I've had their bowls and tacos before at another location, but strangely enough I never had their burritos until recently, at this new location, and they were great. I was at my parents' house in Orleans and they're always up for trying new restaurants, so I'm often on UberEats looking for new eats for them. I saw that Fat Bastard Burrito was having a BOGO deal on their Nashville Chicken Burritos, so thought this would be a great little treat for them. So the Nashville Chicken burritos (regular size, which they call "lil" but is not really little at all, lol) on UberEats are $13.70 each, while if you buy them directly from the store they are only $10.95. However, with the BOGO deal it was $13.70 for 2 burritos, which was awesome. You get to pick the toppings and I pretty much loaded them up with lettuce, black beans, Pinto beans, cheese, rice, noodles (yep, noodles is an option and I chose it, lol), coleslaw, guacamole (no extra charge for guac which it often is at other restaurants), Pico de Gallo, sweet peppers, and "crunchies" (which are basically crushed tortilla chips). Pick up was quick and staff were friendly. I know I said I got the burritos for my parents, but let's be honest, kids always steal a taste of their parents' food, right? Or maybe that's just in my family (?) Lol. So yeah, I had some, and it was really good for a fast food joint. I mean, it's a fusion creation, Nashville Chicken Burrito, and for what it is, it was excellent. The vegetables were fresh, the chicken was lean and tender with a slight spicy kick, the tortilla was soft with the right amount of chew and it was tightly wrapped. The burrito did not fall apart despite being stuffed with ingredients. There are no shortages of Chipotle-style chain fast food joints in the NCR (e.g. Bar Burrito, Mucho Burrito, Quesada, etc.) but I do like Fat Bastard Burrito the most. They have the most amount of toppings available and their burritos are fat, and we all know size matters, lol. This location is in the Fallingbrook Shopping Centre (which is actually more of a plaza). It's in the same section as Eggspress/Parea and easyfinancial. Lots of free parking.

It was great, especially for the discounted price. You get to choose the tortilla, and I would normally get whole wheat, but I was sharing with my parents (and both burritos had to be the same) and my dad is a white bread kinda guy, so I got the white tortilla, lol. I got black beans, rice, pineapple salsa, cheese, lettuce, pickled jalapeno, tomatoes, green peppers, crushed chips and pickled onions as my fillings. I don't like my burritos too wet, so I opted for no sauce. The burrito was really tasty, for fast-food. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The burrito was well wrapped and didn't fall apart. The amount of filling was good. I will note that my mom had a rogue corn kernel in her half of the burrito, even though I did not choose corn as a filling. So there is some cross contamination. Not a big deal in our situation, but just FYI if you have allergies. Pickup was quick and within their estimated time. Staff were friendly. Lots of free parking in the plaza in which they are located.

I asked for the sauces on the side and thought they would give them to me in a separate container (like other restaurants do), but they put the sauces to the side in a heap in the bowls, lol. I was ok with this because my reason for asking for it on the side is so the entire bowl doesn't get soggy with sauce everywhere, but it was definitely different from the way other places do it. The taste was rather unremarkable, in my opinion. It tasted like the sum of its parts. Even the sauces weren't particularly special or unique. The ingredients were fresh and the quantity was good for a meal though. I feel that it's tastier than Quesada, but not as tasty as Chipotle or Mucho Burrito. The Long Version: When I first learned about The Tortilla Maker, they only sold plain tortillas for you to take home and make your own meals and also salsa. I wasn't particularly interested. However, I discovered that they recently started selling ready-to-eat tacos and also premade tamales. So I went to check it out. I got 3 tacos: chicken, beef and pork. They were $3.25 each. If you buy 3 tacos you get a free mini salad. I also got 2 tamales: chicken and pork. They were $6.25 each. The tacos were small but tasty. I put some of the shredded cabbage with tomatoes in the tacos, as well as the green salsa that the tacos came with. I enjoyed the tacos and would get them again. The tamales were ok, but a bit small and I feel the tacos are more bang for my buck. Service was pleasant and courteous. The store is spacious, well lit and clean.
