My…read moredaughter was crying in severe pain from what appeared to be a migraine or severe headache, and before deciding whether to check her in, I simply wanted to ask if the hospital had the appropriate equipment and specialists to treat her condition. If not, I was prepared to take her elsewhere. Unfortunately, the receptionist, Jessica, was on her phone when I approached. When I asked my questions, she was rude, dismissive, and spoke in a condescending tone. Rather than showing empathy or helping us understand our options, she responded, "This is an emergency room hospital," in a way that made it clear she didn't want to be bothered. As a parent with a child in tears and obvious pain, compassion and professionalism matter. Instead, I left feeling like my daughter would not receive the care or attention she needed. Because of that interaction alone, I made the decision to drive 40 minutes from Kyle to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin. The difference in care was night and day. From the moment we arrived at Dell Children's, the staff was compassionate, attentive, and made us feel like my daughter's well-being truly mattered. I understand working in an emergency department is stressful, but there is never an excuse for treating worried parents and children with such a lack of empathy. First impressions matter, especially in healthcare. I sincerely hope Baylor Scott & White addresses this, because no family should feel discouraged from seeking care due to the attitude of the person greeting them.

The receptionists are a bit slow to process things sometimes and it can come off as cold. But the nurses and doctors really do go above and beyond here to treat you. I was given IV fluids quickly for nausea and dehydration. While on my second visit they didn't seem to find anything concerning i wish they would have given some pills to take home vs waiting for the pharmacy to open at 8am to get them. Otherwise all good and recommend if you need quick treatment.

The customer service & bedside manner was next level, the kind you rarely find these days and definitely won't find at Ascension Seaton (AS). We had a devastating emergency yesterday, and went to Kyle ER after a horrible experience at AS. I am beyond grateful for the help of Kyle ER yesterday and highly recommend them.

They don't balance bill after your insurance pays them (plus whatever your portion is, under insurance). I did their detox program. While I didn't like not being able to interact with anybody other than staff (I mean, it's a hospital setting, so...), they have Roku Tvs with Netflix in the rooms, and you can sign into any of your own services. Jason and Tina in particular are amazing, but I had no negative experiences with anyone working there. I will say, if you're there long enough for a meal, it's going to be a frozen dinner that they throw in a microwave. The upside is you have an exact calorie and carb count, if that matters (I'm on insulin, I have to dose based on carb intake - they let me self administer since I'm on an insulin pump). At one point they apparently would order from restaurants, but that probably cut into the CEOs hush fund too much (joking) Thr care is great. The food is terrible (I mean... It's a frozen dinner). The bill will max out your deductible (and likely your out of pocket even on a HDHP). But they truly do care, and they've stayed in touch to see how I'm doing. Tina, Jason, if either of you see this, thank you.

The ability to walk in, complete the check-in, and pay the copay made the initial experience quick and easy. Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing. During my visit, my urine sample was accidentally discarded, and I had to return to provide another sample. There was no acknowledgment or compensation for the additional time and inconvenience this caused. After completing the visit and treatment, the same symptoms returned. Ultimately, I had to schedule an appointment with my primary care physician to address the issue because the problem was not resolved. This resulted in another copay, additional medication costs, and more time spent trying to get the care I needed. While the convenience of the scheduling process was a positive, the follow-up experience and lack of resolution left me frustrated and disappointed.

She is fantastic and we're glad to have her as our Primary Care Physician. She is the definition of what a Primary Care doctor should be. She familiarizes herself with your whole medical history and determines if you need to be examined further by a specialist. Then I found Dr. Wenzel... probably the very best Endocrinologist I've ever met. I left my last Diabetes doctor because I only saw the actual doctor twice in the year-1/2 I went there. Dr. Wenzel was very thorough, spent a good amount of time with me, and was kind enough to phone me (on a Saturday morning) to deliver the results of my lab work. Unbelievable! Needless to say. He's the ONLY endocrinologist I ever want to see. It's not just the wonderful Doctors at Seton, but also the Staff. From Reception to Nurses and PAs, you feel welcomed and cared for every visit. They also have their own Lab on site and it sure beats going to one of those places where you wait for a long time just to give a little blood. The Phlebotomist is the best I've ever seen. Never a bruise or sting. Smooth as glass. Seton also has the very best Patient Portal I've ever seen. It's easy to get a message to or from the Doctors, manage appointments, pay bills, and view test results. I just love this Medical Team and am happy to live close enough to use them exclusively.

Unfortunately, both have left Seton, with the most recent one just having departed on 1/1/19. Seton notified me in a letter dated 11/27/18. Here are pertinent points from that letter: "* If you currently have an appointment scheduled after December 31st with Dr. XXXX, one of our staff will contact you to reschedule with another Seton physician, and ensure the smooth transition of your care. * We are also pleased to announce that XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD, Family Medicine will be relocating to Seton Family of Doctors at Hays and accepting new patients beginning January 14, 2019. * Alternatively, please feel free to contact us, (512) 504-0855, if you have any questions, would like to obtain a copy of your patient record, or choose to arrange transfer of your records to another physician." I didn't have an appointment scheduled but needed one so I called. I told them who I would like to see at the practice and they told me "no." They assured me that the letter clearly explained that I had to see the new doctor at the practice. I told them that them letter said nothing of the sort. Never mind the fact that I was due for a follow up before the new MD was seeing patients. I guess they figured a couple of weeks wasn't a matter of life and death. They were insistent. They were complete a--holes. And they still are. If you want any say in your care, go elsewhere. The one thing you will not find here is caring about what you want.

You'd think people that worked in a hospital setting would be used to patients coming into the emergency room in pain???!!! I was actually shushed ,multiple times.!!!!! I presented there with what ended up being a pretty rare in fact of the rarest nerve disease. And it is so painful that people die from it because they refuse to eat. So this was my first experience with this pain and of course I went straight to the ER. They did tell me I didn't have an ear infection ,( I already knew that) and They kept telling me to be quiet because I was moaning constantly and every once in a while Id scream when the pain became too much to bear anymore. The doctor eventually came in and told me they were going to give me antibiotics and eardrops. I asked why and he said for your ear infection ??? But they said I did not have one and I knew that I did not have one also.???? I know it's a rare nerve disease but if somebody had just talked to me and asked me where and how it was hurting and everything they might have just figured it out. Side note ,, not related to my story - I asked for and received my husband's emergency room bill from that location and got them to take off $1,200 worth of charges for services never received!!!! Just saying when you get your bill in the mail from the hospital itself call them and ask them for an itemized bill . you will be amazed how much they're charging for that Ibuprofen theyg you $86 1 pill!!¡!
