The staff seemed somewhat friendly, but the owner could benefit from a customer relations refresher. I ordered a 100 usd arrangement for my granddaughter's first day of school. I live out of state. The arrangement was left at the door and the balloons that were part of it blew away with the note. My son tried to correct the problem. The store said they would redeliver the balloons the next day. They did not, and instead credited my account 5.97 usd for the balloons. My granddaughter was disappointed two days in a row. The company has not taken responsibility. If it were my shop, I would have taken part of the 20 usd tip I provided in advance and bought three balloons on the way home from work and delivered them. But no. I ordered a bouquet for a cremation service, online. Late at night, on Friday, for a early Monday a.m. service. Blossom Shop called to apologize for not being able to do it, because his morning delivery wouldn't arrive, in-store, until after it was needed. But. He said he would get it done, and get it delivered to the family home on Sat. The logistics of the family fell thru....and their delivery person went the EXTRA MILE, delivering on HIS Sunday day off, because it couldn't be left outside in the frigid cold weather. Now. My order could not be filled so they did a substitution. My wife came home from the hospital on 2/28 and I have to say I was disappointed with the substitution. The planter itself may be better, but the arrangement in the substitution was extremely sparse compared with my original choice. I would think if they knew this the price should have been adjusted and a credit issued to my card. I paid $70.00 for what looks like a $50.00 arrangement on their website. I had a great experience with this shop. I originally went to a local florist in my neighborhood in Boston to handle an arrangement but he suggested I skip the middle man and call this shop (the blossom shop) directly. The man I spoke to was very helpful and friendly. I gave him an idea of my price range and what my relative likes and they put together a beautiful arrangement that she absolutely loved. When I saw the picture of it I was amazed. I've bought arrangements for similar amounts from one of the big online companies and they weren't as nice. I'm certain that by calling the shop directly the money I spent went more to flowers than a bunch of fees. I'd use them again but I hope I don't have to because that would mean someone I love going into the hospital. But if you live nearby I think you should definitely use them. read more

I ordered a bouquet of flowers for a co-worker today who had lost a family member. She is from the New Haven area. Not being from that side of the State, I took a chance and ordered from The Blossom Shop online (I prefer to use small businesses when possible, rather than the "big brand" flower delivery services) this morning at about 9:30. By 10:10, the flowers were already being delivered! I didn't realize that the address was missing the apartment number when I ordered, and the delivery person called and texted immediately, and I was able to respond with the information and she was able to receive the flowers. This was by far one of the best experiences I have had with a florist, especially being so far away, and never having visited the location in person. My boss had a really awful day, and I wanted to get her some flowers to make her feel better. I called Blossoms at 4:50pm to see if they could stay open a bit past 5pm so that I could get there in time to grab some flowers for her for the next day. They were very apologetic that due to prior commitments, no one was able to stay past 5pm. But they offered to come in early (8am) the next day so that I could pick up my flowers before work. The arrangement was so pretty and cheery, and they even gave me an extra $20 off! They also had a counter full of truffles that looked gorgeous. Placed my order online on Friday, morning, received a confirmation email. Saturday 2:00PM get a voicemail "we are not delivering any longer", give them a call, "your order didn't meet our minimum $50 order" (my order was $45.58 for a small bouquet of flowers). "Okay I will pay the extra", in the background the owner is yelling "his order is void, gone, hang up". Shady business, too bad that places like this exist. My Daughter sent flowers to my wife for her birthday and paid for the deluxe arrangement. It was shown to be a very large arrangement n a picnic basket. It wasn't close. It was a 5 inch diameter by 4 inch high basket. The flowers were pretty but the overall arrangement was on that is much smaller than you would find in a hospital gift shop for a fraction of the price. What was worse was the attitude the women had when my wife called to explain. She was dismissive and did not care about the customer in anyway. She made no attempt to find out any additional information and basically hung up the phone. I work at the hospitals in town and would not recommend this shop to anyone in the New Haven, CT area. I ordered flowers to be delivered and I upgraded to the highest upgrade, (the one just above "as shown"). I was totally mortified when I arrived to see the actual size of this arrangement! $85 for a tiny arrangement. Yes, the flowers looked just like the ones in the photo but it was Incredibly small. I can't even imagine what the arrangement would have looked like if I had gone with the "as shown" size. I feel like it reflects on the person who sent them, almost saying the receiver of the flowers doesn't deserve a nice large and full arrangement. read more

Each week we always excited to see what they will bring. They always look beautiful. I think only once did we ever think they weren't gorgeous.
