The Long Version: When I first learned about The Tortilla Maker, they only sold plain tortillas for you to take home and make your own meals and also salsa. I wasn't particularly interested. However, I discovered that they recently started selling ready-to-eat tacos and also premade tamales. So I went to check it out. I got 3 tacos: chicken, beef and pork. They were $3.25 each. If you buy 3 tacos you get a free mini salad. I also got 2 tamales: chicken and pork. They were $6.25 each. The tacos were small but tasty. I put some of the shredded cabbage with tomatoes in the tacos, as well as the green salsa that the tacos came with. I enjoyed the tacos and would get them again. The tamales were ok, but a bit small and I feel the tacos are more bang for my buck. Service was pleasant and courteous. The store is spacious, well lit and clean. I liked that the man serving me wore gloves and a hairnet. The store is in the same building as a medical clinic that does ultrasounds and other diagnostic tests. There's free parking in the shared parking lot. Since the medical clinic is busy, it's hard to find parking. (167)

Fat Bastard Burrito has arrived in Orleans! They are a chain from Toronto. Their name cracks me up,…read morelol. I've had their bowls and tacos before at another location, but strangely enough I never had their burritos until recently, at this new location, and they were great. I was at my parents' house in Orleans and they're always up for trying new restaurants, so I'm often on UberEats looking for new eats for them. I saw that Fat Bastard Burrito was having a BOGO deal on their Nashville Chicken Burritos, so thought this would be a great little treat for them. So the Nashville Chicken burritos (regular size, which they call "lil" but is not really little at all, lol) on UberEats are $13.70 each, while if you buy them directly from the store they are only $10.95. However, with the BOGO deal it was $13.70 for 2 burritos, which was awesome. You get to pick the toppings and I pretty much loaded them up with lettuce, black beans, Pinto beans, cheese, rice, noodles (yep, noodles is an option and I chose it, lol), coleslaw, guacamole (no extra charge for guac which it often is at other restaurants), Pico de Gallo, sweet peppers, and "crunchies" (which are basically crushed tortilla chips). Pick up was quick and staff were friendly. I know I said I got the burritos for my parents, but let's be honest, kids always steal a taste of their parents' food, right? Or maybe that's just in my family (?) Lol. So yeah, I had some, and it was really good for a fast food joint. I mean, it's a fusion creation, Nashville Chicken Burrito, and for what it is, it was excellent. The vegetables were fresh, the chicken was lean and tender with a slight spicy kick, the tortilla was soft with the right amount of chew and it was tightly wrapped. The burrito did not fall apart despite being stuffed with ingredients. There are no shortages of Chipotle-style chain fast food joints in the NCR (e.g. Bar Burrito, Mucho Burrito, Quesada, etc.) but I do like Fat Bastard Burrito the most. They have the most amount of toppings available and their burritos are fat, and we all know size matters, lol. This location is in the Fallingbrook Shopping Centre (which is actually more of a plaza). It's in the same section as Eggspress/Parea and easyfinancial. Lots of free parking.

The menu is a lot simpler, and they are just selling tacos, churros, chips and gauc and some drinks. The hubby and I both got a set of 4 tacos each and a side of churros. I ordered 3 fish and one vegan, but they packed in a beef one instead. I don't eat beef, so my loss, and hubbies gain. The hubby got a fish, jerk, beef, and pork. He loved them all, but was meh about the beef, as it was not as colorful looking as the rest. I thought all my fish tacos were fantastic. The tacos also came with lemon, and lime and a side of hot sauce, which was super flavorful and not too hot. I wanted to try the chips and gauc but they were sold out. Churros delish and I really enjoyed the chocolate sauce for dipping. It would be awesome if they had a caramel sauce as well. Opening up the new sleek black packaging made me extremely happy as well. The tacos were so bright and colorful. Seriously, go look at the pics I uploaded of the tacos...WOW! Everything was packed with so much care. This would have been a solid 5 star for me, but again, they gave me a beef taco instead of the requested vegan taco. 4.5 stars.

The Steak Tacos are my absolute fav! I order my steak medium-rare then I add queso fresco, avocado, fire roasted salsa, crema and pickled onions. Did I mention that all toppings are free?! That's right - even cheese and avocado! That's pretty rare to find these days! Also worth mentioning are the Beer Battered Fish Tacos at La Ha. My hubby always orders them because he loves them so much. They're made perfectly every single time. We've also tried their Agua de Sandía and Horchata - both were excellent! The hubby, kid…read moreand I spontaneously drove up to this food truck Monday afternoon to grab a couple tacos. This food truck is located in a car wash parking lot in Orleans, with not a whole lot of parking. We arrived during lunch, around 11:50. Big mistake, I guess? There were maybe 5 people in line, so we decided to wait it out. It could not be that long right? The hubby waited in line while I waited in the car. It took him about 10 minutes to place his order. I believe it was somewhere around 12:09 where he came back to the car and said it would probably be around 15-20 minutes for the food. I contemplated him driving us back home and then him heading back for the food but we decided to just wait it out in case it was ready earlier than expected. I've never been to this place before, and did not do much research beforehand, but if I knew this place is known for the long wait times, I most likely would have skipped coming here, or just ordered online, which a lot of people were doing. That may have caused a back log of orders. Online orders, telephone orders and in person orders for a small food truck, with 3 people working....that is a lot of pressure, and it kind of screws over the customers placing orders in person. Fast forward to a screaming toddler, a person waiting in their car eyeing me for our parking spot (for 20 minutes...eyeroll), and a very slow food truck, we FINALLY got our tacos at 12:45pm. On to the food...everything is made in house, from the chips to the toppings. All platters come with 3 tacos, side of chips and salsa. You are able to add additional free toppings to your tacos like salsa, cabbage, avocado, ect. I am kicking myself in the butt for not doing so. I ordered the fish tacos, and the hubby ordered the pork. He noted that his pork was pretty dry and wish he added salsa to his tacos. Although, he did say they were good (but again, not wait 45 minutes good). My fish tacos were pretty flavorful, but I ran into the same problem with them being dry. The first taco I found the fish on the drier and chewier side. The other two were fine. It came topped with a crema sauce so that helped a bit.The chips were really good, and addicting. Their salsa that came with the chips was awesome and a pretty nice portion. The tacos itself are about 3 bites. The tacos were good, but waiting 45 minutes at a food truck is inexcusable, and left a sour taste in my mouth. I would not rush back, but this place is not a write off, because the tacos were good. Do yourself a favor and call in your order.
