I had already decided based off of friend's recommendations that I wanted to check out Bare Mineral's powder foundation, and now I had a motivation to do so! I had never used a powder before, so I figured I better head into their store for a proper tutorial! When I arrived, I was warmly greeted, and upon stating my desire to be introduced to their powder, I was sat at the makeup counter and the friendliest makeup artist named Alison came out to attend to me. She asked me about my current makeup routine and what kind of look I was going for. I told her that I wanted something super easy and natural, but that could still cover my redness that likes to pop up here and there. Based off of my preferences, she recommended their original powder that would leave me looking natural. (They also have a matte one.) She found my color match, and explained everything she was doing as she then prepped my face with some of their cleansing and moisturizing products before applying the powder. She was by far the most personable makeup artist I have ever met, and kept me entirely at ease the whole time. Once she finished doing her thing, she had me check in the mirror to make sure I liked how the powder looked on my face, and I was so pleased! It didn't even look like I had makeup on, and my skin looked a hundred times better! Alison made me a list of the products she had used on my face, recommending the ones she thought would be the most valuable in my beauty routine, and offering me samples for ones I wasn't sure about. What stood out to me above all else is that she was never pushy, she never tried to "sell" me products I didn't want or need. Upon my asking her if I needed their setting powder to wear over the foundation, she said I should go ahead and see if the Chanel setting powder I had at home worked before buying theirs. Now that is the kind of integrity that will keep me coming back to Bare Minerals for all my beauty questions and needs! As far as value goes, I couldn't be happier with their products. My skin has looked SO much better since switching to their powder, my routine takes less than half the time, and my goodness, I'll certainly take their $38 foundation over the inferior $60 one from Chanel that I had been using before! Everything about my experience with Bare Minerals has been 5 stars, and I will definitely be returning soon to get a new shade for my winter pale face!
