I also think toilets the flushing need to be fix even if you said hold and push down once it did it goes down but 2nd time trying it would not go flush. The bathrooms are nice. I don't know the value. about. It is quiet. I did not happen to ask for any help there sine i ask my relatives that was doing the things there for where their things are. The cemetery is nice and big but what a snake road soooo long you drive thru like a long snake road. It was my first time here so place is pretty big. There was no service at all no mention of telling other cars to line up in the back telling one car but not others.

Wow, I'm actually writing a review on a funeral home. Losing a loved one is extremely difficult,…read moreand the entire process can be overwhelming. We sought the services of Woodlawn last year when my Aunt passed away, and Liana made the process go smoothly as possible. I couldn't believe how beautiful she looked. Now here we are again, needing their services again, as my grandmother passed away on April 8th. With the issue of COVID-19, things were a little different. We had the pleasure of working with Liana again, and she arranged for a private viewing of my grandmother, where we could view her in groups of 10. We were not able to have a traditional funeral, therefore, a private gravesite funeral was arranged to host my grandmother's Home Going celebration, and it was just as beautiful, just like she was. The grounds of where your loved one will be laid to rest, are simply gorgeous. I hope this review will give someone reassurance that your family will be well taken care of. So with that being said, losing a loved one is never easy, but Woodlawn will make your experience as seamless as possible.

It was my aunt's funeral that took place in their chapel. She passed away last week & I was told that they were called and told my family to call back on MONDAY @ 9 am because they were closed on Sunday. ???? Umm, people die daily. I've never heard of having people wait to be able to speak about funeral arrangements on the next business day. It was like the situation wasn't important to them. I had nothing to do with the funeral arrangements, but if I had been, I would've had her taken elsewhere. After the funeral, the mortician was really nonchalant when speaking to the family & it felt like she was just a number to them. I didn't feel any genuine care coming from him (the older, light-skinned man). He was really emotionless & I was also told that her funeral HAD to be that day because they had a funeral to do on the day my family wanted the service to take place. All in all, I enjoyed the service with the singer and the pastors speaking about her. The main part I have an issue with is the way they handled things & his demeanor. Better them than me because I wouldn't have given them a dime of my money.

The Albert G. Horton Memorial Cemetery is a State Veterans Cemetery on Milners Road in a rural area…read moreof Suffolk. Its 2004 opening provided a military cemetery for the huge military community that chose to retire in Coastal Virginia. The cemetery is one of a number of regional cemeteries run by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, Eligible Veterans receive one free burial site & USDVA provided outer burial receptions/crypts & headstones. Should a veterans's wife predecease him, the headstone is inscribed with her information facing forward. When the veteran dies his information is inserted on the opposite side and the headstone rotated so his information faces the front, My Uncle had originally planned to be buried at Arlington. After his wife died, the funeral director mentioned Albert Horton. When we left my Uncle asked what I thought. We both had individually felt that it would be a place where we could more easily visit her. We toured the next day. Even the drive down Milners Road is picturesque. The cemetery itself was clean, new and beautifully laid out. The staff was friendly. The decision was made. At that time word of the beautiful Veterans Cemetery had not yet widely spread. She received a convenient plot near the drive through and near a bench. There appeared to be space for burials for many years. That hasn't been the case. The Cemetery filled over the years and has been expanded. When my Uncle died I had my first experience with the Pavilion, which is used to provide a military graveyard service with Honor Guard. It was a moving experience for the man I considered my second father. The Honor Guard was a special final recognition for the retired Naval Commander, buried in his uniform, who had served in WWII, Korean & Vietnam. Albert Horton Veterans Cemetery continues to serve as a valued source for a final resting place for those who have served our country. Wreaths across America places gorgeous holiday wreaths on each grave. The Horton Wreath Society places wreaths on military holidays. Contributions can be made and are encouraged. Whether the burial be a traditional plot with stone, a columbarium or in ground urn, there is no cost for those Veterans who qualify. Thank you to the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. Virginia Veterans Cemeteries are such a valued contribution provided to our Veterans.
