Avoid metroplex homes at all cost! Our property management changed to metroplex homes halfway through our lease. Karen really lives up to her name. Every interaction we had with her she was rude and unprofessional for absolutely no reason. Every time I sent her an email my wife and I waited for her very snippy response. We were good tenants, always paid our rent on time and took care of the property we were renting. When we moved out they made us pay for a professional cleaning, flea & tick prevention and carpet cleaning with "contractors of their choosing". These cleaning contractors were laughably unprofessional and expensive. Metroplex homes also deducted almost $1,000 dollars from our security deposit to rekey, clean the property (after we already paid $700 for 3 different cleaning services of THEIR choosing) and mow the property at the end of our lease. RENTERS BEWARE - read the lease contract VERY CLOSELY. They won't let you "break your lease" and will force you to pay out the remainder of your lease until THEY find a replacement tenant. We informed Karen we would not be renewing our lease over 3 months before the lease expiration date. Metroplex homes did not take any action or try to find a replacement tenant until we had already moved out. When they finally did post the property online, the pictures they posted online were very bad you would have thought a 5 year old took the pictures. As a tenant, we had a terrible experience with this company, avoid them like the plague! read more

Nightmare beginning to end. Should have done my research. Property manager's spouse is the "maintenance team" so the prices are outrageous if you use "their people". Found out too late. Reminded her to please warn tenants about what to do with upcoming winter storm. She emailed them instructions of what to do, they did not follow. Pipes burst and water was not turned off when they left property, hardwood floor flooded, then she quit on me (which after seeking legal advice was not even allowed in state of TX-it is a contract, one-sided). Then I was stuck with tenants that she had put in there with low credit score etc. mind you I'm 6 hrs away which is why I didn't want to manage. Never felt so taken advantage of. Btw, when they rekey, they do not give the actual owner a key bc that's the same lock to multiple rentals! Essentially I was locked out of my own home. And she held on to the tenants' deposit until last minute so I couldn't even give their money back to move out until she released it (day 30/30). See emails below. Avoid at all costs! Do not ever use this management company. Hired them to manage my property and just fired them after 8 months due to poor performance. They collect their fees reliably but that is it. Had a repair that needed to be made and they didn't return calls from the repair company for over 2 weeks, leaving my tenants without A/C upstairs. No communication with me as the owner or with the tenants who were caught in the middle. Financial statements were inaccurate and difficult to read. They also made financial mistakes 5/8 months and charged exorbitant costs for tiny repairs since they are receiving kickbacks from their contractors. Unless you want to flush hundreds of dollars in the toilet, I recommend you find someone else. If there was a rating worse than an F I would give it to them. Update: This company will not answer phone calls or emails that I leave them, which is their standard MO. I recently called in regards to obtaining tax information, I never received from 2016. The only way I can ever get them to answer the phone is by calling from an unknown number. When I do this they pick right up. Otherwise they ignore phone calls and emails for days or weeks. Intentionally withholding tax information complicates an issue which could easily be resolved. This is right in line with the rest of the way that they have conducted their business in my experience. They also threatened to continue to withhold my information until I take down a previous truthful review that I left them. Very unprofessional and questionable behavior makes these people impossible to work with. Only hire these guys if you Like being ignored and ripped off! read more

Do not rent from these people they will scam you out of your security deposit with bogus charges, They don't let you go to the final walk thru inspection and come back with minor repairs with a hefty repair fee. ex. 50 dollars to change 3 light bulbs. 25 to tighten a cabinet door. They schedule showing of the home without any regards of the current tenants. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy. read more

We used this company and when we returned our beautiful carpets and tile were full of urine and there were random paint marks that didn't match our walls all over throughout the house. My little kids spotted this as soon as they came in. We were out of state and didn't know. We returned 2 years later and discovered this. We had even left spare paint in the garage in case we needed to paint which was now gone. I asked Karen what happened and she said we couldn't do anything about this because this was done by the first tenants! Seriously??? Then why did she not address this with them? Isn't this what she was paid for? Didn't she walk the house between tenants? When our fence fell after damage it was me who phoned her from out of state to tell her the fence had fallen days before. She obviously did not check my property after a serious storm. An old neighbor phoned to tell me since nothing was done about it. Save yourself the money and get someone you know personally. She was wonderful about returning calls but that is where it ended. When we spoke about damages to the property she said going after tenants wasn't worth the cost. In that case save your money for the repairs you'll need later. read more
