First Visit: I had been dealing with a respiratory tract infection for almost 30 days and had already been treated by another community care center. Since I had a trip planned, I wanted to confirm whether I was still contagious. After completing my paperwork, I was called in quickly. The doctor reviewed my symptoms--fever that came and went, a bad cough, and throat discomfort. She checked my vitals, body temperature, and BP, which were all normal at that moment. Since I had already completed a round of antibiotics, she advised me to let my body fight the infection, reassuring me that I was no longer contagious. That was a relief, and I left Ally without being charged. Second Visit: After returning from my trip to California, I came back to Ally with a 103°F fever, severe body aches, extreme fatigue, and a baddd cough. This time, they ran every available test for infections and viruses, which confirmed that I had Influenza A, Influenza B, and COVID-19 and Respiratory Tract Infection. Unfortunately, since I had been sick for over a week, the doctor explained that antiviral medication wouldn't be effective. But they saw how severe my cough was, they prescribed an inhaler and cough medication to help manage my symptoms. I was charged $220 but that was in my best interest there are several other options which you can decide accordingly. What I appreciate most about Ally is that they are upfront about costs. Unlike other ERs that seem to prioritize billing over patient care, they inform you of pricing in advance, giving you the option to accept or decline services based on what's in your best interest. I honestly trust them more than my own physician at this point. I once took a friend to another ER where she tested positive for the flu. All they did was checked her vitals and BP before prescribing medication. Later she received a bill for $1,000. I was very ill at the time, so I do not have any pictures of Ally. However, I've attached a screenshot as proof of my visit.

I guess his time is more important than mine since I've waited more than 15 minutes for him in the past. 2) He cancelled a refill of medication I desperately needed without telling me because a computer database showed that I picked it up. I hadn't. When I suggested that he could have asked me if I had picked it up (and then confirmed it with the pharmacy), he offered no apology. He said it was the pharmacy's fault, not his. He also insisted I call him "doctor" after I addressed him by his first name as if he's above me.

They don't balance bill after your insurance pays them (plus whatever your portion is, under insurance). I did their detox program. While I didn't like not being able to interact with anybody other than staff (I mean, it's a hospital setting, so...), they have Roku Tvs with Netflix in the rooms, and you can sign into any of your own services. Jason and Tina in particular are amazing, but I had no negative experiences with anyone working there. I will say, if you're there long enough for a meal, it's going to be a frozen dinner that they throw in a microwave. The upside is you have an exact calorie and carb count, if that matters (I'm on insulin, I have to dose based on carb intake - they let me self administer since I'm on an insulin pump). At one point they apparently would order from restaurants, but that probably cut into the CEOs hush fund too much (joking) Thr care is great. The food is terrible (I mean... It's a frozen dinner). The bill will max out your deductible (and likely your out of pocket even on a HDHP). But they truly do care, and they've stayed in touch to see how I'm doing. I needed them to call in an RSV vaccine prescription to HEB pharmacy - I called at 8 am and when I went to the pharmacy at 140 pm they still hadn't done it. I called Happy Health and they did it in 10 minutes. I am going to be transferring my primary care to Happy Health. As everyone there from the receptionist to the doctors treat their patients like important customers. I'd give them a zero if there was a star that low.

I've only had two phone interactions with the office since returning to care, and unfortunately, both were unnecessarily rude and condescending. The first was regarding a same day schedule change the office requested less than an hour before my appointment. When I couldn't accommodate the new time due to work, I was met with clear frustration and no flexibility. So I just made it work anyway. The second happened today: I had a virtual appointment this morning, and moments ago received a phone call demanding immediate payment -- not just for today's appointment, but also for one from a month ago that I hadn't even been notified about until just an hour earlier from my insurance. When I asked if I could pay through the portal, I was repeatedly pressured to pay over the phone instead, as if I was avoiding the bill. I have no issue paying my bill, and in fact, I paid it immediately after the call ended. But I was spoken to as if I had ignored multiple invoices, and the tone felt aggressive and was incredibly inappropriate. I understand that medical offices deal with difficult patients all the time. But kindness should be the standard, not the exception, especially when both phone calls I've had with your office staff have left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, Dr. Ince makes it worth continuing care. But I'm genuinely relieved that my appointments are virtual, because based on how I've been treated, I have no desire to deal with this staff in person.

Before going, I checked my Humana insurance, which listed this facility as a provider, so I arrived expecting to use my coverage. Once I arrived, I was told they do not accept insurance, which was very confusing and concerning given how they were listed under my plan. I was then informed that costs would start at around $800 or more, and according to the receptionist, they do not perform X-rays. Despite my insurance copay being $45, I was insisted upon to pay $800 upfront before any examination, without being seen by a doctor or receiving any medical evaluation. Due to the excessive cost, I declined treatment and left. The receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive throughout the interaction, which only made the situation worse. Being pressured for a large upfront payment before any care was provided raised serious concerns. Overall, between the lack of transparency regarding insurance, exorbitant pricing, and unprofessional behavior, I chose not to proceed with treatment and will not be returning. This experience left me very uncomfortable and concerned about how patients are treated here.

