I feel like I need to offset the review below... I'm sad that Dendroica had a negative experience…read more It's probably weird to say you love a doctor's office, but I LOVE this place. I "interviewed" many nephrologists in the city before deciding on this practice. I knew I would require lifelong care, so choosing a physician who was not just competent but also "got me" and my lifestyle was extremely important. Dr. Habwe is amazing-- one of the most capable, compassionate doctors I have ever encountered. She has 100s of patients, but somehow whenever you speak to her, you feel as though you are her only one. I not only feel completely confident in her care, but actually look forward to seeing her. She is also incredibly tenacious about helping you get necessary care from other specialists, when necessary. Full time doctor and advocate, and part time social worker and confidante. The best in the city, as far as I am concerned. Additionally, her front desk staffers-- Sandy and Eleanore-- are lovely. I got pre- and post- kidney transplant hugs from both of them. (and of course, they are helpful in terms of scheduling and lab follow-up work, too). Nephrology Center also has an in-house nurse to draw labs, which makes the whole process incredibly convenient. I've also never had a problem with insurance or billing. Dealing with a short term or chronic health ailment is never awesome, and of course we'd all prefer never to see doctors at all. But if you have bean troubles, I'd never hesitate to refer you to this practice. And if you see them over the long term, I bet they become like your extended family.

This place is absolutely awful. I had a routine urine test which they said would take one day. Dr…read more Khan said he would call with the results as soon as he got them. Weeks went by and nothing. I called many times leaving a message; no response. Finally, 6 weeks later I get a call from the doctor saying that I submitted insufficient quantity for the test. I felt so enraged. I chose this place to avoid the chaotic GW MFA, but that was a mistake. Also, Dr. Khan spoke to me like he had no clue about anything. Almost like I was the doctor and he the patient.

Dr. Christian H. Lefevre is a great doctor, a wonderful doctor, an outstanding doctor. Dr. Lefevre…read morereally cares. He listens closely and is highly anaytical in doing his diagnosis. He becomes very familiar with his patients' case histories and takes that into account in doing his diagnoses and prescribing medicines. Dr. Lefevre is one doctor that you can call and who will call you back, even if it is late in the evening. If you absolutely have to do so, you can also contact Dr. Lefevre on weekends and holidays. Dr. Lefevere even calls his patients just to check up on them. This is almost unheard of, at least in my experience. Dr. Lefevre gets to know his paitents and bonds with them. My wife and I don't know what we would have done if we had not had Dr. Lefevre as our physician all of these many years. Dr. Lefevre and his staff are highly personable and efficient. They are results oriented. Dr. Lefevre is like a modern versionof the Norman Rockwell family doctor, as somebody else said in a previous posting on this platform. Dr. Lefevre has been a Godsend for us. As I say, Dr. Lefevre is a great doctor, a wonderful doctor, an outstanding doctor! He is out of this world good. If I could have given Dr. Lefevre 100 stars on this 1-5 star scale, I would have most certainly done so. Dr. Lefevre is fantastic. You cannot go wrong with Dr. Lefevre!!!!!!!!!

He's always available to answer questions via the phone, and I've always been able to get an appointment on the same day that I call. Additionally, he's an excellent clinician. I highly recommend him.

I think they have commercial about how you won't feel like a number but more like a person here,…read morebut I honestly haven't felt that, but I guess, such is the healthcare industry. I've changed doctors with Medstar 4-5 times in the last 2 years mainly because people leave the practice or more to different offices. I remember when I was younger, an annual physical was much more than just asking you questions and then adjusting your medications, but the doctors don't even touch you other than listening to your breathing. I also don't like that they send you all these emails and text messages to pre-register but then when you get to the office you still have to scan and enter the same data in again. What's the point in pre-registering and wasting time if I'm going to have to do it all over again at the office. So, I just don't anymore.

When I had more questions, she didn't hesitate to answer them. It was the kind of medical care you only see in movies and tv shows. This is all true EXCEPT IT DID NOT HAPPEN AT THIS PRACTICE! I recount this story because it's such a stark contrast to what I experienced here. The medical and admin staff here could not care less about the people who seek their help. They like us the same way vampires like people - we're just funding their yachts and second vacation homes. They don't care if you live or die or if your quality of life is piss poor, so long as you pay that copay and all the subsequent "procedural" fees you'd have to pay. To be clear, there are still good medical providers out there - you just won't find them at MedStar Navy Yard
