My mother lived at Country Meadows for 17 months, under their Independent Living Signature program…read more Unfortunately, we had to move my mother elsewhere when Country Meadows decided to eliminate the IL program, which would have meant we would have had to pay an additional $2,000/month just for someone to administer her medications (the only service she needed) . . . ridiculous!! Then they tried to tell me I only had 3 weeks to move her out, or pay the extra money. Too bad for them I pulled a copy of the lease which said they had to give me written notification AND give me 30-days notice. After I sent an email to Michael Leader, the Mechanicsburg mgmt called me and was not very happy that I went over their heads. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Country Meadows!! They took fantastic care of my mother, and we will miss them. But, I cannot say ANY good things about the management! The Executive Director, Amanda, and the Director of Resident Services, Olivia, are shady and incompetent, and don't care one bit about the residents there. They only care about money! It's so bad that most of the staff don't trust them either! More than once they tried to pull a fast one with me, but luckily I kept copies of every email, every document they sent me. So any time they tried to pull something, I'd call them out on it. I think it's safe to say they didn't like me very much because I didn't put up with their crap! So, if you're thinking about putting a parent in Country Meadows, you'll be very happy with the personal care they'll receive. But make sure you keep copies of ALL communications with management and DO NOT let them push you around!! Ultimately, you know what's best for your parent, so stick to your guns! They will try to convince you your parent needs a higher level of care, just so they can make more money. As much as we will miss the staff at Country Meadows, we were very happy to get out of that place!!!

The food is usually pretty good here as well . You get big portions. The one complaint I have is that the dining room floors are always dirty. Staff here are nice.

The staff at Essex House were super friendly and so helpful. The atmosphere is like a large family. I made so many friends. I would definitely recommend Essex House for independent living.

This review is about the facility at 707 Stumptown Rd Mechanicsburg Pa…read more My father insisted on recovering from gallbladder surgery at this facility. For a number of reasons. 1. My late mother spent a month there doing physical rehab. 2. A number of my father's friends had successfully short stays. (Less then 10days) 3. Dads 10 day stay turned into 3.5 weeks. The reasons are many. Infections, covid 19 protocols and IMHO the MD in charge of the medical staff is poor at best. The medical staff bungled transport for a CT scan for an abcess. The area around the abdominal tube had become infected. The pik line area had also become infected. Proper best practice of dating of cleaning and changing of the pik are and the abdominal port was ignored. Poor communication between Dr and family. Mefical records showing conversations that did not take place. Etc. It took almost 4 hours for Dr to authorize transport to the nearest ED. A ten minute ride at most. Un beeping believable. The ED stabilized my dad. Thank God My recommendation is to stay away from this facility. Your family could be in great danger.
