Found this gem while traveling with peers in PA. Located in a strip mall near Walmart. Outdoor decor shows the history of coal mining in the area. Nice patio to sit at also. Large interior with thoughtful design. Didn't seem like I was in a small town. Hostess sat us by the pizza oven. . .I was mesmerized watching them remove ash from the coals. Huge selection! We skipped apps and decided to share a salad and order pizzas. The small house salad was huge! Since wet we're sharing they gave us options to select different dressings. Dressings were both unique and delicious. In my opinion the pizzas are also large. Only ate 2 slices of the wild mushroom white pie on pinsa crust. I did also try a slice of the fig & rosemary ham pinsa crust. . .amazing! I would recommend this crust! It wasn't too thin, crispy, and flavorful. Worth the drive down the mountain! read more

One of the nicer restaurants in the St. Clair Area. I ordered their Turkey Panini Fresh Turkey, Fresh Mozzarella, Roma Tomatoes, Roasted Red Peppers, Fresh Greens, Balsamic Glaze. The bread was toasted crispy yet soft and the turkey was sliced thin and delicious. Steph H. & her help were terrific considering we were a group of about 20 people and mostly separate checks. Vito's is a great venue for groups. They do have a full bar for adult beverages. Looking forward to another visit when I get a chance while visiting my hometown! read more

I have been coming here for several years, and the food was always 5 stars. Today was one of the worst meals I ever had. I didn't receive my drink until after the salad was eaten. The linguini and clams was like a soup. More sauce than pasta. But it didn't matter, the pasta was soft and over cooked. Vito pay attention to what your restaurant is serving. read more

Have not been here for a while but very disappointed today except for our server. My meatball parm (which I had before) came out with the bottom soggy and the roll split apart due to it. Have to question if the meatballs are "homemade". Also, the roll was black along the top from melting cheese. My husbands lasagna, which he could not finish, had a "salty" taste. Also, when finding some peas in it we were told that is how they make their lasagna. That's different.The dressing (oil base) was bland. French onion soup not great but ok. I was traveling and seems like I found one of the nicest restaurants on my last day. I should've stuck with their regular menu instead of getting distracted by the specials. The concept was great, but the execution was not. The drink in the picture was some type of orange cream - not good. It kept separating. They exchanged it for a strawberry margarita that was nice. The potato was hard and warm. The lobster was so tough I had issues cutting and chewing. Eventually I just gave up on the meal. THE DESSERT WAS PHENOMENAL!!! I got the fettuccine with meatballs that tasted like it was fresh out the microwave... It was like they used store bought pasta and canned sauce and slapped two giant meat balls that tasted like SPAM! More importantly, our waitress was rude, she could barely understand us and was not paying attention and speaking to another CUSTOMER while I was TRYING to order the French onion soup, which they gave me the wedding soup instead. Very nice restaurant with a great location. Outdoors heaters to sit outside on a cool fall night. They quickly accommodated our party of 26. Service was great and very quick. The homemade bread came out warm accompanied with a oily tomato dipping sauce..oh my was it delicious! Everyone's meals arrived quick and cooked to perfection. Wood fired pizza is a must try!! We finally got to visit aVito's Pitz. The atmosphere was great. Very new and nice layout. Sat in a high top by the bar. Listen to an amazing musician playing classic rock songs. Great touch. Service was fantastic. Had a cold Coors and it was served with a cold glass! Ordered a house salad to start delicious home made dressing! The order the Pitz. Totally fresh and delicious. Prices were a little high but worth it. Large menu with many options. Parking was great out front easy access. I give this place an A and will most definitely return soon!!!! So I've never had a Bad food experience here before Tuesday night and we come here all the time and have spent a small fortune here in the past year. My Lady and I always sit in the Bar usually at a high table. Here goes... she saw Steak Diane offered & the description was Filet Mignon with a delicious sounding sauce. I was reluctant to order a steak at an Italian restaurant BUT as I had never tried one here I ordered it with the Steak Pink / Medium as the cut was supposed to be a FILET. Well she brought out our main dishes after our Soup and salads ( both excellent) The steak under the sauce was Two (pieces) not one thick Filet cut as I expected. Upon cutting into the steak it was not tender nor was it done correctly ( not pink more welk done) It absolutely was not filet mignon I was hungry the Sauce was Delicious so I finished it expressing my disappointment to my Lady. Now my Dish " Steak Diane" was $ 32.00 I felt totally Deceived by this dish. Will we stop going to Vito's because of this ? Hell no we Love Vito's ! Would I ever order any Steak dish here again.. "These authentic dishes are about as Italian as the fugazi watches they sell in NY." Vito's, since you need reminding of your own menu, a caprese salad has only 4 ingredients; Roma tomatoes, fresh buffalo mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. It's not hard, and to be frank one of the easiest dishes to make. Instead I received some kind of salad back wash with cherry tomatoes, olives, red onion, greens mixed, and mozzarella. Crazy expensive. $48 for a 16oz bone in ribeye cmon!. I got a large Brooklyn pie that I ordered while in the restaurant at the bar and it came out room temperature. Really? I live 2.3 miles away and had to put it in the oven. It wasn't great. Sauce is sweet and it's bland as far as seasoning goes. It seems to be a very popular place but I have no ideas why anyone would pay those prices. Probably lack of competition. If that place was in NY, it would be out of business in 6 months. I've been there probably 6 or so times with my friend and my son, the food is good not great and for the price, I'm not going back. Trying the pizza was giving this place one more shit and they failed miserably. read more

I have eaten here a few times. The food overall Is usually very good. I get anxious never knowing if we are going to get the bread or not though. It seems like sometimes you get bread sometimes you don't. Just depends on your server. Bad points are, the salt and pepper shakers are never wiped down so that's kind of gross. The servers are hit or miss. Last time I was there the server was very short with us and seemed irritated but maybe she was having a bad day. We got the margarita pizza which was very good. Also got the eggplant fries which were also very good. My suggestion is to clean more often. The floors, menus, salt and pepper shakers could all use some attention. read more

Food is Good, Service was fine. Excellent Hamburgers & Salad. Pizza is good also. However, customer beware Without prior notice the Restaurant is automatically adding a 18% tip to your bill. There was NO discussion on how to handle the tip. If you didn't look, the waitress did not state the tip is already included. I almost paid an extra tip. The 18% Tip is too high for this area. We are not in NYC. I will discuss this with the management next time I visit. I do not believe this automatic tip is added in 'good faith' No agreement with the customer I will request no auto tip and I will leave a 10 - 15% tip depending on service in cash. Great location to stop for dinner on a long drive, and we really enjoyed the live music on the patio. Our server was working her tail off but had a great attitude throughout. Although this restaurant is in a strip mall and shares it's location with Home Depot and Walmart it is surprisingly wonderful. The food is excellent and the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. The patio is perfect during the summer to eat there with friends or to just have an afternoon snack or dessert alone.
