I've been gone from this building for some time now, but I wanted to warn others of a problem that probably still exists (considering the poor management of problems that I had to deal with when I lived there).
The building was both roach and bedbug infested. And yes, I mean totally infested. On the day I moved in, roaches came crawling out from everywhere while I was trying to unpack. They were in the closets, the kitchen cabinets, trying to crawl up the legs of my table as I set it up. It was terrible. I informed office management, and they claimed that the problem wasn't there before. In fact, not only were they denying a problem existed, but they were aggressive and rude about it. As if I brought the problem myself.
I managed to get them to spray, only to have the same problem keep coming back. And then within a few months, the bedbug problem started. I spoke with neighbors, only to find they had the same problems, with the same poor response from management. Public health came in at one point, and while I'm not sure what they accomplished, I found out that a significant portion of units in the building had these problems.
Don't believe me? Check out the bedbug registry. Quite a few mentions about both pests.
Save yourself and avoid this place at all costs. It caused so much financial loss, because after trying to fight the problem for so long, I gave up, threw out my belongings, and left.
MetCap has shoddy management, and poor rental standards. Even now, living in a new building, I hear from the residents next door (MetCap owned building), that the place is roach infested. Sure they'll do renovations, and re brand the look of the building, but don't depend on them to take care of your unit, or properly manage issues such as pests, water issues, or heating problems. read more
