So, I finally reached a "Sue" from the office saying I believe I have an appointment, but again could not give my informaton. She started in on me, saying things like you didn't have to be fresh on the messasge! i replied, say what? All I said is I called and left a message several times, giving my number to the person who ansswered and had it repeated. This Sue said they didn't because she couldn't understand the number, but they called me back before? And, I am sure I made an appointment, but I assume the girl didn't book me as I had to go but AGAIN said I would call back, which I did. The person who answsered the third time wasn't even part of the office staff! I had wanted to see Dr. Oh as I heard good things about her, and I need a doctor that will take the time to not only examine me, but listen to my concerns. I told Sue that she is full of it, and hung up. She CALLED me back, and I immediately said I'd call the police. She said go ahead, I said yeah call me back and I will. He is a local guy who set up his medical practice to serve the people of the Newtown area. He knows the community, and his patients well. He always amazes me with his vast wealth of medical knowledge. He not only sizes up my condition quickly, orders the right tests, and diagnoses with empirical and intuitive accuracy, but then can prescribe exactly the right medicine. He seems to have memorized the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference - the doctor's bible.). More than that, he is open to alternative medicine and treatments. When I suffered herniated disks and the orthopedic surgeons recommended surgery, he supported my quest for another way. When I found a Chinese doctor in New York capable of treating me with aggressive massage and acupuncture, which relieved my symptoms for several years now, he was pleased to know such remedies were effective, and promised to consider them with other patients. What more could I want in a doctor? He's my kind of healer.

It is convenient and most importantly, providing world class medicine to individuals and families due to the expertise so close at hand at the main facilities in Philadelphia. While my PCP (Personal Care Physician) is right there, my cardiologist and urologist are right downtown 30 minutes away. They have an excellent online presence where I can schedule appointments, see lab results and exchange messages with my doctor and staff. The time saved from telephone holding is tremendous, and worth the price of admission. This technology really works. I feel integrated into their network, as all my doctors use the same site, called My PennMed. Now that I am finally catching up with my health maintenance delayed by Covid the past two years, I am feeling more confident that I am taking care of myself the right way again with the help of the PennMed health system. That sense of security is priceless in this day and age.

My wife had major mental status changes yet the doctor asked 5 questions of her and just ignored the problem despite me clearly explaining that something was. very wrong with my wife of 50 years. I called the office when I didn't hear from them regarding her blood work and was told several days after the blood work was done to "be patient", I never heard from them and once I called again I was told I was supposed to look at the patient portal. After testing he advised of hearing loss in my right at lower frequencies most likely due to a virus I was unaware I had about six months ago. He went through other possible causes and logically ruled them out. He could run more tests, but in his experience they were unnecessary as he was 99% certain of his diagnosis given lack of other symptoms and my age. Bottom line choices were two; do nothing and see him in a year, or check out what a small hearing device might do to improve the situation. Made sense. I took an appointment to explore that option in a few weeks in the same office with Bucks Mercer Hearing Centers. No charge for the introduction to the variety of technology available today. Everyone in the office was pleasant from front desk, to audiologist, to Dr. Mallen, to last stop for next appointments. The facility looked a bit worn after 30+ years of use, but my professional office looks no better. 5 Well Heard Stars
