This is a huge plus since a lot of privately owned offices do not have after hour emergency services. As for the atmosphere, it's clean and the ladies up front are nice and polite. There is a pharmacy in the building, a coffee shop across the street and a restaurant next door. First off, I had Dr. Collier. In our initial consultation, he listened to my problem and gave a very even-handed assessment of what it might be. With Crohn's running in my family, I feared the worst, but he assessed the symptoms and was optimistic (without sounding fake). The day before a colonoscopy is probably the worst thing ever... but once I got into the Endoscopy center, I felt relatively at ease. The nurses all were fantastic. Warm, caring, and had great attitudes. Also, the nurse who did my IV left no mark at all, and despite the fact she said it'd be a "hard prick" I felt almost nothing. One thing to note: They say that the sedation will keep you conscious, but basically ignorant of what's going on in your body. That isn't what happened to me at least - I fell asleep for the whole thing. In fact, I barely remember anything aside from waking up fully dressed (WTF?) then all of a sudden, I wake up in my own bed at home. While I guess they understated the effects of the sedation, I couldn't be happier of how it went down. I didn't even feel like anything was up my butt after all was said & done! Indeed, a far cry from the one 8 years prior that made me feel like crying in a corner, eventually having Robin Williams come to my house and say, "It's not your fault. It's not your fault." Only thing from keeping it from getting 5 stars? Some of the staff need to be a bit more on the ball with the information they send out to their patients. While I appreciated the mailed reminder for my appointment, the time and place they indicated was wrong. (they put down 10:45 and Suite T-110, when it was actually 10:30 and Suite T-115). However, since I got there early, no logistical catastrophe occurred and they took me back to get prepped completely on time. So if you're looking for a great set of doctors & nurses to get to the bottom of your bottom, this is definitely tops.

This one I am glad to report is one of the good ones. Basically everybody that works there is great from the front desk Michelle who is helpful and relatable. The medical assistant Katie made me feel comfortable let me ask my questions and instruct me on what I needed to know. Then I met Dr. G who went above and beyond to let me know how serious my various conditions were that I had and gave me a practical but tactical plan to intelligently work to stop and potentially reverse each one. I had a number of side problems that I thought were unrelated to my core issue and he patiently thoroughly explained how they were all related and how it would progress to something much worse potentially something that could really ruin my life. I ask a lot of questions the doctors which I'm sure annoys them, but due to having some weird stuff I felt let down by so many. I have educated myself deeply on my own health issues but of course I am biased and have blind spots. The fact that I went to an urgent care to take care of a foot but that I was able to be happily convinced to intervene now and work with him to take the necessary steps towards greater health is something I've never seen before. And I have yet to see Dr. Axl which I should be doing soon I already have great faith that he will follow in the same great care and quality. Talking to Dr. G he explained how not urgent care centers are the same and that there's different ways they can operate and that really showed me what a gem I have stumbled upon. They have a primary care doctor there which is amazing so now I can switch my doctor there and make appointments for that or walk-ins. Now I don't know how expensive this is for everyone everyone has their own concerns with how that all breaks down. But Dr. G was very thorough with me in helping me even to understand to make it work which I've never seen before at any of the doctors I've been to. He did a thorough work up on me getting the bulk of test done today which I now have a series of follow ups that I can do and I know that I'm on the right track now. For anyone reading this I know that we all have different issues different concerns it's really hard to find a good doctor if you don't have one already and I suggest if you live in this area and you need an urgent care try this one out make sure, make sure you're clear on everything, as we know you can get surprises but the office is transparent and upfront as this, that delivers such quality as well as offering a multitude of services not seen by most urgent care centers, I think Xcel Urgent Care is a great add to Falls Church and is worth a visit if you're considering it,

Later, Dr. Akl told me that he has his own private clinic and that he could do the tests there. I took an appointment at his travel clinic, but they quoted me $900-$1000, so I decided to return to the urgent care office since it was more affordable and we already had an agreed price. When the doctor saw me, he said: "You will pay $900 either here or there," implying that the decision was his, not mine. Honestly, the staff were very kind and cooperative, but this doctor's attitude was unprofessional, especially since there was already a price agreement at this clinic. When a patient is paying out of pocket, the final decision should always be the patient's, based on their budget and comfort -- not pressured into a more expensive option. Very disappointing experience. I will not be returning.

After reading reviews of several ERs within reasonable driving distance, Inova Emergency Room in Oakville was the best. The gorgeous facility is sparkling clean & tastefully decorated with trendy MCM furniture in the lobby. More importantly, I immediately felt at ease upon speaking with the front desk staff & my family member was seen within just a few short minutes. EVERY person we interacted with (from security & front desk employees to the custodial staff, several nurses, & the doctor) was warm, friendly, patient, thorough & kind. Bloodwork, an EKG, urinalysis, head CT scan & an IV were performed quickly & smoothly. Nurse Kayla & Dr. Antoon were exceptionally cheerful & professional, with a spectacular sense of humor that helped keep my relative calm & in good spirits. Guards were fine and checked our bag, made sure we knew about parking validation. Intake was pretty standard & courteous. Waited 5 min in lobby to get to the triage, and then an exam room. Facilities are new, clean, and modern. They were able to pull up our past health records on their database without issue. Quick vitals, followed by details checked by nurse & the ER doctor. Doctor confirmed we did the right thing. Minimal interaction, but thorough & it was a simple case of typical flu onset. Sent note in record to primary care Doctor. Out with Rx for Tamiflu & Zofran anti-nausea meds for pick up locally within 30 minutes. Efficient, courteous, accurate. Easy exit from parking. Definitely wheelchair accessible.

I started to see Dr. Hurtado to be my medical detective. I had heard he is like a scientific sleuth who works hard to find answers to health issues, Over the last two to three months, he has been fantastic. He has turned over every stone, when it is based in reason and deduction, and has not given up when i have had set backs. He truly cares that his patients feel better, and live quality lives, and he works hard to help you get there. He is very informed about the rising field of gut health, and its relationship to other parts of our body. He uses that knowledge and any other knowledge he has to help you get stronger and better. His bedside manners are fabulous. He is just downright kind, funny and compassionate. If you are looking for an allergist, or a doctor who treats asthma, or a doctor who works to improve your immune system, Dr. Hurtado is your guy. He is not just gonna give you a pulmonary function test every single time you walk into his office. He is gonna work it to see why your lungs are doing poorly. (Just one example how he differs from the standard allergy/asthma office.) I am so thankful I went to see him. I feel like I am on the road to overall improvement of my immune system. He maintains walk-in hours, which few doctors do, and accepts most insurance with no hassle. My only beef is his varied office hours, which sometimes makes it difficult to schedule an appointment.

Everything else matched my existing file exactly: first name, date of birth, phone number, and email. I received a confirmation email for the new appointment time, so I had no reason to think anything was wrong. Today I was charged a $50 "no-show" fee. When I called, Jorge was cold and unhelpful. His explanation was that because the last name didn't match, the system never linked my reschedule to my original appointment, so as far as their office was concerned, I just didn't show up. He checked with Dr. Frederick, who agreed to reduce it to $25, but wouldn't waive it. Here's the problem: I used their own tool, the way they told me to, and got a confirmation email back. If a single mismatched field can silently fail to cancel an existing appointment with no warning to the patient, that's a gap in their process, not proof I skipped my visit. Instead of looking into that, they went straight to charging me and acted like $25 off was a favor. It felt like nickel-and-diming rather than an actual attempt to make it right.
