In Summary: Avoid at all costs, my experience with Meridian Dental Centre was a total nightmare from beginning to end: - I had to have a crown redone 3 times due to poor work. - The office failed to properly submit claims to insurance. - The office sent these botched claims to collections, despite never contacting me a single time about it. I required a crown on an emergency timeline due to a cracked front tooth. This crown was installed poorly, and broke within just a few weeks - it needed to be replaced. The replacement crown didn't match the color of my other teeth, and looked totally off. It took yet ANOTHER replacement to finally get it right -- this process took months, and countless visits. Three crowns total. Nearly two years after this terrible experience, I received a notification that a bill was in collections from my initial crown install. I never once received a bill, nor was I contacted once (a detail the front-desk confirmed). The office failed to properly submit the claim to insurance, but never once tried to rectify it or give me an opportunity to appeal. It's been two years, and it entered collections with 0 warning. I have tried contacting the office for the last three weeks but the staff will not return my calls. I spoke briefly with an office manager who assured me that I would get a call back, but I have not. In the meanwhile: My only recourse is to share this story on social media & with the Better Business Bureau, in the hopes that others would avoid this office. I had to have a root canal performed by an endodontist and they recommended following up with my primary care dentist. I saw Dr. Casey N. Niekamp and have never had such a wonderful experience with a dentist. Dr. Niekamp went through all of my options with the pros and cons on how to best take care of my teeth. Dr. Niekamp was very thorough and so kind and patient working through all of my questions. I would strongly recommend, if you are looking for a dentist, to consider requesting Dr. Niekamp. This place has nice staff, but each time i went i wasted at least an hour to an hour an a half waiting past my appointment time. I've reschedule an appointment twice due to the anticipation of that and not having enough PTO to spend a whole half day at the dentist. I called to set up an emergency appointment which they gave me an opening a week out for. I rescheduled for a specific date. They called me two days early saying that it was for today.z no, i specially put it in for Thursday. I called back asking about it and they said i can only do same day appointments now. Thats on you guys. Also, They extracted a tooth for me and gave me no pain meds or antibiotics. The doctors a nice guy but this place is chaotic and the worst experience I've ever had on the admin side. Do not recommend at all. read more

If I could give a negative I would. First of all, after walking in I realized everyone was gone that worked there just 6 months ago. I have been coming here for 6 years and now, all new people. I went in for my 6 month cleaning (appointment made at my last 6 month cleaning as I have always done) This time all they did was look at my teeth. no scraping no gum check, nothing! The hygienist did brush my teeth while trying to fix broken water hose, that she finally gave up on. Total time for visit counting the time she worked on the broken hose was and waiting for the Dentist to come in and see me took all of 20 minute. When the Dentist came, I asked the hygienist and the Dentist both what was happening because I have never gone to a cleaning where they don't clean ‍the teeth! The reply from both was we only do that once a year when we take films. What a waste of time and they have the nerve to bill stating Perio evaluation ???? The care for the patient isn't as important as the money. I was scheduled for a procedure in the chair when a representative from the office came in and wanted me to pay upfront the difference between what insurance was expected to pay and their fee. I was not prepared to do that. so I had to leave. I can't recommend this practice anymore after tge new owners are not interested in caring for patients only their money! read more

An amazing experience!!!! Everyone was so kind and genuine! The office is first class! It was chilly, but they had blankets available. Every chair had a TV with headphones. The dental cleaning was comfortable and thorough. The knowledge of the staff was evident in the outstanding communication and education they offered to their patients. I would recommend to anyone! Holy molars this place is awesome! I broke a filling AND chipped my back molar and needed to see a dentist soon. I had been avoiding the dentist for quite a few years after having a terrible experience and was really dreading this place. I have NEVER had such a good dental experience in my life. The office is a strictly female staff (that's not a necessity, just a fact) and they are all incredibly gentle. No tugging or aggressiveness. They clearly explained everything to me and even had the payment specialist come talk to me about the charges that would happen if I moved forward with any procedures. Very poor billing department. 2 incidents occurred. They kept billing me for a procedure my insurance covered. Every time I got my statement saying I owed a balance, Meridian billing clerk told me to disregard. I even had a conference call with my insurance and the billing clerk to clear it up. but still kept getting bills from Meridian. It took 1 year to clear up even though I called them to fix every month. 