I recently moved to the IE from NYC and needed a new shop to develop my film. I chose Pro Photo Factory. The owner is a wonderful Korean gentleman. As a Korean immigrant myself, I was pleasantly surprised and glad to be supporting this small business! And the owner seemed just as happy to interact with me as well :-) I had 2 rolls processed and bought a 5 pack of Portra 400. Additionally, I was able to trade in 2 unused lomography rolls for $20 credit! Super generous deal, I don't think he would profit much from them so it really just helped me out. I went here to get some film developed/ scanned at the recommendation of my roommate (and also, this place is the only film/ film camera store in my area of the Inland Empire). I'll start with the good: Mr Kim was so welcoming and kind, the turnaround time was very short (less than 24 hours), and the scans were good quality. I also brought in a film camera from the 90s to hopefully have fixed (someone dropped it off of a rock in Joshua Tree and the automatic film winder/ advancer stopped working), and Mr. Kim gladly took a look at it with great care and attention to detail (unfortunately, it required a specific replacement part and couldn't be fixed in-store that day). Howeverrr, despite the great service upfront, I felt the prices were a bit steep---$20 to scan and develop one roll of black and white film. Given that Pro Photo Factory is a local small business with 2 employees, the cost wouldn't have bothered me too much if not for what happened next. A few hours after I dropped off my film, Mr. Kim emailed me to notify me of a "half frame scanning fee" of $16.90, which was $7 more than the regular scanning fee and not posted anywhere in the store. He said that my film would not be processed and scanned until I paid the $7 difference over the phone "at my earliest convenience." I was a bit irked, but I called him the next day to make the payment. Not thirty minutes after I hung up the phone did I receive an email with the link to my photos (which proves he already had everything developed and scanned and was just waiting for more of my money)! What's more, the half frames were not even scanned separately; they were still scanned as if there were 36 regular exposure 36x24mm frames, instead of the 72 18x24mm frames that I shot. So, he clearly didn't do any extra scanning work that would have warranted an additional "half frame scanning fee." I was scammed :( read more

It's a joy to bring my film to be developed here. The experience is unmatched by any other local in person developer I have been to. The efficiency of the drop off process where I can drop off of film and have scans back is awesome. I prefer the service to the have my film scans sent directly to my email via Dropbox. I sometimes even get the scans back the same day. The development prices are very reasonable. The film selection is high quality. If you pay cash the prices are better on some film stocks then buying online. I highly recommended for people who are interested in getting into film photography or looking to try different kinds of film. This place is single handily facilitating my film photography hobby. Such fast and quality service for an extremely fair price - about $11-12 for one roll of 36 exposures! This is less expensive than the place I used to go to. Mr. Kim was very kind and thorough in explaining the scanning and photo delivery process. He even took time to explain if I wanted to get one of my scans printed in a larger size in the future. It only took a couple days and I received my photos via email, with a Dropbox link. I received high quality images in .jpg. Some had light leaks but I know it's because of the film camera I'm using.
