Attendants will guide you. You will enter the building and immediately get your temp checked and answer a couple standard COVID questions. Next, you'll approach an area to check in with your name. They will send you over to the next section where they'll confirm your information and give you info about the vaccine you're receiving. Now, you'll go to another section to get your vaccine. One nurse will be at a laptop and ask you a couple of questions, while another nurse administers the vaccine. They'll give it to you in the less dominant arm. I'm right handed so they gave it to me in the left arm. The feeling for me was similar to a flu shot where its sort of like a punch to the arm and some lingering pain afterwards which is just more annoying than anything. Lastly, you'll be sent to a waiting area to wait 15 mins. There is a digital clock on the wall. Social distancing was kept the whole time. Great job!

The folks working down there kindly gave us the Maid of the Mist ponchos. Yay! This was a great experience and value for your buck. You can get a mini feel of the power of the Niagara. It loses a point because the cops are really intense, and will pull you over for any given thing, especially at night. It's honestly a real nervous hassle driving through here because of all the police stops, and it's such a safe area that I feel it's overkill and unneccessary. It would be nice to see that kind of police presence in high crime areas of WNY, but there simply isn't. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of Kenmore. Other than La Divina, there's good pizza at Mustachio's and a great Salad nearby (Pie O Mine Greens). And also do not miss a burger at Vizzi's while you're up here.

But, this park is beautiful and well-maintained with lovely walking bridges, well-kept roads, plenty of parking, and miles of walking trails. This is where you'll visit the lookouts for Bridal Veil Falls, Cave of the Winds and the Terrapin Point lookout for the Horseshoe falls in the US. The visitor center and complex for the ticket purchase and gift shop for the Cave of the Winds is nice and there is a statue of Nikola Tesla as well as an original historic preserved gate to the original hydroelectric plant here. There is plenty to see and do here in an afternoon and it is time well spent.

Although I didn't have the guts to get all the way back to that rail where the falls come crashing down behind you, I got close enough to feel the wind pushing me over. The deck vibrates as the water pounds the supports. Make no mistake, you will get wet here, especially if you venture onto the Hurricane Deck. We really didn't get too wet because we wore our rain coats and put the provided poncho overtop which protected everything except our faces and feet. DO THIS. My friend told me she wasn't interested in getting soaked but I convinced her to come and she thanked me afterwards. AWESOME!!! You can also choose to stay down on the lower deck where you don't get wet at all. My husband did that. I am going to drag him up on the Hurricane Deck next trip...
