I told them I had the same symptoms as I did before that surgery. After waiting 4 hours where at one point there were only 3 other people, I finally left without being seen. One couple was still waiting and they had been there 6 hours. Another woman had been there about the same amount of time. She was very concerned about getting home because she came by ambulance and was in a non-folding wheelchair. One nurse was extremely rude to her and said the place they use to give patients rides home in a case like this was closed and asked if her family could get her. She said no. She was shaking and panicking. I tried to find a business that was still open and had no luck. I then asked on Facebook if anyone could help. A very nice woman agreed to drive from Ankeny to give her a ride! I went to the nurse and told her I found her a ride only to be told they had one for her since she had finally been taken to a room. Why this wasn't explained to us is beyond me. It would have saved this woman from panicking and me from spending an hour looking for a ride for her.

The Public Health nurse who called me said I should see an allergist and get a prescription for epi pens because AGS is weird and even with low levels I could have an anaphylactic reaction (and as it turns out the absolute gastrointestinal misery I went through that spurred me to get the testing *was* a form of anaphylactic reaction). Unfortunately I chose this place. Over $600 to be told the AGS levels on my blood test were "likely a false positive" and therefore no Epi was prescribed. Visit notes list several things that were not actually done and says I likely have "food intolerance", not an allergy. Completely disregarded the fact that AGS is a reaction to a SUGAR molecule while the limited scratch tests he did on me check reactions to PROTEINS (which is why they are NOT reliable for testing for AGS). Did NOT prescribe an Epi for me, so I just starved my way through a two-week camping trip for fear of potential reaction. My visit notes also suggest a "pork sausage challenge" at the office over 4 hours to rule out AGS. That's NOT the way AGS works. With AGS you can eat something one time and not react at all, and have the exact same thing two days later and have a bad reaction. It's a crap shoot. It's just plain dangerous to suggest to someone they're not AGS based on the fact that they don't react within a few hours to *one* in-office challenge. What happens when someone celebrates with a nice steak dinner because this doctor said they had a false positive, and they wake up in hospital or worse because *that's* when their body decided to react?? I also do NOT appreciate the complete lack of transparency with respect to pricing. Prices and fees should be clearly communicated BEFORE testing so the patient can make an informed decision as to whether to proceed. I feel like the over $600 I was charged for this one short visit with minor testing was a massive overcharge. I won't be going back.

I had cancer and also have it again and Dr Munro was/is always there for me. He is kind, considerate,caring, professional and has much empathy. He listens when I need to talk, sends me wherever I need to go. I had a meltdown and called the office and they asked him if he could squeeze me in and he said of course. He doesn't even mind my crazy. I wouldn't ever see anyone else. I hope he is my Doctor for the rest of my life, because I don't want to start over with someone else. I'm not sure I'd be here if it weren't for Dr Munro. I also see Kim, the therapist and she is wonderful, she listens, talks things out with me. She's the best. I also want to say that Diana (Dr Munro's nurse and Amy the other nurse are so kind and thoughtful. Bailey Webb treats my son and husband and she has always been helpful. The girls at the front desk are always pleasant and professional. I absolutely love this office and I hope it never changes. Sometimes you get what you get by the attitude you present, if you go in all crabby and demanding, you're probably not gonna get the best care you want, they will try, but you won't think it was. So, go in with knowing that they are human and so have bad days, probably because of a difficult patient... so try and give them a break or a second chance.

Dr Munro kept asking for visits to have paperwork filled out that we needed and charged our insurance when the specific paperwork was not sent over until multiple emails and calls were made to only be placed on hold for over 5 minutes each time and no one would answer and then calling back to be placed on hold even when told no when asked to hold and that I didn't want to be placed on hold and Bree would place me on hold anyways. I sent an email and left a voicemail for Dr. Munros nurse to call me back as we just needed confirmation that the doctors were sent and the fax confirmation with information and documents sent directly to us. That wad finally done 2 days after my 3rd visit by Dr. Monroe as he called us back hours later as he was just now faxing over the information information that we needed and that was two days after our appointment with him to get the exact documentation. Nothing like milking our insurance company for unnecessary visits. And then the doctor wants to terminate our relationship because they couldn't follow through with getting the documentation sent over when we originally had our visits! We never received a phone call from the clinic manager or clinic Director as we requested this numerous times by emails and calls to get this issue resolved and to get feedback. The nurse should've sent the information over the day of the appointment which never happened. The doctor was sending it two days later when we finally got a phone call from him!! the only thing that Monroe wanted to do for long Covid say to drink enough water, eat well and get enough sleep. seriously?! no other treatment is available out there for this?? this clinic will be one that I tell everybody to stay away from! If you're seeking Long Covid treatment, this is not the doctor that you want to see! They don't follow through with the things as they should in a timely manner and the only treatment they recommend is what a normal physician would recommend. Ridiculous! And to say that I was abusive to staff to say "No" to being placed on hold is a lie!! I terminate my relationship with Dr. Munro as he is not someone I would recommend to anybody and exaggerated the truth to what really happened and is only covering for his nurse not doing her job to send what I needed over on Monday when I had my appointment as that wasn't done even by Wednesday when I sent emails and then started calling. Why would I want to continue to see somebody that doesn't take care of my needs as a customer for a service that I have paid for. If anyone questions why hospital emergency rooms are used for non life threatening care- this office is one one of the reasons.
