While Candil Hall offers a great curriculum, there are too many problems that contribute to a poor learning experience for children. First, the staff turnover is incredible. One year my daughter had 3 different teachers. Each year they seem to have all new teachers and staff is constantly coming and going- other than about half of the teachers who are all related to the owner. The school is family owned which can contribute to a family feel of the school overall. However, if you are not related to the family, personal friends with the family, or volunteer with the school, your child and your family will be outcasted and excluded. Only some kids are invited to play sports. Kids they do not want on their sports teams are not even invited to try out. The principal/owner Mr. Diller regularly yells and swears at the kids. He is demeaning and borderline abusive to the students. Candil Hall also allows bullying and in some cases promotes or praises students who bully. Children who are bullied are not protected by the school. They get no help even when they feel so unsafe they don't want to go to school. Student to student threats are not taken seriously. It's incredibly disappointing the lack of concern and support shown to children at this school. While my child did leave there more advanced academically, she also left there with psychological trauma, fear, distrust of schools and teachers, and overwhelming feelings of confusion because she felt so unsafe in the place that she should feel the safest. I regret ever sending my child to this school and wish I could undo all of the trauma Candil Hall has caused her. Additionally, if you ever have any issues with the teachers, the staff, the family, etc. you will be talked negatively about and they will spread rumors to other parents about you. This school is not worth it, please look elsewhere. read more

LOVED this place! My daughter went here for 3 years and we had nothing but an awesome experience here! For starters they celebrate holidays, which some places don't. They have a Thanksgiving show, Christmas show, end of year party/celebration, and other fun stuff for kids and parents. My daughter is going into 4th grade now, and she still remembers this place and her teachers. Pretty incredible since she was here from ages 2-5. Very friendly, family oriented staff, that takes the time to get to know you and your kid(s). I think the bad reviews for this place are from "Karen's" that won't be happy anywhere. My son has been coming here since October 2017. The curriculum is great, the teachers are very hands on, and the owner of the business cares! Anyone who wants to put trust in someone to care for their children, this is it! My son is 3 now and they worked with him through all his triumphs from mommy leaving him behind to go to work and were also very helpful on Potty training! Parents PLEASE Beware...................... My Wife & I experienced every parent's worst nightmare on 02/10/2015. Our 4 year old son, who has been attending candil hall since he was 18 months old, went outside the school unnoticed while he was under their watch and was abducted by a stranger while he was in school.... I received a call from Candil Hall's Director of Operations on February 10th at about 2PM that they had lost our son right after lunch, she informed me that someone had found him in the street and had drove him to their house. Candil Hall's Director of Operations then said that the police have recovered our son and they want my wife and I to come to the school so they can finish their investigation. As you can imagine my heart dropped, I called my wife at her job and headed to the school at what seemed to be the longest 15 minutes in my life. When I finally arrived at the school there were a police officer & the School staff waiting for me. I asked them what had happened and the school director explained casually that there was a mishap where our son had left the school unnoticed right after the lunch break. Our son was then spotted by a lady that was driving on Rainbow Blvd who placed our child in her car and drove him to her residence and then called the police. The policeman picked him up from the ladies house and returned him to the school! What was really shocking was when I asked them how he exited the school, they replied through the front door! I asked them how can he leave the school through the front door unnoticed? They carelessly replied that the person that is supposed to be upfront had stepped out for a minute! I was really disturbed by their behavior towards this incident; they all seemed MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THEMSELVES THAN OUR CHILD. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, they blamed our 4 year old's desire to run & hide as the reason for this disaster. As a matter of fact since the incident no one from the school has called to check on our son or us! Now we feel obligated to make all parents aware of what we went through due to the fact that even though this incident was reported to the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, CHILD CARE LICENSING and Candil hall now has a lack of supervision complaint on their record, it only remains there for one year. We did not know this but all parents have the option of contacting the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, DIVISION OF PUBLIC & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, CHILD CARE LICENSING and get a history of all facilities in Nevada. We ask all parents to contact Child Care licensing if they have concerns or are unclear about a child care facility's history before they make their final decision. In this case our son was found but we can't help to think about what COULD have happened. A simple search on the LVMPD will tell you that there are 9 sex offenders that live within a one mile radius of this school. What if one of them would have got to our 4 year old before this lady did? If something happened to another child, we would be devastated that we did not do everything we could to protect all the children in this school. We certainly do not want any other parent to endure the horror that we experienced. read more

