Imagine our surprise when we walked into the tasting room and there was Jeremy! The girls were thrilled to see him again. We had a 2:00 PM tasting appointment, and Michael was our host. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Jeremy had sold my friends a wine trivia game on their last trip, so naturally we brought it along and played while tasting. We actually played wine trivia in the car and at a few other wineries throughout our adventure, which made the trip even more memorable. The wines were delicious, and the winery has a warm, cozy atmosphere. The patio offers beautiful bay views, and even the bathrooms are charmingly decorated with thoughtful touches. One of my favorite finds was their unique champagne flutes. When you pour bubbly into them, the bubbles swirl like a tiny tornado inside the glass. It's a fun novelty and would be a great conversation piece for entertaining guests at home. Between the great wine, welcoming staff, beautiful views, and fun memories with friends, SCV Winery was definitely a highlight of our trip. We would happily visit again!

It has been a bit of a cluster, our credit card was declined because we had a fraud issue which again was quickly resolved for Yorkville. However at this point there really should no longer be any issues, order is coming, order is not coming, order is coming, order is not coming. We ordered again on Dec. 11 2023 and we still haven't received our order, we also have called left messages, and sent emails hoping for some communication to no avail. I hope we can move forward because we truly love the wine.

The cheeses alone are worth the drive, especially their Laychee which happened to be studded with fresh blueberries when we visited. If you try only one thing, make it the seasonal Laychee. It's unforgettable. We also devoured their ultra creamy deviled eggs, sipped wine, and ordered a cheese board because, honestly, cheese was the only thing on our minds. Boonville sits about 115 miles north of San Francisco, tucked among vineyards, redwoods, and small-town farmland. This whole stretch feels like a little slice of heaven. Stepping onto the property, it reminded me of a European farmstead. What makes Pennyroyal so special is that everything you taste comes directly from this land: goats, sheep, gardens, vineyards, cheese, wine - all feeding into each other on the same 66-acre ecosystem. Nothing is outsourced. They're open daily, and you can grab a table overlooking the vineyards or wander over to meet the animals and the people behind your very happy stomach. If you're exploring California's North Coast, this place belongs on your list.

And this was only the second winery that I had been to during the event. I usually try not to purchase too heavily at the beginning of a wine event because I tend to find great wines at the last wineries that I visit. But woo wee, I struck gold here and couldn't leave without some wine. Rivino is a family owned boutique winery that's nestled in the hillside of Ukiah. This is not typically where I go wine tasting, but this wonderful wine tasting event exposed me to what I've been missing on this side of town. Their grounds are extremely charming! Their estate overlooks their beautiful ranch and vineyards and also features an entertainment space where they throw events and have live music from time to time. Winemaker Jason McConnell was there at the event pouring wines and mingling with guests and staff. He is definitely a character and has so many entertaining stories. You can tell that he really enjoys producing his wine and he is super confident about it too. But he has a right to be because wow is that wine delicious! Not only did he pour us their special event wines, but he also hooked us up with tastes of several of his personal faves. He even asked me what my favorite wines were and had me taste a few wines that he knew would satisfy my palate. What's amazing is that they have great whites AND reds. Usually I've found that one is better than the other, but they are both superb here. Oh yeah, and they're Blanc de Blanc Sparkling is also delicious! Their white wines are top notch. I was extremely impressed with their Pinot Blanc, Estate Chardonnay, and Viognier. Pinot Blanc is usually hard for me to find unless i'm in or near this area (Mendocino/Anderson Valley), so I knew I was going home with a bottle of it right after the first sip. Their estate Chardonnay is so crisp, citrusy, and tropical. I had to have it. So amazing. And their reds! To die for. Loved their estate Sedulous Red Blend and their yummy Cab Franc, but ultimately fell in love with their bright and fruity Tiger Juice red blend. So joyfully fruity and jammy. It also came home with me. Yeah, their wines are definitely fine with me. The only reason why I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 is because a few of the staff members had attitudes and some of the exchanges between these ladies and the winemaker were kind of weird and at times... uncomfortable.
