When you go to the check out counter, the cashier will ask if anyone assisted you. I like that B&B prioritizes customer service and I noticed during the holidays it gets kicked up a notch. As soon as you step inside the mall you can smell something warm and lovely. All you have to do is follow the scent right around the corner. The scents available for this time of year are Hawaiian such as pineapple, coconut, and mango. Classic scents are also available like Japanese Cherry Blossom, Sweet Pea, and Lemon Verbana. Every scent you smell comes in a body spray, lotion, creme, hand soap, perfume, scrubs, candles and air fresheners. I personally like the wallflowers, they really diffuse well throughout an entire room. Today I bought a new blingy plug in and two new wallflowers: Honolulu Sun and Limoncello.

It was a particularly slow day when I walked into the shop. It was empty, but for me and Jenâs work associate, Cindy. She was friendly and agreed to do my eyebrows at once. The shop is very plain, much like the rest of drive-thru mani-pedi places. They have a couple of pedicure chairs with foot baths and a manicure station, plus a back room for other body waxing services. She just had me sit down on a stool right there in the shop and waxed my brows. She used a Popsicle stick and wax that mustâve been heated a hundred times. Iâm not even sure the Popsicle stick was new. I watched as she reached for the tweezers and the scissors, to trim, and neither had been disinfected. They just want back into a little container afterwards. The cream she put on my eyelids afterwards was greasy, and stung briefly. Afterwards, upon looking in the mirror, I wasnât really impressed with the shaping. I just wanted a clean-up, but she managed to kill the shape that used to be there. I was totally unimpressed with this place. The price was $10, which I think a brow wax should be. But the quality was low, and she should have at least had me lie down on a bed, like most other places do. I will not go back.

The technician was nice enough (although looked as though she had been working hard all day as kept stretching and twisting and grimacing in an effort to get more comfortable) and price was pretty good. What concerned me and ensures I will not go back is the following: While I was there I watched one of their technicians HAND WASH the towels used for services (pedicures - drying legs and feet off, manicures - resting hands and tools on, etc) in one of the FOOT BASINS of the pedicure chairs. For a business that deals with multiple personal hygiene situations (especially feet and natural bacteria and fungus on the skin), I would FULLY expect to see towels sanitized before reuse. There is no way they could have been sanitized in this process as the technician had bare hands and would not have been able to tolerate water hot enough or bleach strong enough to cleanse these towels properly. Thoroughly disappointed and felt slightly itchy afterwards at the thought that my pedicure may have been done with less than sanitary accessories. Don't go there!

When I lived in Edmonton in the 90s, I found Hairisma in 1992, and it was the only place I went for the final four years I lived there. Even if I knew I was visiting, I waited to cut my hair until I visited and booked a haircut here. The stylists here are pretty busy because they have a lot of clients so it's good to book in advance and not just walk in. They are excellent at what they do, and I remember them getting my cuts right every single time. Believe it or not, several of the gals I went to in 1992 are still cutting hair here. That's longevity! They also use Aveda products so quality is tops for what they are putting in your hair. Randomly thought of this place the other day while talking to my parents who are also longtime-loyal clients at Hairisma. This will probably be the only review I write for a salon, but it's an excellent one!

The location is not the most convenient and located in an industrial style area but don't let this fool you. This salon is very nice and so far I've found the staff to be very nice. Kylie was great with me and my hair and took the time to make sure I was pleased with the results. It's also nice that they don't cut too short and will check to make sure they get the length just right! She also offered for me to come back in if ever after going home I felt like my bangs needed to be shorter or if one of my curls went unruly on me! Once again, my hair looks amazing! My two small qualms in the last review, that kept it from being 5 stars, were a) there was never a beverage offered and b) scalp massages were not included. Well, both of those items can be scratched off the list. I am offered a beverage when I sit down and my scalp is always beautifully massaged. The ladies here are truly artists.
