It wasn't going to be a big job, only about 56' of ornamental fencing and Penn Fencing scheduled our Estimator, Charlie to visit a few days after calling them in early March. We received the Estimate a few days later and the pricing was comparable to the other quotes we gathered. Penn Fencing came recommended to us by 3WS's Johnny Hartwell and we went with his advice and selected them for the work. It has only taken five (5) weeks for the materials to arrive and the install to be scheduled. Kevin and his two (2) man crew arrived promptly at 8:30am, to do the work and they were finished in about 90 minutes. No mess, no inconvenience, and they disposed of our old fencing for us. The fence looks great! I did have to go back and tighten a few screws, but it wasn't a big deal. We are very pleased with the job they did and would recommend them for your project.

We called them and were able to speak with Josh who came to our house to look at the railings that we were interested in replacing around our house. He measured everything and showed us some options. We received the estimate in a few days and were able to okay the plan, also placing the required down payment. We had to wait couple of months while they ordered the materials and designed our order. Once the installers started, we knew that we picked the right company! They cut away the old rusted wrought iron railings that had exceeded their purpose around our porches, and installed the new wonderful railings that we had ordered. It took 3 days. Every day we were happy and excited with the work being accomplished. Keith and Aaron (installers) were fantastic. Their knowledge, skills and professionalism impressed us. I've had ongoing issues with a double gate installed in April 2025, starting the very day it was…read moreput in (during heavy rain, which I raised concerns about at the time). The gate was initially installed incorrectly so it couldn't even be opened when secured, and since then I've had at least six service visits to address repeated problems with it not closing due to misalignment. Timeline of issues (to the best of my remembering and phone records): April 4-5, 2025: Had to come back immediately to fix incorrect installation May 18, 2025: Gate would not close (top hitting, bottom splaying) Late May to June same issue as above January 2026: Same issue again January fix required another service visit several weeks later Additional visit Feb- Mar this year for the same problem April 15, 2026: Gate once again will not close Each time it gets "fixed," the issue returns. At this point, it clearly seems like a deeper installation or structural problem--not normal maintenance. I was also told (for the first time, over a year later) that gates need adjustment every 6 months, which was never explained during install or prior visits, and I was never shown how to do this myself. After noting this, I was reminded that the warranty is only for 2 years, like this is my fault. What made this experience significantly worse was customer service on my last call. When I called to ask why this keeps happening, I was told I "don't know what I'm talking about" and was told not to "come in here barking." That language is inappropriate on its own, but it's especially problematic given the very common trope that women who raise concerns are dismissed as "b**chy" or aggressive. It's unprofessional, dismissive, and completely unacceptable in a customer service interaction. At this point, I would not recommend this company based on both the quality of the installation and how recurring issues--and customers--are handled.

As a Retired Disabled Veteran, I'd not taken it down if it wasn't true. So, do yourself a favor when you do have a fence installed by them don't life a finger moving a single thing. Don't move a rock, don't take down the old fence and definitely don't take their word for it. Other than this the fence looks great. Allegheny was the original constructor of our backyard fence, so we contacted them recently when we…read moreneeded a couple of things. First, after many years (I believe it's been there for about 35 years!), the chain link post is pulling away from the gate on one side which is becoming a dangerous situation where my dogs could get out, so that needs to be repaired. Second, I wanted to discuss a potential add-on fencing solution above my koi pond to block my dogs from running up there, where it's also become a dangerous situation over a high retaining wall as they "race" with a neighbor dog on the other side of the permanent fence. I actually had two other fencing companies and a landscaper come to assess that pond situation, and neither of the other fence companies would just be honest with me: putting any type of fencing up there is to likely to damage the retaining wall beneath and nobody is going to do it and incur that liability. Dan from Allegheny spent an incredible amount of time in the yard trying to figure out a way and took this project to his lead designer before coming to the no-go conclusion, which I really appreciated. Both of the other fence companies left with promises to get back to me with a quote, and the call back just never came. So, on this #ServiceStarShoutout day, I want to shout out the above-and-beyond attempt made to address my issue, the honesty and responsiveness (not always standard in these types of industries, unfortunately), and say that I am really looking forward to having Dan and the team repair the existing portion of our fence! This has been an extremely high-quality fence that has stood the test of time, and I know this work will be done the same way. Allegheny's prices are not the cheapest out there, but they are fair and their product and experience instill confidence, which is critically important when it comes to something that's going to protect the lives of your furry and human little ones.

I have three fur babies and I was using a bungee cord to keep the gate closed. Apparently the post office finds it too difficult to operate such a complex device, and so I thought i should get it fixed. When I called they sent out a sales guy to check out the situation and give me an estimate. Dan was a great guy, personable and knowledgeable. They are so busy he estimated that it would be Mid-March that they'd be able to do the work. Much to my surprise, a service guy, named Bill called yesterday to come out today and fix the problem. Both he and his helper were great. it took them about three hours to do the work (in the freezing cold today) and the fence looks great!
