Ended up scheduling induction (2 days late) and baby decided he was coming the next day before scheduled haha! Still had a great Dr deliver me and I can't remember his name right now! After doing some online research, I chose to go to Dr. Goss and I am SO glad that I did! Her warmth, empathy, knowledge and confidence never wavered throughout my pregnancy. At 37 weeks, I developed gestational hypertension and had to be induced. Two times during labor, my blood pressure sky rocketed and my baby's heart beat plummeted. Both times, Dr. Goss and the staff at Seton Hospital in Kyle sprang into calm and extremely competent action. A surgeon was called in to do an emergency c-section both times and, thankfully, both times the surgeon was sent off empty handed. I simply can not recommend any ob/gyn more than Dr. Goss. She has earned my loyalty as well as my sincerely heartfelt gratitude.

A few days ago I got verbal confirmation that I owe $0 for the out-of-network lab for the pap…read moresmear. That took almost 4 months of protest to my insurance. A couple days later I got the written response to my grievance against Katherine Lynne Berdofe, NP, for sending my lab Out-of-Network. The answer was she said the lab was sent to X co in Houston, it was in-network and I could switch to a provider in GALVESTON. 3.5 hours away. My medical record contradicts her claim and customer services confirms based on my plan and zip code there is no co x in network. I told them they should sanity check their work. Be persistent. Ask customer service over and over why. State your disatisfaction with customer service. File a grievance. An appeal only has to state that the provider did x and you want the claim reconsidered because you believe your plan entitles you to y per the Evidence of Coverage. I used Facebook too and that finally got noticed. The quality of a lab can make a difference. If a provider wants they can make sure you stay in-network and help you make a selection (as I have experienced) or they can make it your duty to prevent them from using the lab that benefits them. So they fail you two ways in concern for your health and financially.

After I left the hospital I called to make an appointment for the following day. They managed to squeeze me in and I was seen on time, the office looks nice, and the staff is even nicer. Dr. Zachrison was very sweet and reassured me that this was not my fault, common, and that everything will be ok with time and self care. He even shared his own personal heartbreak. I really appreciated and needed someone like him during this sad time. I will definitely be back when I hopefully have better news!

Most upsettingly, he moved forward with other procedures, knowing he no longer intended to treat me, effectively leaving me high and dry during a vulnerable time. * Recommendation: While the office staff and Nurse Practitioner are excellent, I cannot recommend this physician. She listens, takes her time with you, follows up, etc. My husband and I both felt extremely comfortable and at ease with her from the moment we met. Second, she's a great doctor. All our visits were informative and through, and she sent us to a specialist once when there was a potential possibility of a complication, as a precaution. Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, is that she really cares. I know there are some doctors who push c-sections, inductions, cord banking, etc., but Dr. Mileur was all about "let's deliver a healthy baby". My delivery ended up being quite complicated - the baby was too big to come out vaginaly, but Dr. Mileur by NO means jumped to a c-section as a solution, until literally everything else was explored. She did end up performing my c-section, which was as smooth as could be, and the stiching was great - have been healing very well. My baby ended up in the NICU for a little while after birth, and she even went to visit him there (babies have a different doctor once they are born, so she literally went just to see how he was doing). She's definitely my doctor for all my future pregnancies.

Im a GenXer, entering perimenopause at 49yrs old. I just moved to TX fm Southern California where I had access to some of the best medical in the world HOAG, UCLA, USC medical centers. Looking back I was prob in peri around age 44-45 with heavy cycles, brainfog, back sweats, major insomnia. She was one of the ONLY MD's who actually listened, saw and heard me. Its NOT normal to "deal with our next phase female symptoms". I went for a second opinion on a hysterectomy after seeing another gyn who I felt was treating me like a paycheck vs a patient. I was also gaining weight at a rapid amt which has never happened in my entire life. Dr. Abikhaled listened to me, explained why I am indeed a candidate for a hysterectomy based on my labs, ultrasound, biopsy, symptoms. She was also transparent sharing if I didn't feel comfortable or confident with her, she had 2 other colleagues she could refer me to. THIS is the type of medicine I need for me. Dr. Abikhalid is also a very clear communicator. She is very frank while having a nice bedside manner which I appreciate. Fast forward to pre-surgery consultation, based on my case I discussed keeping my ovaries bc Im not in full meno yet and didn't want to slam into meno like some of my friends did. She agreed that was a good option for me. I had my hysterectomy, preserving my ovaries via robotic surgery. It was 90min, outpatient. She was sure to have my pain meds ordered ahead of time. I had 4 small incisions from the surgery. No bleeding. I was off oxy on day 3. Managed pain with Tylenol/motrin. 1 week out I felt pretty strong, an ab binder would have been useful for the 1st 2 weeks esp for sleeping so buy 1 ahead of time (amazon has tons). Helps for ab core support. 3 weeks I was doing short walks outside yet still got fatigued pretty easily. Got back on my hrt patch and no more brain fog, no more insomnia, no more swollen hands and ankles. 6weeks I felt strong and fatigue finally was gone. I was cleared to do light weights again. Im at 8weeks. Im back exercising. Lifting up to 30lb. Back to weight training. Feeling strong, clear headed, no more swelling in my feet/ankles, insomnia is very little and i still get "mild" back sweats around 2/3am. Nothing like pre-hysterectomy where i was sweating through my shirt. If you have peri symptoms and painful or super heavy cycles like I had that is NOT normal. See Dr. Abikahlid. She is one of the best in womens health.

That being said, my appointment today was very rushed because Denise was on vacation and Dr. Kunda had to go to a surgery. Not a big deal, whatever. However, in the middle of my pap smear Kunda answered a call from his son... Literally one hand on the speculum, other hand on the phone. I was shocked. Then, I'm getting an ultrasound, spread eagle and legs facing the wall. The nurse leaves to get something and the door is left open. I get it nobody could see anything, but the position was still extremely vulnerable and I am not usually an anxious person, but I felt incredibly exposed.

We ended up in the ER for a completely unnecessary 8 hours and had about the worst experience we could possibly imagine dealing with what ended in a miscarriage. The doctors themselves are kind but good luck getting any attention or care even when a dire situation is present. We felt completely disregarded and helpless in a time when seeing a familiar face would mean everything. We called our OBGYN in San Antonio we used with our first child and immediately got an appointment and were met with care. Very disappointing experience and unfortunately will now have to deliver in San Antonio again due to how this experience has left us.

Office staff make no real attempt to verify the ACTUAL out of pocket cost ahead of time. Expect BIG bills in the mail after every visit. Only book appointments here if you want to be treated poorly and pay huge unexpected bills.
