I was never informed that the Dr I saw for years had left the practice. I booked an appt months ago and confirmed it via text a few days before it was scheduled. I take off work to be there at 8am Friday for my time slot. No one is at the office.i wait and call and receive no answer. The staff finally calls after I left a bunch of messages. They barely seem apologetic and don't say a word about why I was sent a text message to confirm an appt that no longer existed. The new staff is awful. Avoid this mess of a practice at all costs! I will find a new dermatologist that respects their clients and their time. read more

I lost count of how many years I've been going to Dr. B. She's very skilled at what she does from Laser, Sclerotherapy, removing a mole, botox or an appt with an esthetician. I had a 12:30 follow up appointment which I arrived for at 12:15. I patiently waited and at 12:55 I was finally taken into an exam room. I specifically requested Dr. B for this appointment. At 1:05 I asked the front desk when the Dr. Would see me she went to check. Another person came into the exam room and said I was next. Dr B came in asked how my summer was and what areas we were doing with Botox! I said I was not there for Botox that it was a follow up. She picked up her box of supplies and walked out. Another person cam in and said she would just be a few minutes. At that point I requested another Dr. And their response was so you want to reschedule! I said I have been waiting 40 Minutes past my appointment I would like to be seen. Jacqlyn came in did a 2 second exam and said everything was fine. They say the key to staying young is a positive attitude, but what they don't tell you is it's also a good dermatologist! At Laser & Skin, I've finally learned how to care for my skin. I think their focus has shifted to cosmetic dermatology since first opening years ago (though I believe you can still be seen for traditional medical care, as I continue to have annual skin checkups). Dr. Breslauer really knows what she's doing and offers the best treatments for your skin - treatments for dark spots, wrinkles, texture. You won't walk out of there looking nothing like yourself. Dr. B goes for a natural look that will have people saying, "You look great! Did you get a new haircut?" She truly cares about her patients and works with you to achieve an outcome you're happy with. Been going here for nearly 14 years and wanted to update my review since it has been a while. Yes, the building is currently under construction - that has no impact on the business (and I know, I'm there every couple of months! LOL). Their safety precautions during COVID are thorough, including having patients wait in their cars until their appointments. read more

I was happy with this place for medical dermatology, saw Jaclyn Perna who was thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. If you are looking for a place for cosmetic dermatology, be very wary. I had a consultation with Dr. B who suggested (and administered) Botox for under eye circles. I've since learned that this is considered "off label use" of Botox as it's not FDA approved for that area, which is something she should have disclosed. What's worse, I developed sacks of fluid under each eye that took over a year to dissipate completely. I looked like I had been punched in the face, which is also how I felt after calling to complain and being totally blown off. Hope I can save someone else from having go through this. read more

I had my first appointment here to see the dermatologist. Not a cosmetic appointment, a needed physical. Made the appointment 1 month ahead of time and got a call from the office 2 days prior to remind me of the appointment. Everything seemed great until I pulled up. First of all the building looks closed as it's completely under construction. I walked in and Breana at the front desk seemed flustered, told me she doesn't work here (although she's sitting behind the front desk) telling me "I don't work here. I used to work here, my mom works here, I'm just directing people upstairs who have coolsculpting". When I asked who I can speak to she stated dismissively "just call and leave a message, I have nothing to do with this". Wow. How unprofessional can this office be? If you're sitting behind the front desk, that means you represent this office. I received a call to remind me of the appointment, but no call to inform me that my appointment was cancelled? Meanwhile no medical appointments are taking place, but cosmetic procedures are priority. Nice. Look elsewhere if you want to be treated like a human being. read more

To wait over an hour and not be seen, this seems to be the trend at this establishment. This had happened previously and I thought it was an error on their part, however this happened again yesterday. And I was told it was a scheduling error, which I thought was BS since they send me several texts to remind me of my appointment, so no one noticed that they are running behind. If you like to wait, go for it, however I feel strongly that they are not at all respectful of ones time because they felt that theirs are so much more important then ours and probably they have sufficient business. read more

