Went to get pricing for 9 windows and a door. Robert took my hand written description of all the windows and door, and gave me a quote from my list. Wife and I left the store and looked over the quote , come to find out 1/2 the windows were not even what was on our list on the quote then realized he didn't give me back my list. A little better in price compared to THD at least on plywood right now. People arent very friendly that work here though so that kinda ruins it but the experience is cool cause u buy the lumber inside and you pull into the yard and they load everything for you! Besides today of course. I think the guy was new but yeah my dad and i loaded the 40 pieces of 2x4s by ourselves. read more

Don't expect the salesmen to say hello or a "we will be with you as soon as we can. Be prepared to be ignored. I left and called for a quote from a local lumber yard. Then went back to try again. No line. And the manager finished up talking to one of his salesmen and strolled back to his computer. Totally ignored again! I guess I did not look local enough! read more

WE found the door we wanted,32 by 80 -9 lite door door $189.99 with a very small strip at bottom show regular price $249.99, neither price tags had expiration dates. went to front counter to purchase and advied its $249.99 I told him no its showing $189.99 no that sale is over saturday 07/10/21. advised him they should take the sale tag down ,he told me it has a expiration date,I went back checked no expiration date on neither tag went back told them him, he said it s not his job to change signs very rudely, I ask to speak with manager, he called him (Angel) and try to make us feel like we did something to signs ,which did not make sense because they both was their. I'm done with MG. Despite spending tens of thousands of dollars on building materials, it's nearly impossible to return $150 of extra tile backer without a receipt. Don't tell me you can't pull up my order in the system. Despite having polite salespeople in the past, the salesman I just got off the phone with was genuinely among the rudest I've ever dealt with. He literally hung up on me, after being an unhelpful asshole the entire time. Let's not forget that MG has never once delivered my order on the scheduled time (again...tens of thousands of dollars of building materials), and they delivered my sheetrock in the rain. Every single corner had water damage and the delivery was scheduled for the day before the rain was forecasted. The only reason this review gets two stars is because I want to make sure I'm not reviewing on tilt. They have the best prices on SOME things but not all. I wouldn't say putting up with their garbage customer service is worth it unless you are spending a large amount of money. read more

I have waited almost 15 years to write this review. I see that I am not alone in saying M &G Supply does not deserve your business. Do not shop there. Do not order anything from them. Do not trust them to treat you with any dignity or respect. My experience with them was so bad... I can only say from my perspective they acted like thugs. The two brothers (owners) do not deserve your respect. I specifically requested that they not deliver 25 square of roof shingle onto the roof of my house but they did. They dropped an entire pallet onto the roof. I didn't discover the damage until 10 months later when I complained they tuned me out.. What goes around comes around and I can see that 15 years later there is not one review here on Yelp saying that M&G deserves your business. This place is a bigger joke than Home Depot and Lowe's. While they were the only ones to offer help, once I told them what I wanted to do all they could offer was plexiglass or plywood, neither one are they able to cut. How sad read more

We waited over an hour and 45 minutes to get into the the yard and then load up our 10 boards. This place is a joke! There's no organization to how to get your items. The service was really terrible. The fork lift guys would tell you one thing and do another. This seriously has to be the worst lumber yard around. Almost 2 hours just for 10 2X6s... WHAT A DISGRACE! I'd rather have paid the extra $1/ board for Home Depot. read more

Not a vey good place to shop. Whether your buying or making a return it takes a long time. You go out to the yard to pick up materials, and it takes for ever. Asked at the desk how much is a sheet of drywall and I was told it was $6.59 if I picked it up, and $7.69 if I had it delivered, so I said go ahead and deliver it. Then I was told there was a $60 charge for the delivery, in top of the additional .90 cents. Didn't make sense, and was told by two sales clerks that it was "corporate policy". So I said fine, I'll pick it up and pay the $6.59 which is the same price as Home Depot. The sales clerk added the $60 delivery charge, and if I had not noticed it "corporate" would have been very happy. Went inside and told the clerk, not even a I'm sorry. The loaders at the Military Dr. store are the absolute worst.They have no work ethic, rude, and disrespectful. We Purchased 1500.00 worth of kitchen cabinets were told by sales man to make sure we Inspected cabinetry when we picked it up, which we did, upon opening the box we discovered that two were severely damaged with one having a hole completely in the back side showed it to the loader and was told that we could not reject it because the hole was in the back and no one was going to see it anyway which was very unprofessional on his part opened another box and found another was damaged and again was told that we had to take it which we didn't. He proceeded to tell us the salesman should not have told us that we could inspect cabinetry when we picked them up. The salesman was very professional and took his time to order what we needed a well deserved sale on his part to bad I can't say the same for the loaders. read more

This particular store is terrible. Took 15 minutes to get into the lumber yard and over 20 minutes (after my truck had been loaded) to get out. No one appeared to be interested in getting the traffic out. Do yourself a favor. If you really want the shop MG, then go up the Kerrville. At least they seem to have a clue and it's a nice drive. read more

Pros: they have stuff you may not find at other places. Cons: Don't go there if your in a hurry. you buy your lumber inside and have to go outside to collect. Pull your truck up to the gate, a guy checks your receipt, forwards you to the next stop where you wait in line with the others in their vehicle. workers are passing you by stocking and unloading stock but not helping customers. they look at you like "I feel for you, wish I could help". 10 guys stocking 1 guy helping customers (seems like). I waited 20 minutes for 1 piece of lumber. had a small nap, used my electric razor, got a nice shave. anything to be progressive. don't try to contact me unless you've fixed the problem. After shopping at my Local M and G Building supply here in Kerrville for probably 20 years, I went and bought a toilet seat. I went home to install it and the plastic screws were too short for my Bowl fixture. I took the seat back to M and G , and the manager told me it was my problem, not theirs. I called the police for what its worth- put a little of the fear of God into that smart -aleck new manager who is like 30 years younger than me - guys like that never last anyway, he's probably already history- guys who don't know which side their bread is buttered on and that the customer is always right.. but they lost my business, and I am ready to order building supplies for a new home, and it won't be form M and G!. Found out later I could get longer threaded brass screws for the seat at Gibsons here, so was able to utilize the toilet seat after all , but still, Lowes or Home depot would've taken taken it back no questions asked. read more

This place has the worst customer Service ive ever experienced in 40 years on God's green earth. When walking in the store no greeting or someone helping you out. Found out where to buy what i was looking for asked the sale's person a series of question which he said it would be possible to cut 16ft crown molding in half to fit in the back of my truck. Just to tell the guys in the yard to cut them as the sales man said wouldn't be an issue. Paid and drove to the back to pick up crown molding. Guy was already closing up the gate at 4:45pm when they state they are open till 5. Guy tells me to drive up and they'd load me up. They make me wait 10 mins before someone finally comes to my window just to tell me they wont cut the molding for me even if it was offered during the sale. Guy walks away to ask and they tell him they refuse to complete the order because they are closed. But wait had been waiting for 15 mins for them to get my stuff. They had some low life toothless guy come on up my truck just to tell me I can come back on Monday. Told him i had already paid for this and I'm needing my martials as i just drove across San Antonio. I asked to speak with a supervisor but was told one wasn't available because they were closed. They guys seemed as they didn't care for the customer nor did the care if these guys got any business. Words to the wise take you business else where even if you have to pay a little more. Don't waste your time or effort on this company! This shady service doesn't belong in business and best believe I will be reporting to the BBB! Funny that my location saying im in Cal.
