We have been using Banfield for 13 years with our yellow lab. Recently we added a puppy, and this store is new and is very difficult to do business with, My daughter, who is 19 went to the Tuscan Village store in salem and they did not explain the options and signed her up on the highest priced plan. We discovered we were put on a plan we didnt want the next day and asked to fix it and the store has refused. I will never do business with Banfield after this one year contract is up. I do not recommend them at all. Nobody ever picks up the phone. I have been going here for over 3 years and the past year or so it has really gone down. God forbid my cat ever had an emergency nobody pick up at banfield to help. Your just a customer here thats it. I asked them to fax over my animals records to the new vet im going to and the lady at banfield told me she didn't have enough paper to send a fax and that she needed the paper to last her the rest of the week. I have never heard of such a thing. I am so happy to switch vets!! read more

I never do this, but the fact that this is now the third time this place does this I am all set. They call you a couple of days prior to your appointment to tell you that they are not taking new patients. My dog has had an issue with his eye for over three months. No where on there website does it say anything about them not taking new patients I even got an email stating "they are now taking new patients again" so to get a call stating otherwise four days prior to his appointment is very unprofessional. I am highly upset and will never use this place! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I'm a Premium Wellness member of Banfield. They advertise that "you can take your pet to any location and the visit is covered by the care plan". I recently moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire, and my dog needed emergency care. She was dehydrated, lethargic, etc. I called as I was on my way to this location, and Kelly answered the phone. I explained the situation to her, and let her know I'd be there in 10-15 minutes and was willing to wait to have her seen. Kelly let me know that they were unable to see her because they were "full", and instead of directing me to a different Banfield who had an opening, they suggested going to an emergency clinic where I spent $400 on emergency care. I'm fine with paying for the services received, but the emergency vet walk-in fee was $120, where it would have been "free" (covered by my care plan) if I had gone to a Banfield. I called the Client Advocate team for Banfield the day after this happened to explain my frustration, and they relayed my message to the Salem, NH location. When Lisa (leadership team from the Salem location) called me, all she offered was an apology and a "follow up with the vet at Banfield" (at that point I had no interest in visiting a Banfield ever again). She also threw in that "my dog had never been seen by this location so I should have driven to the Massachusetts location" (which was over an hour away - keep in mind, they ADVERTISE that you can visit any location, no questions asked). Banfield is a SAD excuse for a vet clinic. I've never EVER heard of a vet turning away a sick animal, let alone a Premium Wellness Member. Their exact words were: "we hit our quota for the day and cannot accept any more pets for the day". What were to have happened if I showed up with a true emergency? Where are their morals? I guess that's what happens in the corporate vet world. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON VETS!!! I immediately cancelled my plan and would NEVER recommend them to ANYONE. I'd much rather spend a little more money on a good quality vet that would NEVER turn away a sick animal. read more

Have been using them for a few years and service has not been great and gets worse. I cut them slack due to covid and then the move, but that's not it; they are just awful. I do not recommend them at all. Can't get through on phone and can't get seen for 3-4 months. The pet plans would be great if you could use them. They seem to always have new untrained staff at the desk/phone and they can't answer questions or the answers are wrong. So spent $650 this year for nothing. Must be how they make money- collect fees but don't see the pets. Wish I could give a 0 stars. read more

They call themselves a hospital yet when you need emergency vet care (even when they're your vet) they say they can't fit you in because they're totally booked! Kelly at the front desk was very rude and acted like she couldn't care less that my dog was in pain. I won't be going back! There's at least 5 vet clinics within a few miles of this location, better off going somewhere else. read more

I was very skeptical when I first brought my dogs to Banfield, however having had a very bad experience with the Vet who had purchased the small practice that I had been with for over 25 years, I thought what the heck? For the past ten years I have been nothing but pleased. Their plan coverage is excellent, yearly my pet care cost is reduced by about 15% as compared with the small vet service I had been using. Dr. Chase is a dream..I know she sees hundreds of dogs, but she always takes the time to review charts ( or maybe remembers, but who could?) for my dog's little bug a boos. She knows Daisy is timid and crate defensive and that Harlow is a food thief. She gives the feeling of a small vet practice even though they are located in a Pet Smart. The front desk staff is always polite and courteous, no matter how busy. Would most definitely recommend Banfield, Salem. read more

Got me in quickly on a Saturday for an emergency check for my cat who had been having serious digestive-urinary issues. I appreciate Banfield as Belle and I frequently travel between MD and New England and their Network of clinics means that her records are always available wherever we are. After examining her and treating her for nausea and dehydration, she seems to be doing much better. More herself, instead of constantly hiding under the bed, as she tends to do when ill. read more

They have by far the fairest pet wellness plans I've ever seen. The monthly payments make it even more affordable. Chronic and preexisting conditions aren't a problem, covered. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!! I thought we would maybe save money going here. They are WAY more expensive than a regular vet. Horrible customer service, they were rude and condescending when they had no right to be. Ridiculously expensive! Avoid at all costs!!!!!! I don't really write reviews but I have been with banfield for 2 years and have been so impressed with every staff member from the front desk all the way to the veterinarians! Each individual cares about each individual pet and as a pet owned that considers her dog her baby that's so important! I recommend checking out banfield you won't be disappointed! I tell all my friends and family about it because on top of the service and knowledge they give you the amount of money I save is AMAZING!!! No vet fees all vaccinations and check ups included plus a teeth cleaning once a year! Very grateful! read more

I can not say enough about Bandfeild Pet Hospital in Salem NH...The staff is great ...every one smiling and truly appears happy @ their jobs. The doctors are knowledgeable and caring. . My dog had some extensive dental work everything was carefully explained and performed 3 days within my first inquiry, they new she was in pain and wanted her done ASAP. Not only did the doctor call updating me on her progress.... the staff called nearly every day to check on how she was doing! I have owned large breed dogs for over 20 years and honestly have never been so impressed with the care and treatment not only my dog recieved but us as well....Never felt rushed and had all my questions answered happily! The cutest thing I noticed after we brought her home I was taking her medicine out of their bag and saw .... *We love Corey* written on the top of the bag! That sumed it up! I unfortunately was hugely disappointed with Banfield. I made it clear when I called in for my dogs appointment that I wanted their checks ups, including vaccinations, in the same room as me. Twice they tried taking the dogs out of the room. This immediately made me feel uneasy as well as untrusting. Both the tech and the vet made my dog yelp in pain while trying to check to see if he had an ear infection. They advised he did not have one. Because my dog continued to have the same symptoms, I decided to take him to another vet and discovered that he did indeed have an ear infection. Also, if you have to take your dog back after a booster shot, they charge you again for a full check up. Overall a negative experience for myself as well as my dogs and you couldn't pay me to go back. read more