2nd incident: They gave me an estimate for a crown saying they contacted my insurance. Long story short. My insurance had lapsed and I was not aware. If they truly did contact my insurance it would have said that and I would have fixed the issue right away. I have received honest feedback about several dental issues but have never been pressured into any procedures I don't need. Worst cleaning. Then they told me I need to have deep scaling, scraped and clean, periodontal work which requires additional time off from work and they can charge the insurance company more. They tried to scare me about my gums, I asked if I needed to go see a periodontist. They said there was no reason. Didn't make sense since I've previously had periodontal work. I tried them bcz my employer changed plans. They will charge for items that my former dentists have always conducted as part of a normal check up. 25 dollars to check your tongue for signs of cancer. Needless to say, I've returned to my former dentist and I'm paying out of network pricing. I'm not being charged for every little nuance that should be part of a regular examination. Also, MDC charged an additional 25 dollar fee that no one could explain. It was such a nuisance I sent in $12.50 and told them I wouldn't send any more. After several calls, even though I was continuously told someone would call me back to explain...they continue to send this bill for $12.50 which is now immediately placed into file 13. They continue to send this bill, they have spent more in postage than the $12.50 since this occurred pre-covid. read more

After 6 years of no dental appointments, I knew I had to grin and bear it. Dental appointments had always been poor experiences for me. Despite needing a lot of work after my initial checkup at Meridian Dental, they made me 100% more comfortable than I had anticipated. It was actually an enjoyable experience, and that means a lot coming from a grown adult like me, who was still terrified of going to the dentist. SCAM! I never write reviews but felt that people need to be aware! My husband and I were sent here after another dentist office closed suddenly. After having only one cavity in my life, and just having been at the dentist six months ago and no sign of cavities, I was told by Dr. Cermak that I had 5 cavities. I was extremely skeptical and asked a lot of questions and wanted to know if I could wait and see how they developed. I was told that leaving them alone for a few months would probably cause me to need a root canal and was pressured into having them filled "as soon as possible". After a horrible filling experience, where the filling was dropped into my mouth and two weeks later fell out while eating, I had to return. I then decided I would move on to another dentist. I got another opinion (which I should have done before any fillings). The new dentist looked at the xrays they had taken at Meridian and said he would be hard pressed to say that I had even one cavity let alone 5!!! He said that there is no sign of anything aside from some slight discoloration on ONE of the teeth that he wouldn't even categorize as a cavity. I am so disgusted and disheartened that a practice could be so deceptive, taking people's money and drilling into perfectly fine teeth. This is a corporation and is run like one. I had a crown done by another dentist. When it cracked the very next day, and I was unable to reach my dentist, Meridian took me on a Friday at 4 PM and repaired it so that I wasn't in pain going into the weekend. Needless to say, I switched dentists immediately. Dr. Harris and her team are excellent - professional, courteous and efficient (and PUNCTUAL!!!). I am now a loyal patient and customer. read more

Friendly, professional and polite front desk staff. Unfortunately, this practice seems only in business for those looking for cosmetic dentistry (out of pocket expense) or those who are willing and able to pay for any and all services they suggest without insurance, or regardless of the insurance carrier. And if the providers aren't as ethical or conservative as they should be in their suggestions for treatment, then only those where money (or judgement) isn't a concern, will receive care there. All others will most likely end up seeking out basic needs elsewhere. Where their insurance will be accepted or the costs of service reasonable so that they may pay out of pocket. The visit I encountered was diametrically opposite to any dental appt I had before, over a 30 year period. Firstly, during my first 45 minutes there, I was in a room with a female whom I was under the impression was the dentist. The person who escorted me back to the room advised me of her name, agter stating she was ready for me. And neither person stated her title, but she turned out to be the hygienist. Very knowledgable and professional, but the questions I posed and the discussions I initiated were unncessary during my time with her. When the dentist finally popped in, she did a quick peak in my mouth, then sat behind me with the hygienist to discuss all, then left. I didnt find her personable, thorough or interested in me as a new patient. The experience I had with their hygienist