I called to ask some questions about if they carried certain products (tape for extensions). Spoke to Raegan on the phone, she said she would ask one of the other employees if they carried such product. While on hold, she then hung up on me after a few minutes. I called back and George answered the phone, I told him I was previously taking to Raegan to which he knew that and knew what I was calling about, he was rude and short and said check somewhere else and hung up. It's very sad and disturbing to see the generation lacking customer service or basic communication skills now a days. Please do better people read more

Awesome place to get the hair done! The salon at Ulta is at the back of the store, if you've never been there before. The stylists are friendly, fun, professional and helpful in suggesting new things to do with my hair. Jaime did my hair today and it was so much fun--wonderful experience! I wanted something fun for Halloween, and that was accomplished. Jaime is an excellent stylist and very creative. Redken hair color is what is used at this salon. After my hair was done, I walked around the store for a few minutes. Ulta offers many make-up brands so it was fun to look around. I bought an eye liner and lip gloss that I'm looking forward to using this weekend. The cashier was nice and thanked me for my business and coming into Ulta today. read more

See photos! I specifically said NO RED! I decided to go back to my natural hair color to make things easier due to health issues. My natural hair is light brown. It's neutral, and can blur the line of ash, but has a gold shine in the sun. My hair had previously been blonde for several years, but it grew out while I was recovering medically. I deliberately chose a stylist w/ tenured experience to avoid problems. I had stated that I would like money pieces still, but was told they would not lighten any of my hairs in the front because they were baby hair and that's too fragile. I did say I wanted to go back to my natural color and give it some oomph, like lowlights or a subtle balayage. Something forgiving with grow-out and subtle, but just not flat color, per sé. I WAS VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT NOT WANTING ANY RED. I ADAMANTLY SAID "I DON'T WANT ANY RED, EVEN WHEN THE SUN HITS IT." The colorist assured me I wouldn't have this issue. The lighting in the salon isn't great. My back was to the mirror for the blowout. They turned me around and I was sick, but shocked and embarrassed and I'm not the person to make a scene. It was a full house that day. I thought maybe it wasn't THAT BAD, maybe it was just the bad lighting and darker looking in there. I asked our the front door and the sun was in my eyes. I took a couple quick pics since I had a face full of sun and then had to go to my car to see them. VIOLET-RED! Like RED, POUR A GLASS OF MERLOT ON A WHITE TABLE CLOTH, RED! I was sobbing calling my husband. I even took several more photos and posted asking questions on my FB mom group. It was unanimous that my hair was RED. The store mgr said they couldn't get me in to fix it for 2 whole weeks. He kept pushing pretty strongly to just refund me, but I really wanted this fixed. Red is so hard to fix once it's in and this would be an expensive fix anywhere else. He said there was 1 gal that was the color correction expert but she books out and they couldn't get me in for a full two weeks. Then, 4 days before my appointment, (Is been wearing hats every single day) we got a call that my husband's surgery was moved up and I had to call to reschedule this correction. This time he tells me that now she won't be able to get me in at all for another month and then says I can see someone else to fix it. But this same guy said the other stylist is the color correction expert and no one else could do what she fixes. So why is he trying to pass me off to someone less experienced now and sell me a new narrative? Awe... because again the push to just refund and be done with me! I never raised an octive, was completely respectful, and yet here I am being discarded after the damage has been done and I'm the one waking around feeling like an ugly vampire. I took the refund because I really had 2 choices; get my money back or see how this next person that was not the color correcting stylist, would potentially make my problems worse. I then s/w 3 different salon colorists who all said I'd either have to go EVEN DARKER (it's already 2 shades, plus red, up from my natural color) or go through a bunch of lightening that will damage my hair and take a good 3 visits and over $600! What I've learned: just because someone teaches all the new stylists, doesn't mean they are highly skilled. I should've realized that they're just teaching basics every day, so the detailed science-based artistry could be lacking. Just because someone says they're listening, doesn't mean they are. Also, people have their own agendas and, wanting to do my hair for his Instagram- maybe he just wanted that color on his portfolio and it didn't matter what I, the customer wanted. He even said I wanted a drastic change and that wasn't true. I'd gone through a year of medical treatment and am expecting more, so I wanted to simplify my life and PROTECT MY HAIR. I wish I could add pictures here to show the raw photos I have vs his filtered ones. I was an Ulta Platinum member and they've not just lost my business, THEY LOST MY TRUST. BEWARE! THRY DON'T WANT TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. THEY'D RATHER THROW YOU IN THE STREET AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT. read more

