What a wonderful place! Not only is the food phenomenal, the service was great too. I asked if we could get guacamole with our chips and she said they didn't have any that day but would make me something fresh and homemade. She came back out with a delicious guacamole that I couldn't stop eating. I had the marinated chicken sope and it was so good! This is authentic Mexican food, not Tex-mex! Mi Casa Taqueria is a little hole in the wall, Mexican restaurant. The dining area is small, only a few tables, but they were not crowed when I stopped in around 1:30 in the afternoon. The tacos are out of this world. The ingredients are fresh and set up on a table for you to get your own. They had 3 different salsa to go with the chips. The weird green salsa and mild salsa bubbled and tasted and smelled spoiled. Great Find. Not much seating so pretty soon it will be hard to get in here given the quality of the food but the pastor sopas are very good and worth the trip. This is authentic Mexican not tex mex so be prepared for the more flavorful sauces and meats than what you get in chains. The tacos are small but only 1.50...they taste like street tacos and you get just the meat and tortilla and then add you toppings. The sopas are on a thick home made flour tortilla and come with meat, lettuce, crumbled white cheese and a little sour cream. You top them with their house made green and red sauces to taste. They had house made melon water as well, one with cantaloupe and one with watermelon. What a great lunch read more

My mother and I decided to stop in after a lap around the campus. When we arrived, there was a single student employee, who wasn't wearing her mask. She gave us our choice of tables and flopped the menus down on the table. After bringing us our bottled drinks from the limited selection, we could hear the chip bag and microwave from the back; she brought us the half-full chip basket and sat back in her corner(without letting us know that the salsa was self-serve). She eventually took our order and shortly thereafter, we saw the cook(who also wasn't wearing a mask) take out our ingredients from the freezer and fire up the microwave again. Found this gem by sheer accident today. Absolutely amazing restaurant. We bought half a dozen tacos de asada and half a dozen tamales. The tacos were $9; the tamales $5. There's a nice selection of toppings and a couple freshly made salsas. The avocado salsa was great. I wish I had the recipe. It's family run. Clean. Extremely friendly. Will be here at least once a week. Hands down best tacos I've had. The only other place that has come close is in New Orleans and also small and family run. read more
