My friends and I wanted a little pick-me-up on a Sunday afternoon, and I'm so glad we drove 20 minutes out to give this place a try! Not only was the matcha delightful, but they also gifted us a complimentary donut for my bachelorette weekend. It was perfectly sweet, which I loved because I'm not a fan of overly dense or super sweet treats. The service was incredibly kind. Even while dealing with so many customers in one day, they greeted everyone with a smile and such a welcoming attitude. The place is also really clean and well-kept. This spot will definitely be added to my go-to list whenever I'm in Santa Barbara!

Perfect Valentine's Day Breakfast Stop…read more Every time I'm driving into Los Angeles, I stop on State Street to charge my car -- and today (February 14th ) we decided to grab breakfast while we waited. Best decision ever. We stumbled upon this adorable donut shop, and they had the cutest Valentine's-themed donuts decorated for the day. My daughter immediately chose the chocolate one. I honestly didn't think she'd love it... but she ate the entire thing without hesitation. That says everything. Of course, I grabbed some donut holes for the road -- because that's just tradition at this point -- but the real star? The bagel sandwich. I ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel with egg, crispy bacon, tomato, red onion, and (because why not?) extra cheddar. It was DIVINE. Hands down the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly toasted, flavorful, just the right kick from the jalapeño cheddar -- I'm still thinking about it hours later. I may have to stop again on the way home because I genuinely can't get that taste out of my mind. If you're passing through State Street, do yourself a favor and try this place. Absolute gem.

The mango boba drink was also a winner: tasted like it was made of fresh fruit and the boba was soft and chewy. Service was also very friendly and the ambiance is classic. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. My second visit really sealed it for me. They have a good selection of doughnuts all unique flavors. The coffee is really good. The server for my coffee wrong but I ended up not correcting it because it was very good. I ordered the special salted caramel brown sugar but for the salted caramel instead. I wanted to go back to order another coffee. My first bite of the cream cheese everything doughnut I was disappointed. But as I ate it more there was more cream cheese which I enjoyed. Sour: we ordered other doughnuts as well. We were pretty full all day so we didn't get to try the others till the next day. I'm guessing we should have forced ourselves to eat it the same day. The flavors were good. We ordered brown butter, carrot cake and pistachio lemon. By day 3 they were completely bad and very hard. The everything doughnut is not consistent in the amount of cream cheese inside. The one I had next day was not as filled as the first one I had. We ordered some doughnut holes as well and the glazed was melting. If I'm ever back in town I'll go for the coffee for sure and order 1 doughnut so I can have it fresh.

He is a fan of McConnell's and wanted to grab some ice cream after our dinner. This location only has 3 parking spots plus 1 handicap spot. Thankfully we found parking on the street and there was a line of people waiting to get in. Once inside, Christie was the girl who helped us and she couldn't have been more pleasant and kind. She was very upbeat, energetic and did not rush us at all as we tried to make our decisions. She was more than happy to give us as many samples as we wanted. Since this location had frozen yogurt and the one by our home doesn't, my son decided to go for that. He got Horchata, Greek Yogurt, and Peanut Butter flavors in one cup. For his toppings he got rainbow sprinkles and chocolate chips. I had a few spoonfuls of it and it was DELICIOUS! Great texture, super smooth and decadent, while still being light. These desserts are works of art, AND taste delicious! This is a cute and small restaurant and take-away pastry shop. About 6 tables and a counter to sit/stand at. We were there on a Friday mid morning and they were packed. However they have several food runners and support staff to turn the tables fairly quickly. We waited in line for about 5 minutes to order at the counter as you enter so a line is not unusual, especially peak days and times. We purchased 5 different desserts, the peanut butter crunch was my favorite. The tiramisu was my least favorite...but still delicious. The coffee flavor of the tiramisu tasted fake so Alessia should work on her recipe if she wants a better tiramisu dessert...or just change the name so it reduces the expectation. I attached a photo so you can see the talent of the pastry chefs that Alessia has gathered and trained at this Santa Barbara patisserie. Definitely a must stop and try it.

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! If I lived close to Alessia I would probably get this a couple of times a week. Thick cut brioche toasted to perfection, the onion jam and sautéed mushrooms were so flavorful, nice salt from the bacon and creaminess from the gruyere and garlic aioli, all topped with the runny fried egg. 5/5 DUCK CONFIT HASH: Crispy potato, hollandaise, pickled fresno chile, cilantro, poached egg. The potatoes were crisp and the poached egg was delicious. The duck was a little on the gamier side, but I didn't mind it. 3.5/5 Overall, I thought Alessia Patisserie & Cafe was a great spot to stop by for breakfast, lunch, or just to try some pastries. I ordered a few different pastries for the road such as the pistachio croissant, ham & cheese croissant, and a "French Onion" soup danish. All of them were so buttery, flaky, and delicious! I can't wait to come back here.