Got everything I wanted but the lady I dealt with at the register just kept giving me and the children I was with dirty looks. We were looking at one of the stands when you first walked in and the lady at the front rudely asked if there was something I was looking for..? I was just browsing and you could clearly tell by the way I was looking at the products on the stand. I just felt very uncomfortable the whole time I was in the store it felt like they were walking around watching us the whole time and I've never felt like that at any other location so I'll be going to Fairlawns location from now on! read more

I would give them Zero stars but I had to give one so this would post!! I had an 11:45 am appointment for everyday makeup. I'm 58 and going to a wedding, and I wanted to do something nice for myself. I didn't want fancy glitter makeup...just a nice and fresh look. I get to Ulta at 11:40 the young man who is suppose to do my makeup says...if you could just look around and shop for about 25 minutes...then I will be with you as I have to cut and blow dry the gal in my chair. I'm like "No I have an 11:45 and I have a wedding to travel to..so no". He says "well maybe if you can come back in like 15 minutes someone else can do you. " I said "I made my appointment at 11:45 for a reason. " He said "okay then you just want me to cancel for you then ". He never once said..I am sorry or let me ask one of the other girls or anything. He was totally indifferent. Just so many ways this could have been handled, basically the attitude was unprofessional and rude. So I would suggest if this is how Ulta runs the salon appointments...I would go elsewhere. What does Ulta's response to my review even mean. This automated and useless. read more

SWEET BABY JESUS! HOW HAS THIS PLACE NOT BEEN REVIEWED AS OF YET!? I must admit, I was always under the assumption that Ulta was the poor (wo)man's Sephora. Boy, was I ever wrong! In addition to having all the regular drug store fare when it comes to cosmetics and skin care (think Almay, Revlon, Neutrogena, Loreal, etc.), Ulta also carries several lines of skin care and make-up that you see in Sephora and high-end department stores (here, think Two Faced, Philosophy, Bare Escentuals, Kerastase, Anastasia, Smashbox, and the like). They also carry an extensive array of hair care, nail, and body products. For their hair care, they really do have it all, including dozens of specialty lines of professional products for every type of hair imaginable. From the looks of it, the back of the store also doubled as a hair salon, since I saw some ladies getting their hair blown out while seated in salon chairs. Towards the front of the store, they sell a nice selection of designer fragrances, and while they may not carry EVERY scent imaginable or all the latest in perfume/cologne, I did see all of my favorites on the shelves. They carried all the best sellers from Chanel, Dior, Marc Jacobs, D&G, and Burberry, to name a few. Did I mention they carry mens skin care, cologne, and hair cair products as well? They also provide eyebrow waxing, which I'm interested to try out. Ulta offers a rewards card similar to the Sephora card where you accumulate points for every dollar you spend at the store. I'm excited to have found an alternative to Sephora (even though I still love them) for my beauty needs. read more