This office is just kind of a mess. I waited for months for my appointment and then sat for more than an hour waiting to see Dr. B. After making it out of the waiting room to the examination room (where I sat for another 30 minutes) the assistant then sought to confirm I was there for some totally different reason than why I had booked the appointment. Dr. B is absolutely lovely and I felt well cared for once she made it into the room. However, I just can't return to the office in its current state. It is a sad truth that doctors can be destroyed by the poor quality of their staff. In light of how long I waited to see her, I assume they won't miss me and don't much care. This office appears to be more focused on spa services than real medicine. If you don't mind waiting a LONG time (some people don't) and you need a facial, this is a decent spot. If you have a real medical concern about something going on with your skin, you need to go elsewhere. read more

In residing one town away, I decided to venture out to this company and not Summit Medical Center Dermatology in my town. I choose to go to them because of their good reviews. In arriving on a Thursday (11/30) at 855am for my appointment, the check-in went smooth. I was then placed in an exam room, hoping to be seen within 10 minutes. However, I learned this is the type of office which places you in the exam room and have you wait another 30 minutes. I have a rule if I chose a medical business, and I have to wait longer than 30 minutes, I leave because of the lack of respect for the appointment time. I treat any medical entity as a business, if they are not willing to provide good to great service, they don't deserve the business. After the chatting and laughing outside of the exam door, the PA enters the room 30 minutes after. Her greeting and examination were pleasant. We spoke about my challenges and all was well. In leaving the office and having a skin service in another venue, I realized my initial prognosis was incorrect and I wanted to let the PA know in order to see if I was using the right prescription she provided since the reason of my issue changed. I left a message on Friday (1 day after the visit) for the PA to call back. Unfortunately the call back never came. I sent an email 1 week later (today) in the early morning. I received an email letting me know it was the staff's fault the call from the PA wasn't returned. They expressed they were sorry and the PA would call. Later in the day, I receive a called from the MA (medical assistant) of the PA. This was a clear indication of the type of office this is and if you enjoy speaking to other parties who are not familiar with your care that is fine, but for me, it isn't the best practice in providing patient care. I choose to not speak to the MA and informed her no call back was needed since they were 1-week late and the PA didn't have the ability to call back to ensure all was well since 1-week passed. Overall, the delayed wait time due to socializing, the 1-week delay in returning a call, and the lack of courtesy, made it clear this place of business is not keen on customer service. If you enjoy great customer care, clear communication, and a place which respects your time, this may not be the best option for your dermatology or skin care needs. Reply to Erin's note: Erin, thanks for the response, but I think I was clear in receiving a callback. I also think the email from the office stating the call back never came because it was a mistake on the staff side, also notes a call back was warranted. I entered the office before 9am and when I heard the laughter at the door, I looked at my time which was around 929am. I am very clear on my policy as well as your office's policy, if I wait 30 minutes or more, I will leave. I was at that time, hence my recollection of the time was so clear. Thanks for your response, however, anytime anyone writes a negative review you always state the solution and avoid trying to make the reviewer seem wrong, it is a bad practice in responding to reviews. I got two consultations, one from Dr. B and the second one from a PA. Doctor B. was just fine in general. The PA was not, unfortunately. I was there for a follow-up visit and she just gave me a very quick consultation that might hat not lasted even 10 minutes. Knowing how U.S. doctors are so ungenerous with their time, I had all my questions prepared in a post-it. From the very start I told the PA I had three questions. After each of them she would answer quickly and walk closer to the door. My last question was about a treatment advertised on TV. She said "I don't know it but you can try!" Exactly the answer anyone else could have given me without charging me a penny. I felt so unwelcome, as if I did not have the right to be there. I will look for another practice. read more

I was about to walk in to the front of the office when the receptionist politely tapped on the window to let me know to use the door that was close by. I'm a big fan on this office's facials. They are well-priced and the Aesthetician is skilled and professional. I am also a big fan of the skin cancer screenings and mole removals. Dr. B is great. The biggest problem with this office is that they are too busy and book way too far into the future. It is very hard to get appointments unless you're willing to wait almost 6-8 months for an appointment! The Aesthetician only works one Saturday per month and these appointments book about 4 months out. read more

