After visiting with a few (supposedly top 6) fence contractors; no doubt Mesa had the licenses, the insurance and the experience to do it. The price was about where mid range but really came down to trusting who knew how it needed to be done. They have been in business for a very long time. Leland came to see, and was the only one who put down all the main items that could be including jackhammer work for what seemed to needing fixing (he just knew from experience with both commercial and residential and that experience was very valuable). He was professional, on-time, with solid experience and with a quote right there with their licenses written on it (all done right as a professional company). The guys that came to do the work have been doing this for years, Fernando & Jose were super friendly and easy to work with. It was a shared fence and my neighbor and I were thankful for their experienced work in a prompt and timely manner. I called 3 weeks ago, was given an Appointment for Leland (quote estimator) to come out on Monday, 3/21 between 8-10 am. Needless to say no one showed up or have received a call since. Leland called my husband before the appointment time & basically said that they couldn't do anything that we needed. Mesa Fence Company - After reading reviews online seeking a company to put up a fence on part of our property, we contacted a few. Mesa Fence came out and gave us a bid. The three bids were close in price, but I was impressed with the person giving the bid and his clarity. It took another month to save up enough money and that week the virus hit. This delayed the work, but they kept us informed and then gave us a date. Since it was only about 60 feet, only two guys showed up and we talked briefly and gave us an estimated time for completion. The fence looks great, is solid, materials were good, they cleaned up well, and they finished about 30 minutes early. First off my family's need of our new fence came at the worst time, 0140 Christmas Eve thanks to all the rain and then the combination of our 13yr old weakened fence with high winds took it down. As you can imagine during the holidays finding companies even in these times not off is hard. And with two dogs and neighbors all with dogs also a fence was solely needed. And luckily for us in comes Mesa fence Co. from the start of the friendly ladies voice over the phone later I had the pleasure of finding out was "Cindy". And this kind hearted lady always was a pleasure to chat with and trust me I called several times making changes and request my wife request and not once did Cindy ever show signs of aggravation and or contempt for all my calls/ requests. Then came Brett the sales agent who showed up at our address on time and again very friendly, he listened and took care of the gathering of information so his company and the crew would need to do the work. We were told they would be able to get on top of the job as soon as the new year began, and would be a two to three day job. In there attempt to avoid poor weather they stepped up and threw a few more workers at it and basically had the job done in one day, all was done but the building of the gate, the crew was very professional and at the same time down to earth and readily available for questions and such, not once did they skimp on attention to detail even when they could of. There product looks amazing, they were very respectful not only to my wife and I but to our property as well. They left our property as it was prior to them arriving. Even paid close enough attention of the mud they had tracked on our sidewalk and mow curbs and ensured they swept them clean. Even when there were things not spoke of during the estimate visit and were left off the actual estimate the company instead of demanding for those things as they very easily could have all involved were stand up individuals and realized their role and refused to make us as their customers pay for simple oversight. If there was anything I could point at and say it could of been better was the sharing of information of available options/upgrades. I feel if that was done I could of saved Cindy a lot of phone tag and chats, hence only the four star review. Overall if you are in need of a fence company that stands behind what they say, follow through and deliver on time or ahead with great workman who are as respectful as they are skilled at what they do then do yourself a favor call these folks. read more

If getting a quote is any indication of what to expect with the fence, then I'd go somewhere else. First off, they take a month for someone to come out and measure the existing fence line, which anyone can do. They say a quote will be emailed shortly after, but it never comes. Come on, it's not brain surgery, we're not quoting a pool. I should have a solid estimate on the spot, or at least within 24 hours. It's been one month, and several days, but no quote. I refuse to start calling to chase this down. Plus they don't take out the old footings, and they install all fences on the grass or dirt, so they will prematurely deteriorate. I guess that guarantees more business for fence builders. read more

On time, arrived promptly at 7:30 AM as promised! Work crew got right to it, and were very professional and helpful with a few suggestions on some electrical I had on the property. They didn't just rip things out, but actually thought out how to accommodate some low voltage lighting and irrigation that potentially could have been problematic. I requested an estimate through Angie's list or Home advisor. (I can't remember which) I was contacted by the owner? He gave me an estimate in an email, based on the measurements I gave him. I was told to get an accurate estimate someone would have to come to the property and measure everything out himself. I tried to set that up with his office, but was told I would have to wait for an entire week because they wouldn't make a special trip to look at my property. I was told they only work until 3 PM, and would come the following week because they had another appointment in the area with the school district or something. Since I work, I needed to schedule something for later in the evening. They made me feel like my business wasn't that important to them. Like there wasn't enough money it for them to bother. Fortunately I found another contractor who treated me like I was important and went out of his way to provide a beautiful redwood fence, just like I wanted it. read more

