We have been clients since 1995. When we called them to say our dog needed to be euthanized, they said they'd call us back. They didn't. When I called them back a few hours later, I was told they could not squeeze us in that day. We called another vet who somehow did find a spot for a dog who isn't their patient but who is suffering. If you can't offer this service when it's needed, why deal with animals at all? read more

I have been a client there for nearly 30 years, but in recent years the practice has become less personal, having more of a "corporate" feeling. Plus they refer everything to a specialist, which drives up the price considerably. I would prefer if they could do the ultrasound or x ray and read it themselves and only refer if there is a question about something that needs more expertise. Additionally, I have had a couple of incidents where an animal needed fairly urgent attention but they couldn't get the animal in for several weeks, and I was given the option , "it that's too long a wait you can go to the emergency clinic". I took another option: I called another vet who got us in right away. It's a shame, because they used to be a terrific practice. read more

Very good vets but they're really busy. I'm considering switching - it's hard to get appointments unless they're far in advance or life or death. Seems to be a week or two, even if your pet has minor issues. My dog is having health issues and it's hard to get a vet to call you back. I've had to call them to remind them to call me back numerous times. Disappointing. I'd give hem 4 stars for competence but only 2 for timely customer service. read more

I'm very happy with the care received from SRH for my animals! The veterinarians and other staff are so kind and knowledgable. Scheduling and communication has never been a problem. Dr. Noble is booked out a couple weeks in advance, as she is in high demand, but I have had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Syngajewski who is so sweet and made my puppy's vaccinations a total breeze! She is a great addition to the practice. I recommend them to anyone and am so grateful to know I have access this level of care for my pets, whether it be for routine check ups or an emergency. read more

STAY AWAY!!! We used to take our dog here because it's close to home. We spent well over $1,000 to diagnose our dogs ongoing urination problem - that they could not diagnose after all the tests, day stays, and an absurd amount of money. They want more tests (and more money) to diagnose the problem further. I refused to spend anymore money so I went elsewhere. Within one visit to Ipswich Animal Hospital, our dog is getting some medical treatment but it's probably too late now (he had more blood than actual urine in his urine and in the mid/late stages of kidney failure). I would never bring my animals to SRH again. read more

I have been in the Area for three years. After I was not happy with another vet. I brought my best Pal. (Kotta) to SRH. My Huskey had major problems as he was abused, and a rescue Pup. Dr. Helen Noble cared for him during very rough times. The compassion that I received, and the care were Five Star, Five Diamond. SRH is the finest Vet Services anyone could ask for. I have been bringing my animals to SRH for over 35 years. They have treated 4 cats, 5 dogs and 12 horses over the years. Their care and personal concern for the welfare of the animals has kept me coming back for all of these years. One horse had blood work "inconsistent with life" and thanks to Dr. Bob and Dr. Noble that horse made a full recovery after days of constant visits and treatments from each of them. Dr Noble was the first person I called when I rescued three 6 month old foals. SRH has looked after all of them and not one has had an issue other than a leg strain. None of my dogs have ever been sick and their wellness visit ensures that. One of my cats was diagnosed at Bulgar Animal Hospital (it was a holiday so I had to go there). First he was diagnosed with a hair ball stuck in his throat. That cost me $4500. The second episode of "choking" also occurred on a holiday and that time Bulgar said he had a growth in his throat and needed surgery. The second visit cost was $3500. I took the cat to see Dr. Noble and she could see no growth on the scans. He had serous heart disease and he was still alive after 3 years thanks to Dr. Noble. The bill was the cost of an office visit. The doctors at SRH are rich in resources and skills and bring years of practical applications and a common sense approach to any animal situation. The have the top of the line technical equipment and cutting edge knowledge. They are highly respected by their peers and animal owners alike. I have a rescue 2 year old that had been having issues with her hind leg/hips since almost the day she turned one. Our previous vet didnt even notice that she had issues walking and certainly kept drawing out and trying useless things to try to no avail. In the meantime my poor dog was obviously in pain. When I mentioned this to my groomer she recommended SRH. I called them and they were able to fit me in that day knowing I was desperate to get her help. Later that afternoon Lexie was seen, xray'd, diagnosed and treatment began. I am switching all my pets to SRH. they are amazing! I personally could not love this vet any more than I do! About 3 years ago, I adopted my boxer mix. When it came to choosing our vet I had no idea where to begin. My grandmother recommended SRH as they are who she takes all of her animals to. (Cat, dogs, horses, even her donkey!) My grandmother knows her stuff about her animals and if she trusted them, then so would I. On our first visit, we were warmly greeted. The visit went well, and on our way out the secretary informed me that where as we would be coming back for a series of puppy shots over the next few months to make my appts with the vet tech as opposed to the vet. The service would be just as good, and I wouldn't have to pay $60 to walk thru the door for a simple booster shot. I personally loved this. Right off the bat it said to me: we aren't here to make a dollar, we're here to care for your pets. My pup has a soy intolerance and is considered a "sensitive" dog. They are always so careful not to give him too many shots at once or shots he won't need. Fast forward to this past June. I got my second puppy, a female pitbull. A few weeks after we got her, my boyfriend noticed she had blood in her urine. I called the vet right away. Turns out she had a severe bladder infection as well as bacteria in her ears. The vet said it stemmed from her living conditions prior to us taking her home. They gave us antibiotics for her infection and a solution as well as ointment for her ears. The bacteria went away right away, the infection decreased but didn't clear up fully. They gave us stronger antibiotics which did the trick. The whole process was painless for us, and very reasonably priced for all the meds and visits. Just recently my kali (the pit) had a parasite in her belly which she obtained from the dog park or walks I n public areas, we aren't sure. She had diarrhea for almost a week. I called the vet after trying some of my own home remedies that have worked for our male in the past. They tested her, excreted her anal glands (she couldn't do it on her own and was chewing at her behind) and they gave us antibiotics. The total for last minute vet visit, anal excretion, testing, and antibiotics was $78! Both of our dogs are happy and healthy and neither of them mind going to the vet. The secretary even noticed when I changed my hair color! Bottom line, great staff, great prices, and great services. You won't be disappointed! read more
