So love this place that I returned again and may again before heading out from Cancun the day after tomorrow. Been in Cancun 5 days now. Small down to earth street restaurant, in the town (NOT THE HOTEL ZONE STRIP though none beach hotels around) but the flavor , serving sizes and the prices can not be beat. Owner (lady from Cuba)!and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Timelines is not bad but it can be at Latin pace when conversations engages, which is perfectly fine with me. Especially since I am a guest in another country. The location is super convenient for me and my stay in AMBIANCE SUITES , another solid price performer with friendly helpful staff though different approaches than USA staff to things we just expect in the USA. Back to MESSA DE CHARRO; Very down to earth. Plastic patio tables and chairs for all seating which is all on the street though under overhead awning. The constant breezes add to the appeal for me, just keep napkins weighted down. No insects / flies experienced. Come to think of it haven't noticed any anywhere in our days in Cancun. The restaurant lives up to the reviews on several platforms / apps that I used to make a choice. I believe high ratings on other platforms were well Merritted. Smell of the food on the grill gets the taste buds ready to something good. Like that can see food preparation. Paper goods in this country are very thin. Don't expect polishes bathrooms, this is a street place. Good volume of business, especially on a Friday night and there is no shortage of places to eat. Busy avenue traffic passes by, flow depends on time. Convenience stores and businesses around, this is an urban strip. Even a store close by that says SEX SHOP. I say it adds atmosphere. So come expecting good solid quality food not a polished fine dinning experience but to me a great one. My type of place. Add to that I like loudish Latin music playing. Again my sort of go to place. Will seek it out if and when return to Cancun as well as the AMBIANCE SUITES HOTEL. BTW once again the food is spectacular in flavor: Seafood Tacos: Shrimp and Fish , and Gober: Shrimp, seared onions, butter, cheese (unfortunately not able to access photo of and already ate food. The other night the stoned bowl dish (name slips me know - but think I have it now Molechahete) was tasteful and hearty, bit different than one get at home less of a stew than a combination of ingredients cooked in stone crock. Beans, Mexican Cheese, Grilled shallots, sausage / chorizo that kind of has texture of a type of hot dog but much thicker and larger like size of 8"+ Kielbasa sort of. All good.