I have never seen a more harder working crew. First off, Cindy (office) and Brett were awesome and very patient with me. I had to have Brett come back 3 times because I kept wanting more estimates. I had an old wooden fence that me and my father-in-law built together 19 years ago. Plus a super shoddy shared fence that was built by Day Laborers about 15 years ago. You'll see how bad that fence was leaning in the pictures. Super professional crew and foreman Fernando. On build day, Brett showed up with Fernando, introduced him as the man in charge of the crew, and told me everything to expect for the next 48 hours. These guys work fast and tireless. I apologized for watching them work. I was in awe how fast they dug the holes for posts and set them in concrete by 12:00 PM. They had the old fence down within 20 minutes. Very respectful crew, cleaning up as they worked so that there was no clutter to pick up by the end of the day. I went vinyl because I'm tired of battling termites or wood shrinkage. Neighbor kids were able to peek into our yard through the knot holes. Now I have total privacy. I even decided to add a vinyl gate too. Super pleased. I'm giving my property a severe facelift. Hiring Mesa was one of the most positive aspects in the whole process. I don't understand the few negative comments here. Those who passed on "rude staff" truly missed out on some of the highest quality work I've ever seen. Thanks again guys. Over the last two years we've replace our entire fence-line through Mesa Fence Co for a total of nearly 400 liner feet of wood fence, shared with a lot of other homeowners. The coordinating was really a job! The office staff was friendly and helpful and communicated with us and all the other homeowners involved in our project. The crew is hardworking, efficient, and knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable especially considering they included tear-down and haul away of our old fence and sinking the new fence posts in concrete. Our HOA has strict guidelines for replacing fencing and Mesa worked with us to make sure it was done to those standards. The lead time (between the quote and the work dates) was a little longer than I would have liked, BUT they were completely up front with us from day one about how far out they were scheduling, which means a lot to me. If you're like us and are splitting the cost with someone else they can bill separately on request which was really great. Our new fence looks FANTASTIC. read more

Tried multiple time to get a hold of them and they didn't return any communications. After months of tying I got someone to agree to come over so I took the day off from work for their convenience. The guy never showed up. Did get a quote, how? they could not tell me as he didn't look at my property. I called to see what happened and the woman who answered decided it was best to argue with me and tell me I didn't answer the door for the contractor. Really? I had nothing else to do than to wait for the guy. She would not let up so I dropped it and asked if I could have someone else come and please review the quote they made up (from a google map picture I assume since he never came to my property). He came over and checked the quote, walked the property and told me it was good to go, to call him asap when I was ready to get the work done. Now that I'm ready I tried contacting them again and I can't get anyone to call me back. They haven't even done anything yet, I can't imagine how they would be if they did work, something went wrong and I try to reach them. If the customer service is poor from the get go I can bet its poor throughout. I'll pass. read more

I wasn't real happy about that, but I called a second time and left another message. I let them know in the message that my first call was not returned. Kind of split on this review. Mesa Fence installs a great product and they install the product well but the people who install it are inconsiderate and rude! Six months before getting our wooden fence and gate replaced with vinyl fencing we completely redid our backyard to be more drought resistant. When the crew from Mesa Fence came in and put up the fence and gate they tore up portions of the backyard by being careless. Mulch was shifted to the point that bare spots were made, weed barrier paper was torn and not fixed, metal stakes used to hold the paper were bent and pulled out and they rolled over both plants and sprinklers with their wheelbarrows to the point that plants were damaged beyond being able to be salvaged and sprinkler heads were broken completely off. When I notified the Mesa Fence of the problems, they apologized and came out and replaced the sprinkler head without charging anything extra but completely ignored everything else but proceeded to tell me how they work to fix anything that is damaged during installation. I guess that is not completely true. read more

I had a rod iron fence installed, less then a year later a small piece of rod which helps to close the gate just fell off apparently it was not soldered well enough. I called the company and the guy tried to say that someone must have hit the gate which I told him was not the case it just needed to be resoldered. . Mesa fence installed fencing and gates on 3 jobs for me since 2010. I was very satisfied with the work until one gate at my primary residence showed signs that slats had slipped such that the gate was not properly aligned. Adjusting a hinge allowed the gate to close, but I called the office to have the gate inspected and get the problem fixed. Repeated calls and several months later Brett, the owner, left his card on my front door, but I heard nothing about what needed to be done to fix the problem. Messages were left with the office, pictures emailed, and 6 months later, I was told by a receptionist that the warranty had passed since the job had been done more than 5 years previously and the gate had to be replaced. Since the price for a new gate was quite high, I got several competitive bids that were as much as 25% less expensive than the quote from Mesa for seemingly the same quality vinyl gate. One quote was extremely low because only a minor repair was recommended. I did the repair myself for less than $3 and with only an hour of effort-problem solved! This interaction was disappointing because I never spoke with Brett and felt Mesa did stand behind its work with appropriate customer service. read more
