It's small, but it's clean and modern. The weird thing is that it shares space with the dental clinic, but it's really not an issue. I bought a package through Groupon and while the tech said something about more sessions than I purchased, I wasn't pressured to actually purchase any more. Got there only to be told I had no appointment scheduled. They asked the owner to be sure and he told them it was only a consultation. I've been coming to Metropolitan Med Spa for a year-and-a-half now. Originally, I had a Groupon but upped it for a full body treatment instead. Their tech, Maria, is especially nice and professional. However, every single appointment I've attended, they've run over 20-30 mins behind. I've had to reschedule because of it and it's thrown off my results. Personally, I won't be buying another package from them once my sessions are done this time and I'm finding a new clinic. I'd like an environment that respects its clientele and their schedules. If someone comes late, they should be forced to reschedule- not the rest of us. read more

I signed up for the 6 treatments full body hair removal and have been more than pleased with the facility. Kayla one of the technicians there is absolutely amazing! She is so sweet and quick. They send reminders before your appointment and are so accommodating. I would recommend them over and over again. I can't say enough great things about Kayla. Please read the "not recommended" reviews at the bottom of the page for a more realistic description of the service you might expect. I found this spa through Living Social. The laser hair removal deal claimed two locations: one in Lorton and one in Sterling. Surprise! They don't actually have a Sterling location. Literally- it doesn't exist. (I was told over the phone it was fully booked and I had to come to Lorton. In the office, the story changed.) When I arrived, another surprise! They are located in a dentist's office. Not sure how you can call it a "spa" lol! I got here early to fill out my paperwork ahead of time, and have been sitting for over 25 minutes past my appointment time waiting to be seen. Someone popped in after me and was taken to the room right away. I took an evening appointment because I live over an hour away. So far, this has been very inconvenient and concerning to me. I will check back in regarding service after my appointment. I hope she finds a way to make all this worth it! Update: the laser is very nice compared to other lasers I've tried- it cools the area and doesn't hurt much at all. The technician seemed skilled but she was exhausted. The room was cramped and awkward, I wasn't given time to dress/undress alone and no drape was provided. Cheap temporary a/c unit took up a lot of room space and was loud. Worst service & very unprofessional "kids" running this facility. Bought a Living Social coupon on Aug. 30th. Still have yet to go in for a laser hair removal procedure. Receptionist screaming at me for 10 min. for a schedule mistake that she made. Told me that I had an appt. on a day where I was out of town. Then the real appt. So I bought the treatment via LivingSocial and decided to add an additional treatment that I paid out of pocket. The area is in kind of a weird place that shares an office with a dentist. The room itself where the treatment is done is small and didn't feel too welcoming and they gave me broken goggles to wear. Also, I don't agree with their policy about 48 hour cancellation or you get charged 50 dollars or have one treatment removed. When your 6 total treatment costs roughly 100 bucks and they're going to charge you 50% of that because life happens that's a little steep and unfair. They're not very understanding of some times life happens, especially when you have kids who are constantly sick and require a lot of care or work. Once my treatment runs out I'll be going to a different place. There's better ones out there that's more flexible. read more

I was a bit apprehensive to buy a groupon deal due to the mixed reviews. It was easy to get an appointment for the following week. Getting someone to assist me however took a while. I left my name and number and I'm still waiting to be called back. After calling three times I was able to make my first appointment. I give zero star for this place. One of the technicians burned part of my eyebrow (permanent damage), and I now have more hair on my face than when I started-- not to mention laser burns. When I told these issues to the owner, she asked with an attitude: "what do you want me to do about it?" I said, for starters you can say sorry. She was very defensive during the entire conversation and did not show any sign of kindness. Nor did she offer to fix the area on my face. I have been a customer since 2015. From the moment I walked in, Lauryn greeted me, was extremely friendly and made me feel at ease about the process. This center is terrible!!! I bought a 3-sessions voucher from Groupon for my upper back. I also paid them separately for my lower back. So they were supposed to treat my full back per session. But, this is what I got after 2 sessions!!! Too many spots never got treated at all (almost half of my back)!!! The operator is in kinda hurry to get rid of you ASAP and switch to another client. I talked to them after the first session and explained the problem. They offered me an extra session, but the operator again did the second session exactly the way she used to.