We walked all around the store finding everything I needed and what would be perfect for me. She helped me pick out amazing makeup for my senior pictures. It looked really good on me. I visited the Fairlawn location on February 18th 2018. While walking through the store my daughter found a phone and wallet attached. I turned in immediately to the staff. I noticed another staff member in the same area freaking out over it saying she was going to have a heart attack because it wasn't there. I explained to her I turned it into the staff. She said oh well I layed it there for reason and with attitude walked away and said thanks. I said I'm sorry and your welcome with attitude back. She turned around and said I said thankyou! She should have been thankful someone else didn't find it that wasn't so honest. Who just sets there private stuff around the store knowing there are costumers walking all around? If I was rating Ulta in general compared to other beauty places, I'd definitely give it 5 stars. This is my favorite place to shop for makeup and beauty supplies, and this is coming from a former Sephora VIB Rouge member. Yes, I admit. I once fell into the cult that is Sephora VIB Rouge. Their ploy is to get you to spend ungodly amounts of cash on makeup (which I gladly do anyways without incentive, but what girl doesn't love rewards?) to climb up the ladder of their rewards program. Unfortunately, what you quickly realize is that Sephora doesn't offer much in the way of rewards except for dinky samples that no one wants anyways. This isn't a review for Sephora though is it? In fact, I say all this to mention that Ulta actually rewards it's spenders with MONEY. After spending a certain amount, a percentage of that goes back into rewards that can be turned into store credit in the store on your next visit. Some people choose to save them up to spend on something big, and if you double it up with their 20% off they do a few times a year, you're really taking advantage of Ulta's perks! As for the customer service at this location in particular, it really is hit or miss. I have a few friends that work here, and those that work at the high end counters are trained to sell high end items (for the lay-woman, that's pretty much everything on the right side of the store: Urban Decay, Benefit, Too Faced, It Cosmetics, etc). Unfortunately, that means they're pretty much uneducated and unhelpful when it comes to low-end, or drugstore products. Also, they tend to be somewhat uninformed about lesser known brands as well, so often times I have to seek things out myself since a lot of the staff can't tell me anything I don't already know. Their website can be really inaccurate as well, oftentimes it will say things are in stock when they aren't. Lastly, the lines here can be ridiculously long, even when they have plenty of staff members working, so if you're in a hurry, forget about it! All in all, I really do enjoy Ulta. Truth be told, I tend to prefer shopping online so I can stack my discounts and shop from the comfort of my own home, but when I do stop in here, I always find the store to be clean and well organized and they have pretty much any major brand you are looking for. Their pricing is also competitive, especially considering they usually have BOGO 50% off on rotating drugstore brands and some mid-range brands. read more

My absolute favorite Ulta location! As a stay at home mom that means my child is with me more often than not when I run errands, including going to Ulta. Even when this store is busy multiple team members not only stop to ask if I need help finding a product but also to interact with my daughter. It's an absolute delight to see, they've been this way since her first trip there at 12 weeks old. They're all very courteous, they get on her level to speak to her and I've even had team members ask to/put a little spot of highlighter on her nose(because what girl doesn't love to shine). Other than interacting well with even the smallest guest, I've never had a team member tell me "I don't know" which is great, I love that their crew is knowledgeable in all areas. I would rather have this team order me products not in store and wait for them to be delivered to my home than to go to another location. Thanks to all, keep up the fabulous work. read more

I love this Ulta! The staff is so amazing, helpful and they know their products. All you need to do is ask someone for the head of cosmetics and she makes it a point to make sure you understand how to use their products properly I haven't ever had such a wonderful result in brow maintenance than I did with Meredith at the Benefit Brow Bar. She is a MUST. And Candace in the hair solon gave me the brightest red ombre, I get so many compliments on it, she really knows her stuff. This is one of the worst of the Ulta stores I have shopped. Unfortunately, it is the nearest location to my home. As a result of my numerous bad experiences within the past 1 year, I now shop online at the Ulta.com website and get it delivered without needing to deal with the rude store staff. When I was shopping in store, staff consistently never asked if I needed assistance, even when I would roam up and down aisles obvious that I was unable to find what I was looking for. Then when I did ask for help, the sales associate pointed in a general direction of the store and said, "That would be over there if we have it." These were well-known and UIta advertised brands I was looking for. Inventory is in constant disarray....never able to find anything. Then there is the salon which has inexperienced, distracted stylists. I have had my hair cut there twice by two different stylists with the same result. Hair breakage and frizziness the next day. I had gone to the salon at this location religiously a few years back and was very satisified with any of the stylists. I now see none of them are still working there and I've heard from other customers management changed and the experienced, hardworking stylists left. The attention to cleanliness and detail has disappeared from this location and the "customer comes first" mentality has definitely not been impressed upon the current staff--- store and salon. read more

I had highlights done by Rochelle a few days ago. This was the third time I've had them done there. Not only were they several shades too light (my highlights are actually white instead of medium blonde that I usually get), I cannot brush my hair without huge sections breaking off. My hair is awful looking and ruined now. I have long hair and it's breaking off just an inch beyond my scalp, which looks really terrible. She certainly must have noticed the color didn't come out as what I normally get, but neglected to mention it when she dried my hair. It looked really bright afterward, but I figured it was just super blonde. It wasn't until I ran my fingers through it on the way home and had clumps of fried hair in my hand that I knew something was wrong. I will never return to an Ulta salon and am very upset with what happened to my hair. read more
