The attorneys do not. More communication from billing than from the attorney. When the billing department contacts you more than your lawyer, the priorities are clear -- and they are not the client. The attorney introduced at the beginning was NOT the attorney assigned after payment. That switch alone is a major red flag. My assigned attorney does not appear anywhere on the firm's own team webpage. That lack of transparency is unacceptable. Online reviews show a pattern of detailed complaints that match my experience, yet the firm responds with generic "contact us for feedback" messages instead of addressing the issues. The money disappears fast, and the work does not reflect the cost. The value, communication, and results do not match what they charge. Something is off about how this place operates. I initially declined representation; however, the firm continued to follow up and applied pressure to retain my business, including reducing the quoted filing fee. I ultimately agreed to proceed. I made several monthly payments. After changing banks, I unintentionally missed a small number of automatic debits due to failing to update my payment information. During that period, the firm sent emails and made phone calls checking on the status of my account. Once my payment information was corrected, I eventually made the decision not to proceed with filing bankruptcy, accept my debt, and pay on my own. The firm's written agreement states that a refund may be issued if a client elects not to move forward. What is not clearly disclosed is that all communications and administrative activity--including the purportedly free initial consultation--are later classified as billable. As a result, the firm asserted that all funds I had paid were consumed by fees, leaving no refund available. The engagement agreement does not clearly define what constitutes billable work or when billing begins, which I find materially misleading. After I communicated my decision to discontinue services, the firm continued attempting to retain my business rather than promptly honoring my request to terminate representation. Recommendation: Prospective clients should carefully review and seek clarification--preferably in writing--regarding what this firm considers billable activity and when charges commence. Alternatively, consider retaining a firm that provides clearer disclosures and greater transparency. After that I contacted Stone Law Group, the people at stone Law Group were very helpful, from the first contact. They took time to understand what my concerns were and to make sure appointments and follow-up took place in a timely manner. Mr. Stone listen to me and what I was going through before explaining what he could do for me and what my next step would be. He even gave me a timeline for the bankruptcy procedure. When I decided to pursue another course of debt resolution, he helped me find someone that could assist me, and he also refunded any money that I had prepaid him. When I had my initial meeting with them they summarized the same exact terms of the stipulations this was even after I gave him my financial profile as I'm retired living on Social Security with no additional income with both my income and bank account exempt from garnishing or levies. I was looking for a payment plan or settlement that included dismissal of this suit. I understand the representation was limited in scope & the attorney stated more than once the $796 I paid him was nothing & other firms would cost double for this but not to the point where there was zero effort in an attempt to negotiate which by the way per the retainer does include negotiating. Regardless of the back story the end result was this firm who was supposed to be representing me and my interests to some extent was pushing me on July 7th to sign a Stipulated Judgment on a case that had been dismissed on July 2nd. That's an enormous mistake.

As their ad states "Do your research." I spent 30 minutes speaking with the intake representative about the accident. She then connected us with an attorney. He informed us that I had a strong case with liability, but my husband didn't, despite being the driver and sustaining a more severe injury. The attorney also mentioned that there wasn't much of a case because no one sought medical attention, there was no blood, and no broken bones were reported. It's sad to think that these are the criteria used to decide whether a case will be taken or not. The attorney said it seems like a road rage incident because my husband honked his horn at the other driver, and we rear-ended him because he braked suddenly. At no time was this a road rage incident. My husband used the horn solely as a warning to alert the other driver that we were already traveling in that lane after the driver unexpectedly entered our path. The horn was intended as a defensive measure to help prevent a collision, not as an act of aggression. My husband wasn't even cited for anything! It appeared to me that the attorney failed to comprehend the details of the accident we were explaining. It sounded like the attorney advised against using your horn and simply letting someone hit you. This didn't make sense to me, so we decided to seek advice from another well-known firm that disagreed with this approach. Furthermore, the attorney was displeased that my husband was arguing with him and persistently insisted to the attorney that it wasn't a road rage incident. However, the attorney refused to listen and it was frustrating my husband. The attorney claimed that he wouldn't tolerate someone screaming at him, but my husband was in another room and was speaking loudly, which was definitely not screaming at this attorney. I was deeply disappointed that this attorney refused to gather all the facts and genuinely listen to a potential client. This experience with this law firm taught me a lesson "listen to your gut and stick to your truth."
