The achiote in the Mayan sauce is AMAZING and would taste good with almost anything. The sopa de tortilla (tortilla soup) was flavorful as well, but it was served like warm. The service is decent and the restaurant has plenty if room for seating. The staff is friendly and mostly comprised of Spanish-speakers. They are more than happy to translate or explain anything menu-related to you.

Food was good and the ambiance is very upbeat with loud music, good and friendly service. If you are from the US specifically from Texas's lower your expectations way down. Food is flavorful but not what we are used to here. And they give you white rice, not Spanish rice!

After months of looking for good Mexican food in London, I'm glad I found Mestizo. The food is authentic and delicious, additionally the prices are fair for the quality of food they offer. The staff is very friendly and there is someone making sure you're being looked after. Will be going back for sure.

As of food concern, I experienced authentic flavours in the main and the desert. The value for money works great too, roughly £20 per person. The 'must order' is a main course that has rice, Maxican curry and chocolate - the flavour of the slightly spicy curry and the slightly sweet chocolate mix into something new, something I've never tasted before. As of desert, go for the one on the menu marked as 'delicious', it is rich but not too sweet. You won't regret it!

We made reservations for 4 and got there a bit early so sat at the bar and ordered their classic margarita which was delightful. The place was freaking packed but everything seemed to be moving quit efficiently. Service was great. They checked on us multiple times before we were ready, but we also took a long ass time to decide what to get. I especially liked our waiter because he was SO BUSY but he still managed to make jokes with us, so that's cool. Jokes are always cool. When you initially look at the menu it doesn't seem as though you can change much, but when talking with the waiter it became clear that they would pretty much cater to whatever you want. For example the taco tray seemed like you could only order meat, but when I asked about veggie options he started listing off a ton of stuff. The taco tray is seriously the best. You get SO MANY OPTIONS and can build so many glorious tacos from all the beautiful ingredients! Win. I really wanted to try their mole, and can't say I was impressed, but you know what, that's ok and life will go on. Their quesadillas marquesa was creamy and full of warm cheese and potatoes (I think?). It was a really nice dish. I also had their jalapeño margarita, and tried the cadillac margarita which was super strong and wonderful. Both were different and really fresh and yummy. I would certainly come back here again and bring friends. It was strange eating at a Mexican restaurant when I'm so used to only going to places in Texas. I really enjoyed it though, and would definitely recommend their margaritaaaaaas! aye aye aye!

I loved this place! As a Mexican it is hard to find authentic good Mexican restaurants in London. This place tops my list after tonight's dinner. We all had vegetarian or vegan options. My favourite was the Chile Relleno with Oaxaca Quezo. The vegan flautas were also super yummy. The salas and guacamole were just right. Every dish was super yummy and rich in flavour. The atmosphere was also vibrant and friendly. I am definitely coming back here again.

    tres leches!

YES. yes! yes! I feel like one of those shampoo commercials, but this place made me love eating Mexican again. Jaladas, tacos, tres leches! TAMALES! I could just continue to write menu items with varying degree of excitement, but the fact is, it's all exciting. My BFF Bertha always told me, never trust a Mexican place that doesn't have Mexicans working at it, and alas, the sign on the wall welcomed my eyes with "We don't speak English but we promise to not make fun of your Spanish". I need to go back for the weekend brunch deal... honestly I want to live here... they even have jarritos! Make a booking online, it seemed to fill up quicker than we had anticipated.. Also, they have a gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free menu... so if you're with a picky eater, you can't go wrong.

The vibes inside from the furnishings to the menu were all post WW2 celebration themed and set the tone. We had a few rounds of drinks that were WW2 and train themed. The drinks involved various people from that timeframe. Several of the drinks were to be shared by 2 people and all were pretty pricey. I can drink pretty much anything so I ordered the drinks based on the unique containers they were served in. Our server said all the drinks on the menu were served with the apparatus they showed in the menu. When my companions tried ordering the shareable "Is it a pot of Mustard" drink they were told the bar didn't have that container. Hmmmm... Later I ordered the "Operation: Top Up" so I could get it served in the Jerry Can pictured in the menu and the drink just came in a boring glass. When I asked where the Jerry Can part of the drink was, she said unfortunately prior patrons had stolen them so they didn't have the Jerry Cans anymore. HELLO? That is the reason I ordered the drink! Didn't she just tell me the drinks came as pictured? Why didn't she inform me that it would be served without the prop? I certainly would have changed my order if she had done so. Other than several of the drinks not having props available, the drinks were pretty well done and hit the spot of the themed bar. With the bill being higher than expected, I would recommend coming here for only one drink and make sure you ask if your drink will have the prop as pictured in the menu.

We went in the opposite direction on Rupert Street and found this inviting courtyard bar. It's marketed as a gay bar but... The clientele was more mixed than gay. Hey, it wasn't a big deal to us. Especially as we sauntered to the bar bathed in pink and royal blue dayglow. Boys bellying up to the bar. Oh yeah, we home. The print was really small in their comprehensive cocktail menu, but that didn't stop us from ordering more libations. Stop judging us. Jamie went for the £12.50 Margarita, and I continued my Cosmopolitan streak with their £12 one (photo: https://yelp.to/RsyQWeRD5R). We went back into the courtyard to find a table.
