WORST PIZZA! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HERE EVER AGAIN!!! I first ordered a pizza from Merlino's about ten years ago when I first moved into the neighborhood. I remember not liking it, and making a mental note to NEVER order from there again. But tonight I decided to give them a second chance. Their location is so convenient. I thought, maybe it'll be good. Maybe it's improved over the years. IT HAS NOT! The pizza I ordered for pickup was SOGGY--because the jalapeño peppers came from a JAR, and were not fresh! Jarred jalapeños are VERY WET, and should NEVER be used on pizza!!! They will make it soggy every time. Any decent restaurant would know this and would use FRESH jalapeños on their pizza! Fresh jalapeño peppers also taste so much better--with the added benefit of NOT making your pizza SOGGY and DISGUSTING! It was difficult to even pick up a slice of the pizza because it was so wet that the sauce, cheese, and jalapeños were all sliding off!!! In addition to the disappointment of ingredients from a jar, the pizza itself had a BAD FLAVOR, and tasted smoky and burned--like it had baked in the same oven with something else that had burned, but hadn't been cleaned up, causing it to absorb the burned taste. I often believe in giving restaurants a second chance, but I definitely REGRET ordering from Merlino's tonight. I will drive a little farther next time and get my pizza from Pasquale's or Bishop's. Both places have excellent pizza. What was I thinking ordering from Merlino's tonight? NEVER AGAIN! read more

My family orders from Merlinos OFTEN. I placed my order at 11:45 was told 45mins. I didn't get my order until 1:17. Every time I called it was a different excuse. Someone had the flew then it was his wife was pulling up with the order. Then the third time the "OWNER" was a complete JERK. Threatened to cancel my order . He said "you're threatening me" mind you I didn't threaten this man I just simply asked where my order was and he was only upset because he kept getting caught in a LIE about my order . Finally he apologized after being RUDE as hell. Surprising for this being the "owner" I've never been so disrespected by a business because they took 90mins and lied. If I could give Merlino's Pizza 0 stars I would. Such a shame to pay $30 for THIS... I thought it would be hard for someone to jack up a pepperoni pizza, but Merlino's sure knows how to! It was my first time ordering from them and needless to say I never will again. read more

I have ordered a White Pizza with a Italian Hoagie and a 2 liter Diet Coke. The customer service was nice, there was this little girl who was the cashier she was nice. The place smelled nice so I thought the food was amazing. When I got my pizza and hoagie it was $42.78 which was a little pricey for my liking but that's just IMO, when I finally got home which is like 5 minutes from the pizza place. I opened the hoagie first, and there wasn't any Italian sauce it was dry.. the tomato's looked a little bit unfresh but it was manageable my kids did not like it. I don't like having to put Italian dressing on something that's already supposed to have it. The pizza was okay just regular pizza. Anyways I would recommend first time try but i wouldn't go back again IMO. But I recommend you try they have lots of different options maybe your experience would be different. read more

Absolutely astonished. I am blown away by this pizza. One bite and I felt like an angel tear was being dripped into my mouth ever so gently but yet so powerfully I had to grip the seat or else I would be blown away. I could easily eat the entire extra large pizza. The cheese was melted so perfectly. It pulled away from the perfectly cooked crust onto my tongue with such delicacy. The crust was so crunchy, deep cooked, and flavorsome that it blended so well with the sauce and the cheese. One bite of everything together and I was shaking in my seat my family almost had to call the doctors to get me checked out because my reaction was so out of this world. Thank you, truly. Even my crust-fearing friends chow down on the fluffy, crunchy crust at the end of the slice. read more

I paid $21.00 for a steak hogie, fries and a 20 oz drink. I had it delivered to my business. I tipped the driver $10.00 . The sandwich that I got was prepared by someone who didn't have alot of cooking experience. It was very mediocre. The french fries were burnt and cold. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not order from them again. read more

Ordered delivery through grub hub. Didn't receive ice tea but got a refund. Gyro was not that great. Meat doesn't get cut right, too small and choppy. A piece of onion on it was bigger than any slice! Spaghetti was good but has a ton of cheese on top and had to remove it. Better gyros in the area won't get this one again. read more

Dissappointed to say the least, delivery was quoted 45 minutes, 1.5 hours later still no pizza. Call back and talk to girl with attitude said i had a choice money back or new pizza. Wow i really guess you prefer not to have loyal guests. The sad thing is we are only 2 blocks away, but with kids not as easy to get everyone on same page. Parents can relate to this. So they broughr a new pizza, said they would take off the gratuity , and guess what the charge is still on there with gratuity, you lost another family in east mckeesport, i dont think you can honestly continue to lose business read more

Really good red and white pizza. Delivery is hit or miss depending on how busy they are. They say 45 min but sometimes it's 30-45 sometimes it's 45-60 min. Last time we got wings and they were not crispy but were huge. I didn't complain, just reheated them. Will ask for well done next time. The pizza calzone was amazing, pepperoni, mushrooms, cheese and sauce. Freaking delicious. I have had so so deliveries in the past so I cannot give a 4-5 rating. I also understand that busy times equal long delivery times. Good pizza. Will order again. read more

Ordered merlinos for the first time as I just moved across town to north Versailles. Order large pep pizza breadsticks and a 2 liter. Pizza is good , better than chain pizza delivery. Very good crust but light on sauce for my liking. Delivery wasn't bad for a Saturday took about an hour. The breadsticks though are really bad. I love bread sticks but these are more like "knots" completely drenched and soaked in butter sauce. There is about a half inch of butter sauce at the bottom of the box. Would have preferred bread, made into stix , then baked. overall decent experience just don't order breadsticks. I would order pizza from them again as the girl on the phone and delivery driver were friendly and the pizza is solid. read more

We have ordered out from here 3 times. Pepperoni, meat lovers and veggie pizza always delicious. The wings are also very good. The only thing that was not up to par was the hoagie which was part of a special promotion. Delivery time has always been as quoted or shorter and a very reasonable price. read more

Food is good most of the time. Delivery times are pretty bad. Was quoted 45 mins for delivery a few times and ended up waiting 1hr 35 mins the first time, and over 2 hours the second time. When we called to see when our food would be delivered the girl on the phone said they "got busy" and put the owner on the phone who didn't seem to care. read more

I order here alot of times only because every other pizza places around are terrible. Sometimes the food is great and other times it sucks. It's really too expensive for the quality. Mushy pizza in the middle and mushy hoagie buns. Don't order fried foods because their always overdone. Delivery times are awful too. Who wants to wait an hour for food. This place has gone down hill majorly. Not sure if new management or what, but messed up multiple orders in the past couple of months & does not do anything to right their wrongs. When you call to tell them they sent the wrong order, they get an attitude with you rather than apologize and send the correct one and say things such as "I have 40 orders before you" Sorry but I disagree, when you mess up and order, fixing that order should be priority.
