It's disappointing to see how personal they take things when that has no place in a professional environment. Every patient deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and cared for -- but this office completely fails at that. Respect works both ways -- in order to receive it, you must also give it. Unfortunately, this staff doesn't seem to understand that. I had a root canal done on Tuesday, then called the next day (Wednesday) to ask if the dentist could also check my chipped tooth while completing my crown procedure on Thursday. That's when I found out my appointment had been canceled -- and not by me. I never canceled my crown appointment, and it makes absolutely no sense to cancel it when I just had a root canal. When I asked who canceled it, no one knew. The front desk lady showed zero care or concern and acted like the situation didn't matter. The level of unprofessionalism is shocking. On top of the poor attitudes, the cleanliness of this location is completely unacceptable. The rooms are filthy, the floors look like they haven't been mopped, and I honestly question if their tools and equipment are even being sanitized properly. For a dental office, this level of hygiene is disturbing and unsafe. I have decided to take my crown procedure elsewhere -- to a more professional dental office that actually values patients and maintains a clean, welcoming environment. Aspen Dental has completely lost my trust as a patient. Someone from the corporate or franchise office seriously needs to step in and take a hard look at this location. From the lack of professionalism to the poor sanitation and careless communication, this office is a mess. I would not recommend this Aspen Dental to anyone -- save yourself the headache and go somewhere that truly cares about your health and time. Make sure you double-check that Aspen Dental actually canceled your appointment if you no longer want any services from them. They'll tell you it's canceled, but in reality, they often don't follow through -- which feels sneaky, because it means they can still get paid for active appointments. I even have a recording of the manager confirming that my appointment was canceled, the refund amount that should appear in my account, and that I wouldn't be billed for anything else. So if they don't follow through and I end up getting an unexpected bill for a procedure I never even received, I'll be suing Aspen Dental!

Which is there reason every single time. How on earth do you never have a hygienist working at a dentist office. The 2 times I actually have been able to go they barely know what they are doing. A literal joke of a dentist office.

In January 2024, I went for an emergency extraction because one of my teeth had pushed into my gum…read moreafter crunching down on a nut. The dentist also extracted a second tooth that she said needed a root canal and asked if she should extract. I was in such pain and agreed which probably was a mistake. Then I went to the manager and she set up a follow-up periodontal treatment plan with an appointment. A couple days later I had to return because I was in even worse pain and my gum had become infected. The dentist prescribed pain killers and antibiotic. I called back and cancelled my periodontal treatment. Later, I found my credit card was charged for the periodontal treatment -- I had earlier had a problem with another dentist like that and insurance said, first of all, they need to submit the bill to them first and if the patient owes anything, then submit a bill to the patient. I called back and complained and they said they would refund me. About a month later I got a check in the mail. So, that was what I thought would be the end of my relation with Aspen Dental -- thank God. However, last month, more than a year after my experience, I started getting texts, saying I owed them money but didn't explain why. I ignored it at first because I had submitted my insurance and thought I was all paid up. But the texts continued so today I called and they said they refunded me twice. I knew I got the check in the mail, so how could that be? It turned out they also refunded my credit card. I rechecked and sure enough I did get a credit. Now, I'm not sure what to do about this. They made all these mistakes: 1. I got an infection 2. They charged for a procedure I didn't receive 3. They charged before submitting the bill to my insurance as is the appropriate procedure 4. They mistakenly sent two refunds 5. They text me more than a year later saying I owe them money without telling me why All I can say, if you're looking for a new dentist, go to Moorehead Dentistry, which is just up the road over by the Walmart in Lebanon.

My wife went in for her appointment, and from the moment she entered the lobby until she left the building, she felt everything mentioned in all the post reviews. She was forced into dental plans and/or coverages...and was not able to be seen until the finances were in order. This is after a long conversation about whether our insurance covered what we were asking to get done. I have never seen her so rattled. Worst experience ever!! I should have read the reviews before putting my lovely wife through that!!

Came in for my checkup which was simple and quick at the beginning of the year and was told to come back later for the cleaning, given a reminder card and email. Annoying but okay I can do that. Come back and the "system error" in APRIL kicked my appointment in June. No update email about potential issues or suggestion to check my appointment. Arrive dead on time and then sent on a goose chase to get an appointment another 15 min further tomorrow. Already lost PTO and gas for this one. We will see if tomorrow is real or another prank.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Aspen Dental - Middletown, OH…read moreI had the worst dental experience imaginable with Aspen Dental in Middletown, OH. My initial consultation was promising, with the staff assuring me everything would go smoothly, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. After my first appointment, I was told my dentures would be ready in two weeks, and the total cost for both top and bottom dentures would be $4,553.00. Since I had insurance and was a self-pay customer, I financed $1,200, leaving a balance of $3,353. I was excited and optimistic, especially after being told that my dentures would be ready so soon. Five days after my first visit, I paid the remaining $3,353.00 in full. However, just two days before my scheduled pick-up appointment, I received a voicemail requesting my insurance information, which was confusing since I had already prepaid in full. When I called back, I couldn't get through to anyone at the Middletown office and was transferred to their call center. They informed me the Middletown office was closed, with employees working from home. This was frustrating, especially considering the sensitive personal information they were handling while working remotely. It seemed like they had no idea what was going on. The next day, I finally spoke to someone who explained that the request for my insurance information was just a "standard practice" for patients without insurance. Despite prepaying, they assured me I could pick up my dentures the next day. But when I was just 10 minutes away from the office, I received another voicemail telling me my appointment was canceled due to a delay with my dentures. I called the office first thing in the morning to ask about the delay, and they said they couldn't give me an estimated time frame because "the lab was delayed." The worst part was that this was the first time they mentioned the delay, even though I had been in constant communication with them. After a bit of thought, I recalled them bragging about having an onsite lab, so I called back to ask for more details. It turns out the reason for the delay was that my scans had been incomplete - something they had failed to identify until the day before my appointment. The incompetence was astounding. Why hadn't this been caught in the two weeks since my first appointment? Why was I only finding out about this last-minute? They apologized and asked me to come in the following Monday to redo my scans and wait another two weeks for my dentures. I showed up Monday morning at 8:25 AM, only to be told I didn't have an appointment. After some back and forth, I was eventually told that the dentist who had done my scans had been fired. Then, a new dentist informed me that the pricing I was quoted was wrong. I had been given the incorrect location's pricing, meaning the $4,553.00 cost would now be increasing by $1,600. At this point, I was extremely frustrated. Not only had I been misled and given incorrect information from the start, but now they were asking me to come up with more money for their mistake. I was left with two options: pay the additional $1,600 at pick-up or get a full refund. I chose the refund, as the entire process had been nothing but a headache. I would not recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication, and constant mistakes left me feeling completely disregarded as a customer. I can only imagine the generic, unhelpful response they'll give to this review, but it only further proves that they're focused on money, not patient care. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.
