Sean Sadeghi completely ruined our deal. His assistant told us the appraisal came in at value and it hasn't even been ordered. He doesn't answer his phone or manage the deal at all. I cannot believe that in a service industry someone like this is even in business. Doesn't even provide a cell phone number to his clients. What a process we went through, it seemed like it took FOREVER but I have to say we are forever grateful to Sean and his wonderful team. During Covid the refinance process was NOT a fun on, we were constantly asked for work verification, more and more documents, pretty much almost anything short of a newborn (joking!), but Sean and his team delivered for us, which in the end made all the painful sending of documents back and forth worth it. I'd never heard of this place prior to their calling me at home and soliciting me for a home loan. Guess where they got my contact info and other personal data? Equifax! That's right, a credit bureau, whose info is part of what goes into getting approved or denied credit, actually sold me out to a freakin' mortgage company! Scary. It was creepy as hell because I didn't even know what they wanted with me at first. This lady started telling me they could convert my ARM into a 30-year fixed. I'm not in an ARM, and haven't been in years. It sounded like she believed I was someone else and had the wrong number! But no, she was using my credit report which they got from Equifax. (Just goes to show your info is NOT safe! Beware!) She was referencing the original crappy loan I got when first purchasing my home, which I've since refinanced into a much better one. I tried to be as polite as I could because she was very polite and I figured she was just doing her job, obnoxious and shady as their methods may be. I took it as an educational experience: these phone flunkies don't necessarily know anything about loans! No matter how I declined, she tried to persuade me to change my already fantastic loan by telling me they could get me into a 30-year instead of my 40-year and pay off the house faster ( ! ). Totally asinine. She even had the naiveté to ask why I'd want a 40-year. Obviously, we want to pay as little as possible each month, which is quite typical for holders of jumbo mortgages. And she worked for a lender?! She then tried to sell me a higher interest rate "oh but it's only 30 years; you could pay it off faster!" It was hard not to laugh and point out the stupidity of her statements. If I wanted to pay my loan off in less time, I'd just make larger payments. My loan has no pre-payment penalty. Or, if I sold the house, the loan would be paid off that way. I'm supposed to screw myself with a bloated, over-priced monthly payment at 4.19% instead of my current 3%, just to avoid hurting a phone flunkie's feelings? Come on. My loan has 35 years left to go, and I'm middle-aged. I'm supposed to care whether I'm 75 or 80 at the time the loan is paid off? Really? I don't know ANYONE in a loan this size, whose lifespan is at least half over, who expects to pay it off during their lifetime, unless they sell or receive a healthy inheritance. Since she was really nice for a phone solicitor, I tried to throw a dog a bone, so to speak, by letting her know I'd be open to hearing about options for increasing the equity line of credit on my home. She didn't understand what the heck I was talking about and really came across as foolish. I was asked why I would want a larger equity line???!! I don't think she knew the difference between pulling money out, and paying a big fat payment every month whether I use it or not (a home equity loan, which tend to have fixed rates), and a line of credit that I can draw upon in emergencies and pay accordingly. It was embarrassing. She seemed to assume no one would want extra debt against their house, but it's only debt if you use it. Having a line to draw upon in emergencies is important. You can have a line of credit for years and not go into debt, just like having backup credit cards on which you don't carry a balance. I'd expect a lender to know that. Worse, she kept wanting to set up times to call me but I told her not to; that I would call her if I wanted. She disrespected that and called repeatedly over the next couple of days, acting like I hadn't already declined the offer. Instead she kept trying to sell me on a new, stupid, overpriced loan to replace my first. I reminded her -- again, being my polite self -- that I'm very attached to my first and only want to hear about seconds, if anything. She said they don't do stand-alone seconds (gee, what a shock! Second position is riskier for lenders; what else is new?!) and kept trying to lead me down the path of an inferior first. It was truly remarkable how brazen she was in asking for my personal financial information for a loan I didn't want. Wasn't it bad enough they got their hands on my personal credit report without my permission? I refused, and she kept rephrasing the question instead of backing off. I told her I wouldn't disclose that, and she asked, what do your tax returns show? (I'm not kidding) and even wanted to know which accountant we use so she can use him too (I told you, I'm not kidding!). She wanted to know how I was able to get the kind of loan I'm in, which was also none of her damned business. I know borrowers would kill for 3% and 40 years but it's up to them to seek it out. If you insist on owning a $1m+ house, you figure out a way to do it, and it's not by talking to stupid people who assume you're ignorant. The gist of the experience is these people are stupid. I had a great experience with them. I have no idea when it came to purchasing a home and how the loans work but they made the transaction for me very easy to understand. I dealt with Sean and he gave me a very low interest rate on a 30 yr fixed. When it came to signing all the documents, I was out of town for work. They went out of their way to find a notary close to where I was and sent all loan documents there.
