I really appreciate that Dr. He always talks about what happened, what the options are, and lets me decide what to do. She is always personable and makes me feel comfortable. I also appreciate that Elizabeth, Dr. He's Dental Assistant, is always upbeat. She makes me feel comfortable before I even see the doctor. New to Minnesota and had dental as part of my Humana Advantage plan. I recommend you call first to ensure they take your insurance. I called for appointment. Ample parking in the rear off France. They are on 2nd floor but there is an elevator their. I was referred to them by my daughter when trying to decide which place to go. They send you appointment reminders and were gracious when I had to cancel first appt. Nice reception staff. If a first timer they will need you to fill out information related to your insurance and health history so have a list of your meds, your glasses on, and phone number and name of your doctor. They wear masks.. you are not required. Nicole took all X-rays and then I was seen by hygienist who was thoughtful and thorough. If you have sensitive teeth she can put numbing jell on them. It was very effective. She then shared all details with doctor who comes in to share their evaluation of teeth with you. I did great no major issues. They scheduled my six month checkup follow up right there in exam room before I left. Hygienist recommended a fluoride paint over my sensitive area and exposed root areas for additional $40 which I did to be safe. A great experience. Little to no wait, nice waiting area with bathroom just outside door of dental office. read more

I had a crown put in back in September 2022 and of course they had to have their money right away even before having the permanent crown. After my explanation of benefits came from the insurance I seemed that I owed them a considerable amount less than what I was billed for. Here it is January 2023 (3 months!) later and I still haven't received any refund for the difference between what was paid and what was owed. After setting an appointment for months in advance, they sent me a confirmation two days before the appointment to confirm I was going to show up. The day of the appointment they sent me a reminder ninety minutes before the appointment. I got ready to leave and was in my vehicle about to leave for the appointment, and received another text message saying they canceled the appointment. I called them to ask why they canceled the appointment minutes before the scheduled appointment, and was told someone called out sick. If someone called out sick, why didn't they call me the the morning of the appointment to communicate that instead of waiting until minutes before the appointment? So after taking work off and losing out on hours at work , they dismissed me as a patient because I said something about the way they treat people and the lack of accountability towards other people's time. It ok for them to cancel the appointment minutes before hand, but if you do it to them, they will assess a cancelation fee. How is that fair? I would suggest finding a place that respects your time as much as you respect their time. A teeth cleaning shouldn't cost hundreds of dollars (with insurance) in lost wages because they decide to cancel minutes before the appointment. read more

I would get a 2nd opinion when it comes to receiving major dental work using this office. My husband came in for a consultation because his teeth were falling out and other issues. The dentist recommended he get 8 crowns and one extraction. The estimated out-of-pocket cost was astronomical. We considered going to Mexico where we could get the work done for half the price. But that wasn't an option. We went to the University of Minnesota Dental Clinic. We saw a dental student who was supervised by the department chair. They both agreed that the number of crowns previously recommended was not a viable plan. The staff at University of Minnesota recommended that all the top teeth be extracted. He needed denture (upper), partial denture, and two crowns. Wow! What a different treatment plan. We completed this treatment plan and now my husband has a nice smile. We save a considerable amount of money going with this option. Buyer beware! read more

Completely and utterly incompetent, their mistake could potentially bankrupt you. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for your dental work. The dental care itself seems to be fine. My aproblem was with their insurance and billing. I had been using them for a couple of years and I knew that I had several cavities to fill. Unfortunately I had to wait over two years to have the fillings done because the cost was simply outside my budget. I started a newer insurance company at the beginning of the year and I gave them the new insurance card, they took copies and out it in the computer. A month after my cleaning I received a full bill for the cleaning because they'd billed my old insurance and it obviously wasn't covered. I went in and gave them the new insurance, which they promptly rebilled and it was covered. A couple months later I decided to finally have my fillings done. I had them double and triple check the estimate to make sure they were using the correct insurance. It took two visits and was estimated at $396 altogether, which I paid during the visit. Two months later I received a bill for an additional $580 because I had chosen to do white fillings and my insurance only covered basic silver fillings. I was absolutely distraught, I'd spent years trying to save up to fix the problems and they completely failed to estimate the actual cost. Had I known it would come even close to what it cost I would NEVER have done it. In the end the only help they would offer me was to do payments, which I found insulting because this entire situation was their fault. Thankfully I had enough credit to charge this though I have no idea how long it's going to take to pay off. This situation will cause me financial stress for months. read more

The appointment on Nov 8 2021 was made 6 months ago. I received both text message and email from office on Nov 1st and i replied "YES" to confirmed that. Received reminder email and message about this appointment on Nov 8, at 8:08AM. Then received the phone call from office told me that my hygienist is out sick, I might need to schedule with other location. I asked what is the earliest available this month, was told earliest is March,2022. At noon, I noticed that there was a message and email sent around 10am and both remaindered about my appointment with my hygienist is Nov 8 at 1:50PM. I called back to confirm when I drove to office but I was told that this appointment should be removed. Metro Dentalcare-Bloomington: "Are you kidding me???" I went to another dentist office the following day, I was in and out, as a new patient within an hour and that doctors office has $3500.00 more dollars than before. eheduled an appointment because my lower front tooth was very loose and I needed it pulled and a partial made. The first appointment was great. Mold made, returned a week and a half later to get the tooth pulled and the partial fitted. I got lucky, my tooth fell out before my appointment so they didn't have to pull it. The doctor inserted the partial and said it was too tight. He started to make adjustments by filing down it and checking for proper fit. He continued this until he finally said "now it's too loose". He said he would take a new mold and make a new one for me at no charge. He did allow me to keep the loose one so I at least had a tooth. I was not able to wear this one because it cut into my gum in two places. I returned to the clinic when the new partial was ready. I was not pleased with it. The tooth sits at an angle that looks weird. This one did not fit properly and he started filing it to make it fit better. I went home to try it out. After about 3 weeks, I returned yesterday and requested a different dentist as I have lost confidence in the one that I have been seeing. I explained to her that because he ground off the tip of the bottom of the tooth, food gets stuck in there. I also told her that when I talk, eat or drink my tongue gets caught on the bottom edge on on side where the previous doctor had filed it down. It was still very thick with a flat edge on which my tongue would catch on. It hurt my tongue and lifted the tooth up out of place. I also complained about the overall thickness of the gum part of the partial and that the tooth was crooked. She proceeded to make adjustments by filing. When she was done it did seem to fit better. She informed me that these partials aren't meant to be worn when eating. The previous dentist's staff only told me not to eat hard food. So which is it? This dentist also informed me after she filed it down that it is now very thin and I have a greater risk of it breaking. Maybe she should have warned me about this before she filed it down so thin. At no point during her adjustments did she ask me how it felt. Only when she was done. Maybe she would not have had to file it so thin if she had gotten my opinion. So now I have partial with a crooked tooth, the tip of the bottom of the tooth is still not good and it now has a greater risk of breaking because she thinned it out so much. Really not happy about this experience and would not recommend Metro Dental. read more

The dental staff were all very friendly, welcoming and professional. I didnt feel anxious, or talked down to which is a major concern of mine when visiting a dentist office. I felt more educated and in control of my oral health after my visit. I would recommend having a personalized confirmation of accepting new patients- just to establish they qualify and reassurance from a person there.