I left the OB completely freaked out (the on call doc when I went was absolutely awful) & not to mention, with no diagnosis or meds or anything at all. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I had a full blown anxiety attack for the next 24 hours. The following day I couldn't take it and came down the road to viks. Due to the intimate nature of my issue, I requested a female doctor but they told me they only had male; so I just took what I could get, not a huge deal. Front desk was fairly nice, filled out the papers, and they took me back fairly quickly. My doctor was Dr. Mcalasdair (apologies if i spelled that wrong). While I did originally want an ultra sound, he attempted talking me out of it. We went back and forth for a little bit but ultimately he said he was pretty confident he knew what was causing this, and while he didnt think an ultrasound was needed, he was willing to call their ultrasound person to come down and do it if I was adamant. I eventually caved and agreed to not do the ultrasound. Although he did make a little dig during our convo which I didn't appreciate (he said something along the lines of "I've been doing this for 30 years so I think I know what I'm doing). Please don't be condescending. Regardless of how long you've been in medicine, people are still allowed to advocate for themselves & their desires for their treatment. Anyway - aside from that, he was attentive and reassuring. However I've got to give it to the nurse - she really soothed me and my anxieties. She was such a sweetheart. She was maybe a middle aged lady with a British accent. She was so attentive, answered all my questions, checked on me, and when she could tell how nervous I was, she even brought me a little mini teddy bear with a viks shirt on to hold onto. No matter how old you are, little gestures like that really mean something, especially when you're scared. In the end, what I got was an IV in the arm with antibiotics. I believe it took like 45 min to fully drain. While I just sat there and waited, my nurse even brought me a heated blanket to make sure I was warm and comfortable. She was the best. They wrote me a prescription for an oral antibiotic but we were unsure if we were gonna make it on time before the pharmacy closed. On the off chance we didn't, they gave me my first pill ther so I wouldn't have to worry about missing a dose that night (in case we weren't able to get it until the next day). Thankfully we did make it to the pharmacy before they closed though. But that was really thoughtful. In the end, we ended up paying the ER price upon leaving. I haven't received any other bill in the mail so I can't speak on that experience yet... Also - the doctor called the next day to check up on me but I was unable to answer so he left a message. I called back the following day, but he wasn't busy with a patient so a message was taken. No call back. Called again the next day, he wasn't at the lakeway location, he was at another location. So I called the other viks location I was told he was at and they took a message since he was busy with a patient and told me he would call me back. He never did. I called again a day or two later back to the lakeway location and they gave me the same story and said they'd take a message but I told them I had already tried that multiple times and got no call back and told them I just wanted to speak to anyone on staff nurse or otherwise for them to answer my questions. So they put me on hold and I spoke to another doc I'm assuming, but not the one I saw, not dr macalasdair. This doc was pretty vague and dismissive with his answers. Basically it was like a couple word answers or "I can't answer that unless you come back in & we look at you again"...... mkay. He was unhelpful. Between the snarky response when I was advocating for myself in the room & the lack of call back and unhelpful response I got when I finally demanded to speak to anyone doctor on staff, that's why I took one star off. Otherwise, I had a solid experience. They fixed me and calmed my nerves at the same time. If anything goes awry with billing, I'll be sure to update my review. But for now, thanks for helping me!

She never once made me feel shame and has catered my treatment to my lifestyle and needs. I tend to be really hard on myself and she always redirects and lets me know when something is and will always be out of my control BUT how medical intervention can help. This is going to be a side note but it is important- somehow I had an appointment the month my mother passed and six months later while I was having a miscarriage. The level of care and empathy Brandy showed me really made an impact on me. Both of these situations could have derailed my health, but she was supportive and it made a difference. I feel so lucky to have someone on my team who genuinely cares.

Unnecessary rude comments, interruptions, no effort to understand, no willingness to contact someone else who might better help - and just forget about compassion for an ill patient!!! I called twice today - the first as a courtesy that due to traffic on my one-hour journey to the office, I might be 3-5 minutes late. Instead of a "thank you, we'll let your medical team know", I received a lecture (TWICE) about if I don't show up within 10 minutes, I'll have to be rescheduled. The second call today was about an unexpected prescription for a drug I have ample supply, when only another drug prescription was discussed. After I was read the summary which I saw the doctor write, I asked for someone else who might help me. The immediate response was "and who might that be?" Finally, I begged to leave a message for my doctor for verification. I just noticed the phone number for all 3 offices is the same, so the problem may not even be at my location. As good as the health care is, life's too short to have to put up with a rude, inefficient office staff. I'm sure I can find another specialist closer to my home.
