Quick review of my first visit to this cute popcorn shop while my bf and I were at the 2025 Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest this afternoon - anyone who knows me knows that my adhd food hyperfixation has been popcorn for the past few years! So yeah, I was gonna drag my bf in this tiny shop no matter what! It was in the main drag of the festival so we just walked in and waited just a couple of minutes before it was our turn. Briefly, the popcorn is great, flavors are creative (see picture), kernals are a little stale, but generous for the price! We each tried two flavors, him savory and me sweet, and then shared a small bag ($4.75) while watching college football once we got to my house! I got a bag with half apple pie and half a sweet flavor covered in brownie batter. So good! We both agreed the brownie was the better of the two. I am looking forward to buying from this brand again. I hope to see them in stores! It is a VERY indulgent snack though so be mindful of calories and sugar! read more

We were in Cuyahoga Falls for the Eclipse and there was a special event in town for the viewing. The street was blocked off for all the pedestrians and the shops were open and filled with people. We stopped at Metropolis Popcorn to pick up some kettle corn for our 6 hour drive home the next day. Nothing like popcorn for a long road trip! The kettle corn was already sealed and in a bag on the counter. Normally when I get kettle corn, there's a huge cauldron set up outside. I cannot tell whether this store had one to make their kettle corn. Though it didn't have the usual salt and sugar taste that comes with what I consider kettle corn, this bag was okay though I'm not sure what the flavoring is. It had a yellowish coloring so maybe just butter? Salt and sugar doesn't usually have a color to them. Still good for this popcorn lover. I asked for an email receipt and thought it would be the end of it but once I got home I got two advertising emails and text. I don't live in Ohio and will probably not be in this location again so there was no need to use my email for advertising. I hope when I ask to be unsubscribed that it works. read more

We walked into Metropolis and immediately felt unwelcome. We were greeted by a woman that seemed irritated or maybe bored with us for being there and didn't take her AirPod out of her ear during the time we were there. The number of things posted that they can't do or we shouldn't do added to the feeling of being a burden to them. Things like limiting samples, limits on what could be purchased without ample notice, and the general atmosphere that we walked into a closed store we quickly felt unwelcome enough to leave. read more

Popcorn is my weakness. They have over 50 different kinds of popcorn and they will even let you try several of the flavors. I tried the puppy chow, which is very similar to muddy buddies and delicious. Jalapeño cheddar was great and reminded me of the jalapeño cheddar Cheetos. Caramel is delicious as usual, it just melts in your mouth. They even have a skinny caramel where they eliminate the butter to cut down on the calories. They have plenty more flavors, but you have to go there in person to try them all. I ended up getting the Chicago style popcorn because I love to cut the sweet caramel corn with a little salty cheese flavored popcorn. It reminded me of being in Chicago! read more

Wow they do have many flavors!!! For a local shop I would recommend as supporting small businesses here at Cuyahoga Falls! We tried the peanut butter popcorn which was not a huge hit but their classic theater butter popcorn was great. Staff was super friendly and informed us that classics do have good discounts on them when you purchase larger counts. read more

This is a fun stop to make if you're in the area, but I don't think I'd go out of my way for the popcorn here. We stopped in after dinner to pick up some popcorn to munch on with a movie at home, and we were excited about all of the flavors. The limit each person to trying 2 flavors, so we tried a couple, but ended up buying the kettle corn, garlic parmesan, and the butter pecan. The garlic parmesan topping was a little aggressively caked on, so you really couldn't eat a lot of it, but it was good, just a little salty and soggy. The kettle corn was tasty and crisp, just a little more buttery than most kettle corns, so couldn't eat much of that one either. The butter pecan was excellent though. We wished that the girl at the counter was a little less strict about the 2 sample policy, she heard us discussing that we had wished we could've tried one of the special flavors of the month after we had already exhausted our 2 samples each, and she didn't offer up any additional samples, even though it was clear we were definitely making a purchase... Just seemed a little strange and stingy, but oh well. Stop by if you want popcorn. read more

