The boardwalk isn't too long but there's enough room for all the visitors who come by. Purchase tickets at the counter or online, and then take the elevator down. You enter and exit the walk through a tunnel which stays very cool. It feels amazing on a hot day! There are a couple areas where you can take steps down to a dock that's closer to the water. There's also a lot of informational signs about that stretch of the river too, so you can learn more about the water itself and how the land was developed. Once you're down there, there's nowhere to get water, so make sure to stock up at the lobby gift shop and refreshments.

An elevator takes you down 70m go the base of the Niagara Gorge and onto a beatiful, well maintained boardwalk trail. FYI, It is not a long trail. This trail takes you right up close along the Niagara Rapids. Unique view compared to the typical Nigara Falls. You walk back the same way you came to get back to that elevator which leads you back to the entrance/gift shop. Washrooms located accross the street. Option for a shuttle that goes to and from Clifton Hill area (about a 10min drive) from the central Niagara attractions.

In recent years this park has become a beautiful place to bike, hike or just hang out. It has a…read moretrail circling the outside of the park with wildflowers, local plants, butterfly attracting plants, environmentally friendly plants all around. Along side the path there are workout/exercise areas. There's even an area dedicated to exercise like an outdoor gym with an exercise bike and other gym machines. There are a few playgrounds for the kids, picnic tables, baseball diamonds and shelters. People fly model airplanes which are so fun to watch and groups play crickets sometimes in the large open areas. There are tennis/pickleball courts and basketball nets too. Plenty of easy parking. Easy access off the 190 thruway. If you follow the trail northwest out of the park it continues through Niagara University...from there you can access the Shoreline trail to Niagara Falls (South) or Lewiston (North). Across the road from the park is the actual reservoir. In winter there's a sledding hill, ice skating and warming house to use. There's also access to the rim around the top of the reservoir with great views. The path up there is gravel but tightly packed and wide (a roadway for the Power Authority) so easy to bike. Located at the corner of Military Road and Route 31 (Saunders Settlement Road) in the Town of Niagara it is close to shopping areas on Military Rd. as well. The sidewalks have been redone and are smooth enough to ride easily to your shopping destination. For me this is a convenient park to ride through on my way to the stores or just to ride around for fun.

I ma a huge rock hound, crystal nut- not just because my name is Crystal, I've loved picking up shiny rocks since I was a small child. Quartz and mica are two I remember finding often as a child. Here- they had a huge inventory of various raw and polished stones, fossils, animal bones and such. And that was just in the Nature Exchange! The park is wonderful too, plenty of trails to lead you down by the river, wonderful trees, great overlook viewpoints throughout. As part of the Niagra Parks system, they have bike trails too. We stopped here twice, once to explore and once for me to pop back in with my photos and pick out a raw piece of turquoise! A birthday win for me! Shout out to the young lady who talked to me in the morning, she wasn't there when I returned- and I am pretty sure the 2 young men thought I was crazy (I am), but they were all very helpful for this big kid out playing in nature!
