For example, when I first called, I was told I was the number three caller. I waited quite a while, and when my call was finally picked up, I was transferred to voicemail, which seemed strange after waiting on hold for so long. I eventually reached someone and scheduled an appointment. A couple of days before the appointment, however, I was notified that the provider would not be there and that I needed to reschedule. I wasn't given an extension or direct number for the person who called me, just the main number. When I called back, I again waited on hold and was eventually transferred to voicemail. Someone later returned my call and left a message, and the same process started over again. After a couple more cycles of missed calls, waiting on hold, and being sent to voicemail, I finally gave up and decided to find another dermatology practice. I can't comment on the quality of the medical care because I never got that far, but the communication and scheduling process made it unnecessarily difficult to become a patient.

The back and forth (emailing the office with persistent lab billing photos and numerous phone calls, assuring me that my case is in their wrong and is being escalated to the office manager) took since April (4 months) until finally the office manager called me back today and said she doesn't know why this happened and said she can't take responsibility for it. Always nice, nice. She billed my healthcare provider for (12) skin keratosis when I had (5) removed on my hands by freezing. I called her office and said they overcharged me for services performed and over billed my provided. My provider paid 60%. I was stuck with the over billing. They did nothing to resolve my issue. They know patients are busy and have little time to solve medical billing issues. So, she successfully keeps running her scam. Because it works for her! That's how she make BIG money. I would never ever go there again!!! She is dishonest and staff from front desk to assistants are all in on the billing scam.

During my first appointment over 10 years ago, she had identified basal cell carcinoma on my face and subsequently biopsied and then successfully removed it with MOH surgery. From that time onward, I would drive to wherever she practiced despite there being many other closer dermatologists. My whole family travels the 45 min drive to see her for any skin issue and are always happy with her professional and friendly demeanor. Highly recommend!!

I was very nervous about visiting a doctor's office during the COVID-19 pandemic. The doctors and…read morestaff at Dermatology Consultants of Northern Jersey made me feel very comfortable in the waiting room and examination room by spacing out patients' appointments, sending the new patient intake forms to me to complete prior to my arrival at the office, removing seating from the small waiting room, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring patients and staff wear adequate personal protective equipment while in the office. Dr. Popkin called me in to see him within a few minutes of my on-time arrival and spent plenty of time with me to evaluate the specific reason for my visit and to perform a thorough exam for other skin issues. After the exam, he explained my options for treatment, answered any questions I had about the treatment, painlessly removed the item in question, and called with the results of the biopsy when he said he would. I will definitely return to Dr. Popkin for any future dermatology issues.