We try to support local merchants whenever possible, but this shop makes it very difficult. Visited Wednesday, and they were only taking online orders. Gave them a second chance today, but they would only sell us two of the three tins we needed. No wonder people don't shop locally. Small town = small time. Popcorn galore! I've seen many popcorn establishments across states and I must say, Metropolis has the best selection and atmosphere out of all the ones I've been to. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the warm colors of the place that made me reminisce of the circus. At the back of the store there is a wall with buckets of popcorn- all flavors that you are welcome to try. I don't remember how many buckets but I would estimate between 15-20 flavors. I'm confident in saying that there's a flavor for everyone. My most recent trip, I got a small package of the peanut butter and jelly popcorn and I really hope they keep it as a permanent flavor. The owner told me that he occasionally has his employees come up with flavors and they put in on the wall to see how well they sell. PBnJ was one of those flavors :) For those that aren't a big fan of popcorn, there are some other fun treats you can buy here such as chocolate, brownies and other baked goods. I would say that the prices are average and I have never felt regret purchasing anything from here. If you're in the area, do your tastebuds a flavor and check this gem out! read more

They absorbed my fav chocolate shop in the Falls and offer yummy treats alongside popcorn. I very much dislike popcorn. It is an unnecessary food. Metropolis Popcorn definitely changed my mind. A little place tucked away on the bank of the Cuyahoga River run by an exuberant woman, Metropolis Popcorn is a hidden gem. When you walk in, there is a wall of popcorn behind the counter, everything clearly labeled. We were offered free samples, and the attendant suggested combination flavors and all around made us feel very welcome. Of the forty-some available flavors (including green apple, garlic, chocolate-covered pretzel, and more), we chose loaded baked-potato and s'mores. Both were excellent, and for $3 a cup(generously portioned), we were extremely happy. I'm not going to start picking up Orville Redenbacher, but I will return to Metropolis Popcorn for this great and unique stuff. read more

Very friendly staff, who will let you sample flavors for free. You can ship as a gift and order online if you like. I very recently relocated to Ohio from New Jersey, flavored popcorn places are abundant on the Jersey Shore but I have not experienced another place with such an abundance of creative delicious flavors like here. Simply the best popcorn ever. I've probably had about 20 flavors there over the past few years and I can easily they have all been exceptional. My only real complaint is that they now added a lot of very sweet very tasty candy treats so now I not only get popcorn have to make that very hard decision to NOT get something additional. Don't go in this store hungry because the mouth watering delicious smells of various flavors of popcorn will have you drooling all over the floor. My husband & I got their white chocolate & peanut butter popcorn- perfect for any sweet tooth lover. However, we also got their cotton candy popcorn (a mixture of strawberry & blue rasp) but no one liked the strawberry & we picked out all the blue, better luck next time. The strawberry cheesecake tastes just like it, and the Cajun Voodoo is smoky and tart and sweet. I have been here many times, but have only just discovered Yelp. The store is slightly difficult to get to, parking wise, but it is clearly defined by a large wall mural facing the road running parallel to it. Walking inside, the left wall behind the counter is almost overwhelmingly crowded with tubs of popcorn in every flavor. I ordered the $3 cup of popcorn (I could have gotten a bag for the same price; for a gift or easy storage) and thoroughly enjoyed it! This was simply the worst gormet popcorn I have ever had. I love popcorn and especially gormet popcorn and this was the worst I have ever had. First they don't use mushroom kernels which is just unheard of in the gormet popcorn industry. Also the popcorn was flavorless, boring and WAY too expensive for how mediocre it was. I WILL not be ordering from here anytime in the future. I have had amazing amazing gormet popcorn over the years and I can promise to anyone who thinks this is gormet popcorn, you are truly missing out on how good popcorn can be. I saw the place had a 5 star rating, and I am happy for those that love it!... but it was very average to me, less than average really. I personally, didn't find it tasty, or well-priced. In general I do not understand the concept of infinite flavors of popcorn I guess! Some things are awesome! Like Reese's - Reese's cannot be improved by adding very dry popcorn. That being said... even classic popcorn flavors were of lack-luster quality, taste and freshness IMHO. The employee was not noteworthy in any way (in the way of helpfulness or friendliness). That being said... if you want to try insane flavors of popcorn you have never tried then by all means??? The flavors were inventive, leaving the opportunity to try food in a flavor/texture combination you haven't tried before! And kids would probably love it! My friend and I were nearby and we both love popcorn so we decided to go buy some. The clerk wasn't very friendly. We told the clerk that we have never been here before and that we were excited to try some of their popcorn. She put a few kernels into my hand which I then popped into my mouth. My friend said, "I'd like to try some of that too." The clerk said that I was supposed to have given my friend some of mine. Why didn't she put a few in each of our hands not put it in mine and then expect I can read her mind and that I was supposed to share. Then when we asked to try a few flavors she rudely stated that she would have to limit our samples. Wow! I don't think it was wrong of me to ask to try a couple of flavors before purchasing overpriced popcorn. I was going to buy a gallon but after being treated rudely. I bought one small bag and left.