Due to the review about the child making its way out the front door, Yelp reviews have been solicited by the owners. Horrible experience at Candil Hall. It's family first, not children first. Almost everyone here is related by blood or marriage and TRUST ME, the only benefit of that is not for our children but for the employees. (You should see their Christmas card! Would you like to?! Fireball, anyone?) Politics and unprofessionalism aside, the place is an eyesore. My child was subject to moving desks around in accordance with rainy days because the roof leaks every time. Food is served without gloves and snacks are placed on bare tables. Teachers make up their own curriculum and teachers have ZERO guidance. Grades are arbitrary, using numbers 1-4 but teachers are not allowed to give ones and twos. Do your research folks. Yelp seems to be front and center, but several reviews are done by family members and teachers in disguise. Please feel free to contact me. While on tour, ask why they have lied to TWO state agencies? Some people should not be in the business of education... Why whine about a TRUTHFUL online review?Unclean hands, .... Just keep punishing the whistleblower. Defame Edit: yes. Research where you send your child - no brainer. Just don't expect CH to be honest. How awful you wait an entire year to get front security and then blame it on the employee bullied out of that place who wouldn't even return for a paycheck. Research! Google! Facebook!!! The truth is out there. Also, if you're bothered to take a tour of this sinking ship as the owner encourages - ask - how on earth to they justify not taking responsibility for the child that got out? Not only do they do nothing to improve security measures (well, until they want to defame me and say doors are locked after I leave and new doors are on the way!!!) but even a year later and they continue to fight the legal action taken against them. Hello!! You are in the business of child care!!! Don't fire the employees on duty (they are family, can't) and blame the child! Slick. Oh, and now that I have taken legal action - post my photos all over the Internet and attempt to interfere w my husbands job because taking mine away wasn't bad enough! EVIL resides at CH. yeah. My son has been attending Candil Hall since he was 18 months; he is now close to 7 years old and I have had endless compliments from strangers about how intellectual and articulate he is. I definitely have Candil Hall to thank for that! This family owned and operated school is filled with the most caring teachers and staff who treat every child as if they are all apart of a huge family. The curriculum and assignments are very organized and easy to understand, making it simple for a parent to jump in and explain homework to their child. They have fun seasonal events and truly encourage family involvement in every aspect. We especially love the "Parents Night Out" - an event offered one Saturday every month, in which parents can leave their kids in the safety of the school for a fun date night out. Candil Hall has always been an atmosphere where children can learn, grow and thrive. I feel the biggest reason for the successes I've seen with this school over the years is the sense of community. The staff knows all of the parents and all of the kids names. The children who attend know that they're important. Whether it's preschool or the elementary ages, Candil Hall goes to great lengths to ensure continued success in cultivating an environment that will encourage a child to feel comfortable with their surroundings and excited to learn. Candil Hall is hands down the best preschool I could ask for. Their teachers are genuine, companionate, caring, loving, and my daughters are obsessed with all of them. I used to be nervous to move my daughter up to the next grade level because I thought that she'd miss her previous class, but the teachers are so welcoming and fun that she loves each and every single one. I've worked at a private preschool by the name of Merryhill and I can genuinely say that Candil Hall is just as great, if not better (and a fraction of the price). My daughters are so advanced and I give the school majority of the credit. It's unfortunate that reviews below have to alter the truth and give false information on this amazing school. I will 100% vouch for Candil Hall being the best place for students. They have a security key at the front door, cameras are being installed, and there is ALWAYS someone at the front desk in case an unfamiliar face tries to walk through. I've had the opportunity to put my children in free childcare at a trusted facility and I choose to further their education at Candil Hall because it's well worth the money. My daughter attended this school for preschool and again for summer camp. We absolutely love Candill Hall. Academically, She entered Kindergarten well ahead of any other kids and has continued to excel. We have experienced nothing but professionalism and compassion from the staff. We have been clients here for three years. This is a family business and they treat their clients like family as well. We have seen very little change in staff, which is nice. The entire staff knows all of the kids and the kids are all friendly with each other. The school puts on a lot of seasonal plays which are always a lot of fun. The children are well taken care of, well fed, and have lots of fun. The summer camp is great for kids too. They take lots of field trips and always leave the kids looking forward to the next day. Once a month the school offers a weekend parent's night out. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because sometimes the front desk gives information at the last minute instead of allowing you enough time to plan. read more

Very personalized attention to all of your child's needs, the staff is always friendly and immediately available to assist you and answer all of your questions. My daughter adores all of her teachers. She is eager to go to school e v e r y s i n g l e day, she is very comfortable in the school's friendly and stimulating environment and that ultimatly transfers onto her academic achievements.
