I'm glad yodarocks had a good situation with a single police officer in North Wales, however I am…read morecompelled to post this review. As an early retired Dorset Police officer and having lived in North Wales since 2001, I've had to require the police in regard to repeated criminal harassment, assault with a vehicle, and threats made to kill against me (latter in sight and sound of solicitor witness). I have to say my overall experience of this Force is that they are the most unprofessional, indolent, deceitful body of persons it has been my misfortune to repeatedly have contact with, including the much maligned Metropolitan Police. In my opinion, some of NWP officers (Caernarfon and Llandudno based, you know who you are!) quite honestly would have been kicked off the force in Dorset in the '80s. Past complaints to the Chief Constable and senior ranks by me and my solicitors were largely ignored, unactioned or whitewashed, because I can confirm the main objective of supervision"dealing" is to exonerate their fellows at any cost. Since 2001 matters encountered have included oppressive behaviour, serious neglect of duty, falsehood and prevarication, and total dishonesty in words and actions by various NWP officers, including (get this) arresting me on suspicion of criminal damage in 2006 as the instigator after my ex-wife brought 3 men to Caernarfon Court child contact proceedings, who threatened my life twice inside the Court, smashed into my car in the car park to prevent me leaving, and proceeded for several minutes to kick the windows, doors and mirrors causing a deal of damage, shouting they were going to f***ing kill me, and even screaming to witnesses that this is attempted murder. The police officers attending clearly were on friendly terms with 2 of these men, chatting and laughing. They never arrested or cautioned the men, and when I complained 2 weeks later of no action or contact as crime victim, they collectively denied, procrastinated, gave false reports, and pleaded"no recollection," sticking together with their stories as bad apples tend to do. They tried to fit me up to counter the serious complaint aginst one of the negligent police officers, no other way of saying it. Weeks after being arrested and DNA'd, the CPS sent the file back to the police with decision there was no evidence against me. I received a terse phone call from the station officer to tell me, no action was ever taken against the 3 offenders, no apologies or explanations given, no complaint procedings invoked against those officers, Nothing! Sorry, my professionally based and personal opinion is that North Wales Police is, as I stated to a Llandudno sergeant last year, UNIQUE for all the worst reasons. The only decent officers I'd encountered had been the late Inspector Merion Casey (a true gentleman and total professional, God Bless him) and an Inspector Tony Wan, who was open enough to admit in my home in 2006 that North Wales is as close to being a Police State as it can be without openly declaring it. NORTH WALES POLICE, I hope you're proud of yourselves, either there are officers who should be booted out, or others who know of them and either sit quiet, tolerate the situation or protect their fellow officers for whatever reason. Either way, this new Chief Constable should ask why this former Dorset police officer has the extraordinary opinion that no North Wales Police officer will be welcome into my home without a warrant, although given my repeated unpleasant experiences with this sad Force over the years it is doubtful this will EVER be the case!
