I ordered a get-well soon arrangement one week before the expected delivery date. On the delivery date, the arrangement was delivered at 9:50 PM, well outside of normal business hours. When I called to inquire, Mark stated that I never asked for a specific delivery time and that they accepted the arrangement (after getting them out of bed) so he didn't understand why I was questioning the late hour that they were delivered. I believe it was an oversite on their end and instead of calling and owning it and asking if it was okay to deliver the next day they rushed an order over. Things happen but how you respond is what people remember and Mark's care-less attitude is why I would not recommend them. read more

So pleased with Merino's florist, for the past years they have been putting a Christmas grave blanket on my mother and grandparents grave. I am retired and live and Florida and cannot do this. Really appreciate the tlc they gave too the grave too. May God bless them for the good they do in their business. read more

I provided pictures to the owner of Merino's of the flower arrangements I wanted for my daughter's bridal shower. As I reviewed the pictures with him I found him dissmissive and rude. I ordered 6 centerpieces and one larger arrangement; simple flowers in mason jars with merlot/cranberry ribbons glued around the rim. This is not what I received. Not only were the flowers and ribbon the incorrect colors, the ribbons were not glued along the neck of the mason jar but were on floral picks placed in the jars and THEY WERE PURPLE!!! So were some of the flowers. Purple was not requested anywhere in the color scheme for the arrangemnts and was not part of the pallet for the shower nor is it written on my order form but merlot is! The work is not done by the owner, he has a designer(s), and the arrangements were beautiful BUT THE FLOWERS AND RIBBON COLORS WERE NOT WHAT HE HAD BEEN SHOWN. When I asked him to show me the photos he had taken of the flowers on my phone at the time I placed the order, he would only show me one photo which might have had a hint of purple and wouldn't scan to the other pictures provided, which were clearly cranberry/merlot. I stated "no purple" several times when ordering and asked if he had written merlot on the order, he had! My husband, who was with me when ordering, verified I had stated this several times and the order form has the colors clearly writtten, by the owner. Then he told me he couldn't get the flowers I wanted in the merlot/cranberry color so he made substitutions. However, I had asked him to check with me first if any changes needed to be made. This did not happen. He did offer to go to the store that evening for the correct color ribbon and said he would have the change made by 10 the next morning. That was not possible due to scheduling on the day of the shower and, in truth, I did not trust him. He arbitratily made decisions based on what he deemed was best, regardless of what I'd requested. Ironically, after I'd paid in full at time of ordering, two friends cautioned me not to deal wth this florist due to similar experiences. Too bad, too late. read more

I was in need of purchasing flowers in a tight rush for my father's wake. I went to a couple of different places in town and called a few different places online but didn't like what they had to offer. They were too expensive and the items were a bit too small for their price. I stopped in and spoke with Mark, the Owner. We talked a little bit and I showed him some photos of what I wanted to have done and the price he offered was great. I had no idea where to start never having to order flowers for a wake before and he answered all of my questions and gave me advice on what types of flowers to choose and best colors and helped me decide. He was not pushy or demanding in any way. He made me feel completely comfortable with my choices and assured me that he would do whatever I wanted and guaranteed my satisfaction. He was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful. When I walked into the funeral home 3 days later and saw the flowers, I was blown away!! The burial urn wreath was absolutely STUNNING!! The flowers were gorgeous and you can tell they were super fresh and I couldn't get over the size. It was incredibly beautiful. I had so many compliments on how gorgeous the flowers were. I also had a second basket made with 2 ribbons and that was just as beautiful. I could not get over the size of the basket and how full and beautiful the flowers were. He listened to everything that I told him and matched the vision in my head exactly. I could not have been happier with those flowers. Anytime I need flowers I will always go to see Mark. You can trust him with all your flower needs. I cannot thank him enough for the INCREDIBLE job that was done!! I asked for a same day delivery of a gift basket for my son who lives in New Haven. It was his birthday. I'm in Texas where we were having catastrophic weather issues. These good folks were able to put something together. I called and asked for help but I was promptly directed to order from the website. No worries. There I was given the opportunity to add special requests. Since I had not worked with Merino's before and I was a long ways away, I asked that they send/text me a picture of the finished gift basket. Their website says that it may be necessary to make item substitutions. So when I got the picture, it was slightly different from the item on the website but it was very nice. The delivery was made, same day, and I was very happy about that. I'll use Merino's again. read more

I stopped in for the first time last week. I was assisted by the owner Mark. He helped me pick out a bouquet of flowers and a fruit basket to be delivered to a friend. The flowers and fruit were so fresh they would last for days. Mark is meticulous with his business and you are not going to get low grade. I had such a great experience that I stopped again this week to purchase two bouquet of a flower arrangement. Mark is so detailed he said I don't like that one I'm not selling it but I said I loved it and wanted to buy it. Another great price for two beautiful bouquets of flowers that made two special people in my life happy and feel appreciated. All because of Mark's flowers. Terrible experience. Flowers were not delivered until my husband went to the shop to complain. Owner claimed he delivered the flowers personally, and claimed my place of business was closed(untrue). Very hostile attitude from the owner. NEVER had a problem when the location was owned by Farricelli's. We will never do business there again. read more

Owner inconsiderate and rude. Ordered flowers for mom's funeral service. When flowers were delivered during the viewing, we were not happy with arrangement so called and asked designer if we could bring the spray back to be spruced up. He agreed to try, but once we arrived owner came out and told designer to return our money and for us to "get out" and he did not want "our business", because apparently we "were not on his level". When my sister tried to interject to say that the designer was trying to help, the owner cut her off and said "he works for me, he does what I say". Now we were left trying to find a funeral spray hours before her service. read more

Farricielli's have been around for more than 35 years and nothing means more there than Customer service. This Italian family in the New Haven area is well known for it'g freat rose business and quality, but even more for the friendliness and caring that every employee shows.; Whether it is Christmas trees, grave blankets, roses, propane, or gift baskets, these folks do it with pride. I have watched them take eldery customers over to the cemetary across the street to locate family plots for grave blankets. They give to local charities and national like special Olympics. I went there to get flowers for my wife on her birthday and from the beginning the owner was rude giving me an attitude and not being welcoming to a new customer, I went a second time for Mother's Day due to the business being close to my home and I wanted to give her a second chance, however, nothing changed and the business lacks proper customer service. I will never step foot at Farricielli's flower shop as the staff does not appreciate the value of a customer. Not a good experience. read more
