My son started Kindergarten at Merryhill Elementary this school year. We can't say enough good things about this school. In terms of academics, we are overjoyed with how much hands on learning he is doing in his own classroom and the specialty classes. Most days he comes home with marker, paint, and glue on his uniform -- a sure sign of a great day. The curriculum challenges and interests him and he's encouraged to use his imagination. The ratio of teachers to students is wonderful. When he needs help a teacher is available to guide him. But what really makes this school special is the people. From the moment you walk in you are met with smiling faces, a friendly greeting, the feeling you and your kid belongs. You can see that the teachers and the administrators are happy to be there and that feeling extends to the kids. To see my son skipping in and out of school is magical. The school becomes part of your child's and your community. There are lots of special days and activities to get the kids excited to be a part of something. If you are seeking a great education, a place your child will feel safe, and most importantly a place your child will be happy give this school a look. read more

Merryhill is a fantastic elementary school. It is a wonderful mix of academics and positive socialization for kids. Our family has been with Merryhill, now, for two years beginning with Mrs. Bailey in PreK (such an amazing teacher), Mrs. Zellis in TK (a wonderful teacher who created a family environment in her class while still building academic skills needed for kindergarten), and now with the lovely and strong academic classroom environment that Mrs. Toranzo and her colleague Mrs. Jordan have created this year. In addition the STEM teacher, Mrs. Anderson, and the Spanish teacher are excellent. Finally, Ms. Kimberlee is so welcoming and so supportive of all the parents each day. It's a great place and I highly recommend it. read more

Amazing team specially in the front office they take the time to help us in everything we need

I don't have any children gone to the school at all but I went there to check on the school a couple of times; unfortunately, we let our child go to another school for reasons that for the most part have nothing to do with Merryhill. But I do have positive feedback about this school. We came in our tour and we were impressed by the admin staff from the front desk all the way to the principal. The school has many trees, so a lot of shade for the kids to play in Las Vegas sun. If your child is sensitive to sunburn, this is the school for them. The school is well-equipped with different types of activities other than academic focus. Every classroom seems very well equipped with arts, natural science, and math learning tools. There are playground, soccer course, basketball, volleyball, and a theater stage for outside activities which I loved. Students are given experience on different aspects of life than just math, science, and English. The school teaches different musical instruments and has a large indoor stage for performing. The students look very diverse. The staff looks very diverse. And the principal herself is exceptional in communication and welcoming new students like ours. If there is a reason for us not to have our child go there, it is because our child is an emotional kid in dealing with friends as he is very attached to whomever he makes friends with. He just left his pre-K school with no connection with any of the good friends he had been with for two years and the parents made a very big deal not to have any contact so our child went through quite some level of depression after the school ended. We do not want him to have to deal with it again so we sent him to a K-8 school for him to stay with his friends much much longer. Unfortunately Merryhill only goes to sixth grade which will give our child an extra disconnection with friends. read more

My 9yr old twins have been at Merryhill snowtrail since they were 3yrs old and have come on so great. Merryhill have a family feel to the place and my children simply love it there. All the teachers there are fantastic but our favorite has to be Mrs Carrick in third grade. She went out of her way to see to every individual child's needs and at times when my kids were struggling she really helped them get through it and they not only loved going to school again but became grade A students. I've never seen such kindness & generosity in a teacher. She is definitely an asset to the school. read more

My son has attended Merryhill School since Preschool. Here we are years later, he's in 6th Grade, and we've never changed schools. What initially attracted us to Merryhill was the curriculum. We moved to Las Vegas from Germany, where our son had completed a year of German kindergarten. They start earlier there and when we moved here, he was only old enough for preschool. Thinking we'd have a year to sort out where he would go for American kindergarten, he short-circuited our plans when he asked, "when do I get to go back to school?" After an extensive search of options, we settled on Merryhill. For those who are interested, Merryhill is a part of the Nobel Learning Communities. Here's what we've liked over the past seven years: As mentioned, the curriculum. What he was learned in preschool here was almost identical to what he learned in Germany, only in English. We were pleased it was more than just a glorified day care and that he could repeat what he had learned with English as the primary teaching language. It was an actual curriculum with distinct subjects taught in a manner that the students were very prepared to move toward grade school. Comparing notes with friends, his kindergarten year looked like most 1st grade curriculums. As he progressed through elementary school, the curriculum always remained challenging and enjoyable for him. Small class sizes. The student to teacher ratio is wonderful. There aren't too many kids in any classroom. Rather than just adding more kids to a class if enrollment is high, the school adds another teacher and class. The teachers do a great job providing for the common education of the class at large, but also have the ability to tailor instruction in the classroom (and even more so, the homework) to individual needs. Kids who need a little more help get it. Others who are excelling receive work that will push them forward without negatively impacting the other students. And it's all done without highlighting the additional help a child needs, or the accelerated curriculum another is working on. The kids just see the other kids as other students and friends in the classroom. The faculty knows all the students. Being a small school with a reasonably stable set of teachers over the years, all the teachers end up knowing the students. This has been wonderful in that there's great continuity as a child progresses from grade to grade. It also prevents the little rascals from trying to hide their past (good or bad) when they enter the next grade. The flip side of this is all the students know all the teachers, making the environment much friendlier and safer. The kids feel free to approach any teacher with a problem or concern, or to share an accomplishment. Students work with students. Related to the familiarity between all the students and teachers, at select times of the year, the students from higher grades spend time with students from the lower grades. What our son enjoyed most about this as he moved into the higher grades was having the chance to read with and to younger students. It improved his self confidence, his reading skills, and he made new friends in a way that just wasn't on the playground. Growth! Starting this current academic year (2018-2019), the campus on Snow Trail began adding a middle school. Next year the plan is to add a 7th Grade, and the following year an 8th Grade to complete the middle school. There are so many more positive things I could say. If I had to do it again with another student at the start of their school journey, I would go right back to Merryhill without hesitation. If you're looking for a good elementary or (emerging) middle school, definitely consider looking at this school. read more

My daughter started attending Merryhill Preschool at 8 weeks old and it just made sense to move on to the Elementary for us. We have been really happy with our decision. The class sizes are small and allow for customized attention on the areas different kids need help with or even advanced lessons if they're excelling. The teachers are compassionate and really care about the children. The administration is simply amazing and they arrange things meticulously. I really appreciate the well-rounded curriculum. In addition to her main class, my child goes to different classes for art, music, technology, PE, Spanish. This gives her experience with a range of teachers and teaching styles at an early age. I'm really glad to be with Merryhill, and I will be sad when it is time to move on. read more

This school is AMAZING and well worth the cost! The staff are professional, empathetic, and communicative, and it's clear they view the school as a community with a desire to work closely with parents. I was recently under the weather and thought it prudent to get "a test," and of course wanted to pull my 5-yr-old daughter out of school until the results came back. Upon contacting them they had her ready to go, and were incredibly supportive- the principle even sent me a follow up note to see how I was doing later that day! My test ended up coming back negative during the night a few days later, and because of their quick responses to early morning messages we were able to get my daughter back in school instead of her missing another day (which she was very pleased about because she LOVES it there). In a challenging time full of challenging decisions for parents, it is awesome to know that my daughter's school is so supportive and professional; they look for solutions, not problems, and that's exactly what we need! I know they will work with me, 100%, during any hardships we may face in the future and that is so stress-relieving amidst the rest of all this. Thank you Merryhill!! I love this school. They were so unfazed of my son who has delayed speech. They welcomed him and now he is a thriving child who doesn't stop talking. The teachers and administration really care here and I am so happy to have found this place. I highly recommend this school. read more
