as a young boy i was born in buffalo new you looking at the pictures of the black rock canal ,,my grandfather use to take me to the foot of ferry st fishing by the dump and sometimes we would get up about five am and walk the wall almost to the end .i was looking at la saile park across to the break wall,to the very spots where we would catch lots of jack perch and sheeps heads ,so for the person that took those places of la saile park good job..i left buffalo right after the 1976,,1977 storms..i will be 71 on. the 09-26-2025 i really miss fishing there now i live in a place call tracy california i have been here since 1979,,again thanks for the pictures the brought tears to my eyes thank you...you made a old man happy read more

LA-Sale Park is out in California, and it's basically like a yard sale for movie stars and wannabe actors. So you can pick up all kinds of crazy things that you wouldn't find at a regular Yard Sale elsewhere in the country. Here in Buffalo, though, we have a beautiful waterfront park along the Niagara River, with grilling and soccer and a dog park and lots of gorgeous views and sunsets. If you squint, you can see the Maple Syrup across the water glinting in the Canadian sunlight. I play soccer here... but not too often because it is the worst field I've ever played on. However other than soccer, I come here because it's one of my fave spots anywhere in the city. You can see the towering shapes of Statler and City Hall across the thundering 190 highway and train track at one end of the park. You have the Barkyard and all kinds of interesting buildings at the other end. And then you have the beautiful waterfront and the pathway along it. Not always the cleanest, not always the safest area at night, but during the day, in the summer, it's stunning. I was here just 3 weeks ago for a soccer game actually. I'm not supposed to be playing, but my goodness, what fantastic views from here on a blue sky day. It's one of the best natural settings for a park in Buffalo. The park isn't always the cleanest, the soccer field is the worst in the region (possibly the country), and the driveways are full of enormous treacherous potholes, but just because of the location and the beautiful views, I have to give it a 5. read more

I recently spent a little time at this park taking a walk by the water. Its lovely. I saw it from the lighthouse view and decided to come check it out. Its been years since I was here last. Those years have done it well. There are nice picnic tables that are functional. There are benches by the water. There is parking, although that may get busy on the weekends. The dog run is terrific. It was also clean when I visited. However, the park itself could use some trash pickup. I don't understand why people who use a park leave it messy. Its your park. Don't you want it nice next time you come? Regardless of the mess left by some, much of it was clean and enjoyable, and Ill come back on a warm day for a cool lake breeze. read more

Monkey "WhereMonkey" T.'s review of this park is great. Read it. That guy is hilarious by the way. You should follow him. He's based out of Washington state but he reviews all over the country with his little monkey stuffed animal. Kinda weird and mostly breaking yelp suggestions with all the non-human photos but he is legit and worth checking out. We stumbled upon this park while in Buffalo for a wedding. It was nice to escape and hang out in a public park for a little bit during a crazy weekend of wedding madness. read more

A group of friends and I played softball here over the summer through the Queen City Softball League. We came here every Sunday for 3 months straight. It's so hard to believe that just a few minutes outside of Allentown lies this beautiful park, situated right on the lake. I'm a country boy who never really feels at home with too much concrete so all the green grass here makes me feel at ease. The softball diamonds are very well kept and maintained. The only downside would be the bathrooms near the diamonds- but it's a park so it's not like I'm expecting The Plaza Hotel. The view of downtown from the park is beautiful. They also have soccer fields, playgrounds, and a dog park situated here, as well as walking trails along the water. One of my new favorite places to go in the city. read more

a 5 minute drive from Allentown and you reach to Erie lake waterfront walk, picnic, bike, or BBQ, this is an amazing place to do so a gorgeous sunny day, touched by the cold breeze, the smell of the fresh grass, the sound of the waves, and the sun reflection on the water surface is a good day by any standards its not crowded mid-week, so i get the chance to let my dog off-leash and play fetch with him using the natural wooden sticks laying around well maintained grass, multiple picnic areas with covering pergolas, and BBQ grills on the side a kids playground area with swings overlooking the lake plenty of free on the street parking the one drawback is the lack of bathrooms, i found one portable bathroom so far read more

La Salle Park is one of the largest parks in Buffalo, and the largest along the waterfront. It offers beautiful views of the Peace Bridge and Lake Erie. It is full of a variety of facilities, from lakeshore strolling, fishing, and bicycle riding to soccer fields and even a public swimming pool. There are plenty of washrooms and a ton of parking. There are lots of gazebos and picnic tables for having an outside BBQ, and there are lots of benches along the waterfront for just sitting and chilling. My only complaint is that the bike path, part of the Riverwalk system, could use some serious maintenance. read more

The dog park is great, who doesn't love being on the waterfront? But as with any dog park it's only as good as the owners who bring their dogs there. The park is very spacious, had large fenced in areas for small breeds and large breeds. On a nice day there are easily 30 dogs there and the space is large enough to accommodate. The only problem with the large space is that many owners congregate together to talk and do not pay attention to their dogs who may be misbehaving which can get hectic on a busy fay. It also gets quite muddy in the spring time and after rainfall so don't wear nice sneakers! read more

Older park with lots of area to roam around. Often lots of geese hanging around. There are lots of little gazebos / shelters around for shelter from the sun. It is cooler here when the heat it high as it has a nice on shore breeze. A nice area for kids to play and fairly modern play equipment. Or actually THE WATERFRONT as it was called when I was growing up. This park has definitely picked up over the years. Growing up it really was poorly cared for and had few pavilions to use. I recently had a small family reunion up here and I was shocked to see all of the pavilions and families out using them. I remember walking along the rail near the water and seeing lots of debris and foul smelling trash floating around. I will say that it's alot better than I remember. I love the park area and how it's easily accessed from many different pavilions. Another thing I appreciated is although there are many pavilions, there is ALOT of open areas to play ball and tag and just run around without running into a nearby family. This skate park it very nice. I took my children here on Saturday, they are 10 and 11, they loved this place. Many ramps and hills to skate on. My only issue was I did not expect so many grown adult men to be at the park. When my family arrived there were about 10 men, age ranged from at least 18 up to 30 years of age. I felt it was inappropriate for these men to be smoking and drinking at this skate park which is free and open to the public and I pressumed was made for kids to have a place to have fun and not be around those elements. While my sons were getting a hang of balance and figuring out the comfort level for skate ramps, I heard one of the men say to his friend "these kids are getting super annoying "the other man replied "I'm getting sick of em too" . This is very disappointing and makes me uneasy about being at this skate park. I would have given this skate park 5 stars if it wasnt for the ADULTS that have over run this place and use it to "hang" smoke and drink beer. read more
