She was direct and she allowed me to talk it through. She really listens and reflects to me resonating messages that help me open my eyes, mind, and eventually my heart to let the energy go that no longer serves me. I finally feel more hopeful and determined to believe in myself more strongly in a long time. I've talked to people who have said they are psychics before, and I promise you they come closer to actually providing some sort of guidance than Laura did. In New Jersey, we lost 3 great dirt tracks for this very same reason; town's population grew and…read moremoved into areas that became closer to the tracks. Our famous track, Flemington Fair Speedway, the country's fastest 5/8 mile D-shaped dirt track is now gone (1915 to 2002). Flemington grew and property became more expensive. The track's property, once out in the middle of farm fields, became more expensive, property taxes raised, so the track closed so Flemington could build a multi-use town center and a Loews on the property. Most of our dirt tracks were once in the middle of nowhere, then the towns kept creeping closer and closer to the tracks. Original home owners couldn't complain about the noise, but the 2nd owner of the houses can. And did. New York state, Connecticut, Maryland tracks all suffered. Same with Ascot Park in LA.

I heard about Zoo Lights and thought it would be a fun date night for my wife and I. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting. I was thinking, it would probably be the zoo as it appears in the daytime, decorated for Christmas. They advertised spiked hot chocolate. First of all, it was difficult to find parking, the only option was street parking several blocks away. That's normal for Henry Vilas Zoo and I expected that, but someone coming for the first time might not be prepared. We bought our tickets online and it was fairly easy to check in at the door. After we walked in, there was a kiosk selling the spiked hot chocolate. We wanted to try it, but the line was very very long, and it appeared to be the only place selling it. Other than that, it was just walking around the zoo looking at lights. My two biggest disappointments: 1. Very few of the lights were actually Christmas themed. There was a tree here and a snowflake there, but most of them were in animal shapes. Not a whole lot of the zoo being decorated either, not a lot of lights strung from trees, etc, mostly just the animal shapes being stuck in the ground 2. None of the zoo animals, that we could find, were out. I get that it was probably too cold for most of them, but no penguins? No polar bears? There were still plenty of animals on site, we could smell them. But didnt see not a one. Basically it was Olin Park's Fantasy In Lights, but with an animal theme, and walking instead of driving. It was cute, but not sufficiently Christmassy, or captivating for adults. Maybe we'll try next year with kids, see if they like it. A lot of the kids we overheard seemed to.

I love how family friendly it is, and it's the perfect date night event to start an evening of romance! For $7 a person or $24 for a family of 4 (free for kids under 3!), you get 30-45 minutes of entertainment! There is also Santa and a carousal ride included in the entrance fee. The extra cool part of it is the whole profit goes directly to the zoo to keep it free!! Walking around the zoo, you feel transported to a winter wonderland. The lights are fantastic, and the atmosphere makes you feel magical. The energy of families, friends, and couples makes you feel like love is in the air. The different lights are also shaped into the animals at the zoo!
