I was hopeful that they would be able to develop and process my 35mm film. I'm finding that locations do not have the equipment. I'm aware it's outdated when you can take pictures with a phone or digital camera. I have film negatives that I would love to transfer to digital. He was very nice and explained that his equipment was outdated and costly to maintain and he no longer does film. read more

It had been years since I visited a real photo lab, and Metro Photo Lab did a great job for us. The purpose of our visit was to get passport photos. The owner took the photos right away and developed them while we waited. While waiting, I noticed this business also creates large scale photos for special occasions, and the examples memorialized on the walls looked very good. Although the business is a little far from us, we will return the next time we need passport photos or large print photographs. read more

The gentleman there is very quiet doesn't say much but he's nice. I went in because I needed new passport photos. He let me retake it twice because I didn't like my first one. Only took 15 minutes to print and the picture quality is fantastic so I highly recommend. read more

My wife and I needed passport photos. She needed USA and I needed Canadian photos, which are a different size and has a strict criteria. Ike - at Metro took great care with my unique needs due to his experience handling Canadian photos. Highly recommend MPL - ask for Ike, he is great! read more

Called about 30 seconds ago to ask if prints i have can be made to be put online, to put on Facebook. I said i had old pictures, that i'd like to be able to put on Facebook, ..without me saying anymore, he stopped me and said, No, sorry, i don't do that. i know that claremont photo and video can do this. Was looking for a place in rancho / alta loma ..that can do this. this place is not quite the ' photo lab ' i assumed it was. read more

I sincerely recommend everyone to try out this photo store. The best photo priting I have experienced in pictures larger than 4x6. If you are printing 4x6, it doesn't really matter where you go, the price club can provide what you need at most of time. If you are printing anything larger than 8x10, this is the place you want to go! Price clubs might be able to do 4x6 in acceptable quality, but usually 8x10 or larger would make them embarrassed and extremely unsatisfied by consumer, not to mention the pricing raise from cheapo 4x6 to sky high. Metro is not only good on the quality, the price is even better than those price clubs! Let me put in this way, their price on 11x14 is better than Target's 8x10. The picture itself is larger, the quality is way better than Target's. If you are doing 4x6, you can go anywhere you want. If you want to do anything else, come here! read more

I found out about this place after some friends of mine recommended it to me. [Note that I am a pro photographer with pro photographer friends]. I tried this place out and their prints are very nice in terms of quality. The service is always great with the owner: Ike. He is very friendly and knowledgable in his field. You surely get that one on one service that you dont get with the large chains. I see no reason to go elsewhere when his prices are reasonable. I have sent work to professional labs and his prices beat them because I dont have to pay for shipping and I get my prints right a way [or atleast in a couple of hours] ..not a week or several days later. Highly recommended for both personal and commercial prints. read more

I love this place! I am glad to have come here for my prints. At first I called in to inquire about price and how long it would take, before I can get my photos, if I bought in mass quantity. The price was actually the cheapest and I have to admit, I got everything within two hours. Ike is one of the most informant, most helpful representative I have ever met. Definitely made the trip to this establishment more worth wild. The photos came out nicely even though I had a few photos that weren't as great in resolution. I'm glad he gave me tips and pointers for next time if I were to get more prints. Anyhow, I definitely recommend this place for people needing prints. Customer service is tip top. I needed passport size photos for a certificate. I called Metro Photo Lab in advance and I was told no appointment was necessary, to just come in anytime M-F during business hours. I went on a Monday morning around 11:00 am. The service was great, the price was fair and I was out of there in less than 20 minutes. read more

Love supporting local businesses. Don't go to cvs or Walgreens for passport photos. Those places don't understand different sizes and the meaning of thing unless it's on their plug and play system. Metro has Friendly people who know what they are doing. read more

We wanted to make an 11x14 out of an old, tiny, dark photo of my uncle to use at his funeral services. The photo had a crack in it as well. Took it to Ike and he did a beautiful job. Reasonable prices, charged me $10 for the 11x14 print on foam board. He has done great work for us before. Very happy. read more

Overall, I am very pleased with their selection and knowledge. If you are getting in to photography, an amateur photographer or even a professional this place is a great way to try out equipment before buying it. I did a lot of research on the Sigma 16mm lens before renting it. The lens retails for around $450 so it's not an inexpensive buy if you're not sure. The reason why I love this place is you can try different cameras, lenses, etc before you decide to buy it. The next rental I want to make is a lens for my full frame Nikon d750. Thinking I knew what I was doing, I googled how to clean the camera and bought an image sensor kit. That was a major mistake. Though I didn't actually know that until this past week, when I went to Yosemite and did some night/sunrise shots. All of my sunrise shots had major streaks through it. I just knew it had to be the image sensor. I didn't want to touch it again, so searched for a repair person who could deal with camera image sensors. Joe immediately popped up and I read so many reviews on how he had fixed cameras and cleaned up image sensors. It didn't take me long to go to him. He took a look at my camera and all I can say is, thank you! I will never touch the inside of my camera again and I'm glad I didn't damage it beyond repair. The fact that Joe went above and beyond the service that I requested, was so helpful and appreciated. AND it was done super quickly, I thought I would have to leave my camera for days. His knowledge and experience is definitely worth the value. I will forever go here for all my camera gear questions and repairs.

The only camera shop close by was Powell Camera so I came in and was immediately greeted with a smile and the shop "Employee of the Month." I grabbed a new battery, and bought my first roll(It was Portra 400). From there, it was all routine: shoot a roll, turn it in before 1pm on Tuesday to get it returned by the end of the week, ask what worked and what didn't get exposed correctly(which happened a lot my first year). Mark and Frankie fielded all of my questions and conversations with wisdom and grace, about the Mamiyas that cycled through the shop, about how to correctly use an off-camera flash on a film camera(though I've failed many a time), about how quickly film was coming back and how many new shooters began to pursue celluloid dreams. I'm not so close by anymore but I'll always remember what this place has given me and countless others. What Mark has left behind in Powell Camera is something that stands beyond its store walls. There's millions of memories here developed, scanned, printed, and returned all over. While I may have been just one of thousands of passing faces, Mark to me was a steward of the craft, someone so unforgettable and tied to the medium here that won't soon be forgotten. Now is no better time to support brick-and-mortar shops like this one. Shoot film, change the world, let light keep your memories tangible.
