Pedicure Experience at Candy Kiss Nail Salon - Not Recommended…read more I wanted to share my recent experience at Candy Kiss Nail Salon in our area. I went in for a Russian pedicure, hoping to try something new. It doesn't include polish, but it's marketed as a hygienic $60+tax. I assumed it being $20-$30 more than a most places in this area for a basic pedicure without polish that it would be 100% better. This sounded perfect since I was just looking for a relaxing, clean-up pedicure after wearing sandals for a few days. I'll admit my feet weren't in perfect shape when I arrived a bit dry and slightly dirty from summer sandals but nothing extreme. I voiced that I expected a thorough clean and some good dead skin removal. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. * They did remove dead skin, which I appreciated. * However, I had to ask the technician to redo parts of the pedicure because my feet and nails still didn't look clean -- especially under the nails. * I clearly asked them NOT to cut my nails short, and instead to just clean underneath. But she went ahead and cut them down so much that my nail beds were exposed now I'm left with some discomfort and sensitivity. * I went home and simply washed my feet with soap, and the difference was immediate. It proved that the issue wasn't "deep cracks" like they claimed it just wasn't cleaned properly. After reaching out to them via email to express my concerns and request any kind of refund, they responded saying it would take multiple pedicures to clean my feet properly because they were too dirty and the cracks were too deep if they went any further it would cause harm (which isn't true) and that they had done a "100% satisfactory" job. This experience was disappointing I went in for a self-care treat and left feeling frustrated, with sore toes and still dirty feet. I have never experienced this type of pedicure before at any other salon and so I will not be returning. I don't recommend Candy Kiss Nail Salon, especially if you're looking for a quality pedicure with attention to detail and proper hygiene. On that note does anyone have a great local pedicure spot they love and trust? I'm looking for new recommendations!

And don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to going into the office regularly again, I'm just not looking forward to having to bother with eyeliner again. So, I decided to splurge and get eyeliner permanently tattooed. After doing some research, JPMU seemed to have reasonable prices, good experience, good facilities, and good reviews, so I booked a session with Julia. I'd never had a tattoo before so I don't know how it would compare to a tattoo elsewhere. They numb your eyelids first, but as it slowly wears off it does hurt a little, and it's obviously not PLEASANT having a needle buzzing so close to your eyes. Still, the first appointment took under 2 hours, and then a touch-up between 1-2 months later was shorter, and the ink should last for 3-5 years although they recommend checking in after a year or so since individual experience varies. Your eyelids will be puffy and a bit sore for the next couple of days but it's no worse than how they feel sore after a good cry. I had the tattoos on Tuesday late afternoon and my eye lids were still a bit puffy for the next 3-4 days, but the boyfriend actually didn't notice anything unusual when he saw me Thursday night (maybe this says more about my boyfriend than anything else, but ... clearly not THAT noticeable). Mind you, he still hasn't noticed that tattoos either... Anyway the eyeliner looks great, understated but basically how I'd apply it for a normal day at work and I don't have to do anything but add a little mascara if I feel like it. Would recommend bringing some photos of your eyeliner the way you want it to look, or looking through the photos on their site to find one that looks like what you want.