I have been going to Dr. B for over 10 years. I fell in love with her after my first visit. After she was done doing a full skin check, she asked me what my concerns were about my skin. No one has ever asked me that. I will be 60 years old this year, and people tell me all the time how beautiful my skin looks. She has helped me through skin cancer, and other skin problems. The whole staff is very professional , and very caring. The spa is unbelievable, the best Dermabrasion ever! I travel well over an hour to see her, she is that good. I had minor acne in 4th grade, way in advance of all my other classmate and felt very self conscious. I started going to the Laser Skin Institute in Chatham NJ in 2009, and kept going until May of 2012. She absolutely did nothing for me. If anything she made my skin worse. My skin went from minor (early) teenage acne to scars all over my face, and she didn't do anything to prevent, stop, or help it. Then I went to Machler Brian C MD in FLORHAM PARK, NJ 07932. She had my acne cleared within two months and the scars have faded so much that they are barely noticeable less than one year later. Dr. Breslauer is my absolute favorite doctor. She is so warm and kind and makes me feel like I'm top priority. When I told her how concerned I was about my acne she put me on a regime that works. Because of her I feel more confident and so much happier. As for the staff, extremely professional. When I come in for an appointment, the receptionist greets me with a smile and actually knows me by name and treats the patient as the most important person. After reading the reviews I visited Laser and Skin Institute. They take insurance which is a plus, and the entire experience was great. I did not see the doctor but the NP and PA. Both were very helpful with an allergic reaction I am having from meds or products. I am 80% better today from using prescribed medication. Thank you! The physician assistant at this office, Jacqueline Perna, is an exceptional healthcare provider. She is brilliant, professional, and has a wonderful personality. I've been going to Dr. B for years now - and most of my family does as well. At one point I thought she was great - not so much anymore. Bottom line - while she does know her stuff, she's become too busy to provide adequate service. The staff isn't the most professional and seems to forget that the client comes first. When I have to wait 6 months for a regular appointment, I expect the doctor to be on time - or somewhat close to it. To have to endure a 30-40 minute wait for a 10 minute skin scan that was scheduled 6 months prior is ludicrous. I live about 40 minutes from her office and have to travel on the NJ Turnpike to get to Dr. B. On my way to my last visit I was in a car accident. I had the courtesy to call them and let them know - and yet they didn't ask if I was okay - and when I called back a few hours later to see if they could squeeze me in, they told me I would have to reschedule and she was booking into December. I mean come on - really? After I told them that was unacceptable, they did speak to Dr. B and said they found time in early September. What's a shame is that it's situations like this that are damaging Dr. B's brand. At this point, I won't recommend her and I will discourage my family from returning. read more

I took my ten year old daughter to see Dr. Kandula several times. It was my mistake thinking she was comfortable and or competent in working with a child. When I shared my concern for lack of progress she blamed my daughter for lack of cooperation with what was painful and inappropriate therapy. I since have taken my daughter to Dr. Seth Orlow in NYC for treatment of warts on her foot. Problem solved! And done so in a manner that is best for a child and in an open environment where a parent advocating for their child is not made to feel uncooperative. While I honestly don't think this required a pediatric dermatologist it is nice to know that one is available. My opinion is that Dr. Kandula is not the best fit for working with children. I don't know if it is lack of clinical skills or overall desire to work with children but something to consider. read more

I have been going to Dr Bresslauer for many years. She is excellent. She is smart, and very talented. She also really knows her stuff! The new office provides a calming environment. I have noticed that it takes a long time to get an appointment with her, but I only go every four months so I book the next appointment when I am there. There is also another excellent Doctor there who can see patients as well. The practice makes sure that patients are covered. I do notice that if patients are late to their appointments it does back up all appointments for other patients. read more

Not very impressed really. I went for a consultation for sclerotherapy for red veins on my legs. Was told by the initial person that this is what I would require. When I went for treatment (weeks later as they are so busy and only seem to have limited service for this treatment in the evenings) the doctor (Kandula) asked to see what veins I wanted to treat and she looked at them. Literally as she began to inject, she then told me that my type of red veins weren't really ideal for sclerotherapy as they are too thin and spread out (blush veins). Why didn't she tell me this before beginning to inject. Why didn't the original person who saw me tell me this. Surprisingly - it didn't really work. I was also left with brown marks where they injected (which I recognize and was aware was a potential side condition) but having told them that this treatment left brown marks when I had a different vein treated about a year ago, they said they would use a different solution (they never asked me what solution I had originally had). Most disappointed that the Doctor did not tell me beforehand that actually they had made a mistake and my type of veins weren't suitable, but instead, I had to pay for something she didn't think would work. read more