was much more fitting with experiences I had with all dentists before. It was a role reversal in this office. Secondly, I scheduled a cleaning with this office as I was overdue. You cant have a cleaning without an exam by the dentist, that is customary. So I was schedule for an exam and the customary basic cleaning. After an hour with the hygienist (her exam and xrays, which again, I thought she was the dentist at the time) and the 5 minutes with the dentists, I thought we wre finally ready for my cleaning. When I asked, okay will I be staying here in this room for my cleaning, the hygienist replied, no, youmwill not be having a cleaning today. You need a "special" cleaning and that wont be covered by yourinsurance. The business manager will be comimg in to give you the breakdown on all other servixes we think you should have in the furtire, though, and breakdown the costs. Then she left to aother room. I sat there confused, shicked, then livid. I cane in for a cleanining and now I was being sent away. Even if this hygienist thought I needed a more "tjorugh" clenaing that woykd take more of her time, than why not i itiate interest in a second appointment, explain to me ehat this supposed "special" cleaning was that would orevent me from having any cleaning at all, and if her "special" cleaning wasnt goingt o be paid for by insurance, then perform the basic, customary cleaning i was schedule for, or tell me the differencein costs of "basic and "special and let me decide if I was typing p oay the difference out ofmpockt. Even though my insurabce was paying for the exam, cleaning, any fillings ect (which they knew), I wasnt even sure if this office was in network at the time of scheduling and willing to pay for the cleaning out of pocket if need be, I just wanted (and needed) a cleaning. So after the hygienist blew me off with her excuse, the business manager walked back with a 2 page report which reflected aboiut 20 different procedures they felt I needed, if the insurance or myself were naieve enough & willing to pay. My last dental appt the year before stated my teeth were great, I was doing a great job taking vare of them, that i just needed to watch a root canal from years prior, that would need a crown at some point. This dentist noted that concern as well, but then stated my needing new crowns on every tooth that had ever been filled. She also advised needing a mouth night guard, which I had already mentioned my interest to the hygienetist, as I had used one in the past and found it helpful. Interestingly, they were willing to sell me their mouth guard that they said the dentist creates in her office for $400. So they were happy to sell that to me at the end of my appt, bur not clean my teeth as scheduled. Or state they were willng to schedule an additional appt for the cleaning they failed to do, at a later date. Because the business manager and hygientist both stated that the "special clenaing" I needed wouldnt be covered, nor any fillings if needed (which was untrue), and thats why I was being sent away without any type of cleaning, I decided to follow up with my insurance co. The rep stated shes never heard of any appt like mine before. The cleaning wouldve been paid for in full, and she was unaware of a "special" cleaning. She also stated that this office had already submitted a claim for a $1000 mouth guard, in addition to the exam and xrays. So this office isnt operating as ethically as it should. My permanent cap decided it needed air; so I had the unfortunate luck of trying to find a dentist since I travel here from Philly/NJ...I scanned the Internet & decided on the closest dentist with the best ratings...I hit the jackpot...Dr Pamela Harris...she was wonderful, caring, concerning & gave awesome advice...she repair my cap & sent me on my way...Would I return if my teeth requires additional work; ABSOLUTELY!!! Had one visit there and will never go back. I was there for a cleaning and a checkup. I have a fear of the dentist and cannot use the water pick to have my teeth cleaned due to my sensitivity; the hygienist needs to do the hand scraping. The hygienist cleaned the inside of 5 teeth (yes, 5 teeth!) and then poof, I'm done. Said that it takes a while to do it by hand so I will get my entire mouth cleaned on my next visit in 2 weeks. WHAT?? I've been to a few dentists that have to clean by the hand scraping and never, EVER have I ever been told that it takes too long to do it and to come back. Either someone is very lazy and didn't want to do it or didn't have time for me and pushed me aside. I wasn't a walk in, I had an appointment and you don't do that. So if I have a crown and they have complications, are they going to wake me up and tell me that it takes too long and to come back at another time to finish?? I have never experienced that. As if I'm going back there. When I called to make my appointment I specifically asked about sedation because I told her I knew I needed a crown and wanted to be completely sedated. "Oh yes, we do sedation." As I'm chatting with the dentist I'm told no, they do NOT do sedation, only nitrous. I specifically asked this question before going in and was told wrong. My visit was a complete waste of my time. I don't know why so many coworkers recommend this place. I will never go back and will tell others about my experience and tell them not to go. read more
