I would not recommend this business. After I canceled my membership, I was still charged. At first, I was promised a refund through Venmo, but after that, I never heard back. I followed up multiple times, and the owner never responded to my emails. When I called to ask about the refund, I spoke with a woman named Dana. Instead of helping resolve the issue, she was extremely rude, called me a liar, and spoke down to me over the phone. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer. The way I was treated was completely unacceptable. I do want to say that the younger girls who work at the front desk have always been kind, helpful, and professional. They were never the problem, and I don't want my experience with management to reflect poorly on them. The tanning beds are also not well maintained. In my experience, more than half the time I visited, at least one bulb in the bed I used was burned out, and there were also times when entire beds were out of service. Between being charged after canceling my membership, not receiving the refund I was promised, the lack of response from management, and the way I was treated when I tried to resolve the issue, I cannot recommend spending your money here. read more

I have never been here, but was looking for tanning salons in the area. I call 20 times, at varying times, with no answer. They have no website, and their Facebook/Instagram have zero information or pricing. How am I supposed to even find out, I'm not going there and wasting my time. Like... get a website, update your Facebook/Instagram, and answer your damn phone... or just close down because this is not how you run an establishment! I've been going to Metro Tans for years. I've always been happy and recommended it to others. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience- the solution was applied streaky and uneven, which has never been the case before. I was concerned about how the uneven tan would look and did not want to take a risk for an event, so I showered slightly before the recommended window. I called to notify the manager and ended up speaking to the person who did my spray tan. I just wanted to explain the situation and my concerns. She wasn't rude, but was somewhat dismissive and said because I didn't wait and see (and therefore risk having an uneven, streaky look) that nothing could be done. She suggested I should have waited and then if so was unhappy exfoliated the tan off myself later. For a place I've never had tanning issues with to suggest I just hope for a good outcome when clearly the tan wasn't applied correctly (perhaps due to a faulty sprayer, which she said had been broken earlier that week), but claimed was working this day, though my experience seems to suggest otherwise. This whole experience seemed off to me for a place I have been frequenting for years with no issues. It's a shame because I was always satisfied there and now feel that due to the poor quality and lack of effort to reimburse me for the tan, I will seek another place. I should also mention she asked for a tip three times while I was checking out and said 20% is standard. While as always do tip, I feel this should be an option, and not repeatedly asked for by staff. I'm not sure if the shop is under new management (Lisa referenced a manager when I first arrived, but when I called back she said she is the manager). I set a spray tan appointment on a Thursday night for Sunday afternoon. I arrived at 11:45ish for my 12pm appointment on Sunday. I signed in, gave them my address/license/info and was told "we'll be with you in a moment.". At promptly 12:15, I was called to the counter and told that they didn't "have a shade as dark as me." She said "the shades we have won't even show up on you." She offered me a UV bed and I said frankly "No. I don't want UV, I wanted a spray tan." What gets me is...why did she wait until 12:15pm to say something? Well, I went to another salon that was 10 minutes away. I called another place and said very quickly "Does your salon service or cater to African americans?" The lady on the phone said "Yes. I'm not sure how to answer that though." I promptly told her my experience from THIS salon and the lady on the phone was angry with me. She said "How dare they? I don't think theyre even allowed to say that!" Needless to say, I left Metrotans, went to another salon, got a cheaper price, friendlier service... and got help...even though I'm African American. This was my first spray tan experience--I am very fair skinned so typical tanning is out of the question for me--I would burn to a crisp. I opted for the lightest shade which was perfect--the girl that did my spray tan was very nice, thorough, professional, and did a great job. The stuff smelled good and looked sooo awesome, very natural, even on my fair skin. The facilities are super clean and the staff is very efficient. They also provided me with shower gel, lotion, etc, to maintain the tan for a few extra dollars. I will DEFINITELY be going back! read more

Tried Metrotans for the first time tonight and was very happy! Salon was very clean and associates were very friendly. Spoke with the owner himself as well. He was very knowledgeable and helping. I enjoyed my tan here. I tried the lay down bed tonight for 8 minutes and I will be back as I bought the weekly unlimited tanning membership. I'm allergic to the sun and tanning beds so my only options for tanning are self tanners or spray tanning. Without a doubt this is hands down the best place I've ever gone to for a spray tan. I occasionally tanned at Metrotans when i was super pale and looked like I didn't live in Florida. I must say it was a pretty nice natural looking tan. I didn't look orange! Pretty pricey for a tanning place or maybe they're just alot less expensive in florida since most people can layout? Last spray tan I got made me somewhat orange, there was a section the technician missed on my inner thigh and there were parts that absorbed more color than others making my fingers and elbows darker... I was still happy with the job but it definitely wasn't the best spray tan I've ever had done on me. I think she made some rookie mistakes but it was still better than being pasty pale in the middle of summer at a special event. read more

I used another spay tan salon last year and followed all the directions and was very satisfied but it was in Wayne and Bryn Mawr was so much closer, I thought it would not be much different. I went in on Tuesday, wore loose clothing, did not shower for 24 hours, did not use Dove soap, and asked for a medium tan. 1) I found a drip on my back 2) Wednesday I looked a little tan buy by Thursday, it was essentially all but gone, it washed off. The people walking in seemed to be going to to tanning beds and maybe that is where they get their great ratings from but for a spray tan- not so good. I will go back to 360 in Wayne to get another spray tan even though it is further away. read more

The women that work here are anything but pleasant to be around. They don't smile, or respond to other pleasantries. While waiting in the waiting area I noticed the women working just sat at the desk watching Netflix (with the sound on) when some of the rooms could really use some cleaning or have the garbage emptied. Welp, I wanted a spray tan because I'm anti more cancer (I prefer to stick with the ones I'm familiar with) for my trip to Florida. I got sprayed on Wednesday, for my Friday trip. The girl was very kind, and suggested that I could totally pull of the dark shade. I had shaved, exfoliated, scrubbed, and did the work prior that they suggested. The spray room was a room with a curtain, a small fan, and my pale nakedness. She sprayed me over twice, and the fan did almost no justice drying me... I felt like a soda truck ran me over, I smelled, and my dog refused to sleep near me. Fast fwd the next day, I look like a cross between a yam, a carrot, and a joke. I scrubbed endlessly, and ran to sephora to find some anti tan stuff. I called metro to ask how to remove it. And they gave me the usual refusal of responsibility corporate reply "I've been here 5 years, no one has ever turned orange." I'm sure I'm a medical mystery.... anyway, my flight is tomorrow and not even pale foundation fixes the striped, bright orange look. PS- I still smell. read more
