying refund on a year's membership. In fact, as I noted, it does say that one month notice be provided. If I took them to small claims court, they would lose! But most egregious is that my experience of this place, and the way it is run, is best characterized as an authoritarian fiefdom. It is pretty clear the 'manager' has a Passive/Aggressive personality disorder. Moreover, many people in this organization are engaged in dysfunctional expressions of 'ageism.' My presupposition is it is entirely unconscious. Nevertheless they need sensitivity training for working with this population. Take a moment to read what their Mission, Vision, and Value statement taken directly from their own plaque that hangs near the entry door; assuming you want a good laugh at the contradictory ideals against the lived reality of some authoritarian twits.
